Eclipse Phase: Chain Reaction
Olympus City, once the boomtown gateway to Mars and still the foot of the great Elevator, is a shadow of its former self. Once a city of six million, today it houses a little less than one million. At the core, skyscrapers climb up and cluster around the base of the Elevator's spacebound thread. On the outskirts, the wreckage of old souks and depressurized "tuna can" habs stand open to the black and freezing Martian sky. Well above the altitude at which terraforming gains have been made, the caldera at the top of Olympos Mons is a forbidding landscape, its life and utility sustained by the great Elevator and the corporations whose workers cluster around it. There is great wealth and potential at the center, but the fringes are the realm of the broken and desperate.
The residents of Olympus are probably the most varied population on the surface of Mars; synths and uplifts rub shoulders with biologicals, and the Indentured live alongside the Free. But in the city which anchors the Elevator, possibly the largest symbol of corporate authority on the planet, is anyone really free?

I would really, really, REALLY prefer players who have not read or played through these modules...Read "If I must fill out a group with one person who has done it before and is willing to not take the lead based on OOC knowledge, fine, but I really would prefer to have a bunch of folks who've never seen it."
I would also prefer players who were familiar with EP character generation (either the Core Rules OR Transhuman methods are fine with me) and have at least passing familiarity with the setting as described in Sunward and Panopticon, particularly focusing on Mars.
If you're new to EP and haven't generated a character and are wondering about this, I was in a game elsewhere which after 2 months of trying to bootstrap various people through chargen simply folded. If you haven't ever played EP but you've at least read through the chargen and tried to create some characters of your own, that's probably good enough...Providing you've read up a bit on Mars in Panopticon and Sunward...But I would prefer not to have to teach someone who is entirely new to the game. Sorry!
Characters will be Firewall Sentinels.
This will be an adult game due to the adult themes involved (frankly, EP in general has a variety of adult themes that aren't easily extracted from its setting). Said themes include terrorism, murder, legalized forms of slavery ("indentured servitude" yes, yes, that's semantic quibbling) varieties of chauvinism that don't even exist in our current world as well as those that do, and all the various elements of vice to be found in inner-city populations.
I am looking for 4-6 interested players, which does not mean that if I get 6 applicants I will necessarily take more than 4. I'll be looking for people who seem to work together well.
Players will be expected to discuss character concepts on the game forum and work to build up a team together rather than submitting finished characters for approval as part of their RTJ. Because of this, I would prefer that players do not submit a completely pre-made character, nor go through all the effort of chargen before hearing everyone else's concepts. I know, the Transhuman chargen is much less effort, but still, I'd rather nobody felt they had to restart from scratch. :)
Please read my philosophy of GMing and the notes under House Rules before submitting an RTJ (note that while there is a lot of stuff under House Rules, most of it is optional character backgrounds and the like...Very little of it is actual modification to the game system. You don't have to read the optional stuff if you don't want to!).
