Hell is empty and all the devils are here. - William Shakespeare
For centuries the human race has been haunted by stories of things that go bump in the night.
Horror tales told around fires of the living dead that feed off innocent blood while shapeshifting humans affected by the full moon were created to scare little children into obeying their parents so they didn’t wander away from the safety and comfort of their home. Rumors often drifted through towns and countrysides, but the rumors were always found to be false. Nothing to make people believe that the stories were just that.
But, there is a drop of truth in every rumor.
The same beings that were the center of these horror stories and rumors were the ones starting wars, helping win them, building towns and burning them down. They were saving lives and taking them. They were some of the best inventors and storytellers. They helped advance society in ways that people will never understand. After all, when your life is extended what else do you do with your time?
One of the said towns was Winchester.
The foundation was poured in the year 1890, just a year after the State of Washington was founded, The snow-capped mountains and forested island intrigued people. The beauty and serenity that abounded drew in people from all over the world - it is one of the things that captured the attention of the founding family of Winchester.
It was during this time that the state itself was just starting to move forward. The potential was obvious to those searching to find a place to call their own. The unclaimed land was vast. It was here that several families put down roots and began to build the town, which is now a beloved tourist attraction.
Now, in the year 2016, the beautiful scenery attracts more than the outdoorsy humans. The dense woods and, rolling hills, and vast mountain ranges call the shape-shifting humans. The booming tourism attracts the walking dead that desires nothing more than blood. Together these two factions have caused an unrest with the local circle of witches and the council of humans that oversee the charming little town. They have alerted the hunters, who have sent in a group of their own, to restore order, keep the peace, and piece everything back together, but will it be enough?
Or is the little town of Winchester destined to be ground zero for another war between the things that go bump in the night?
