Several teams, one world (M&M 2nd)
A year or so ago an M&M game existed on RPOL that ran multiple groups simultaneously. Now, for your gaming pleasure, a reboot, same world, new GM, is being launched, with significantly less groups!
The three groups currently recruiting:
Group 1 (PL 8)
Young adult heroes working on a team sponsored by a wealthy patron. They're powerful and they have attitude, and need to work through more than just supervillains, but their own uncertainties and troubles
Group 2 (PL 10)
In the wake of the death of Nova City's greatest hero, the mayor assembles a team of heroes to fill his shoes. His base, his tech, and his legacy stand where he has fallen, and it's time for new heroes (and some ones who've been here all along waiting for a chance to step up) to take up his torch
Group 3 (PL 10)
Supervillains, profiled by the country's top expert in metahuman psychology, all put together on one team, forced to work together, posing as heroes for the crooked and dangerous town of Edge City. The mayor may say he welcomes them (not knowing who they truly are) but he and his mob ties are likely worse villains than any person chosen for this team
Edit:
Alright, possibly looking for four new characters, which might be as many as four new players.
Teams, rosters and needs below, keep in mind that you can apply with anything so long as the character is engaging (and follows the game rules) but what the teams need might get favoured
Group 1 (PL 9)
Upstarts- a group of young (late teens to early 20s) heroes, working for a newspaper owner and playing music as a band on weekends
A paragon/cosmic energy controller, a summoner/illusionist (art controller), a temperature controller atlantean, an archer, and two mages (one of chaos magic and one of law magic)
Need either another upfront fighter and/or a techie type most immediately. As an aside, so far only the chaos mage is male. No preference as to applicant gender, as either way the group has an interesting dynamic (and very few of the girls are inclined)
Group 2 (PL 10)
New Nova Guardians- the latest iteration of a team stretching back to the Golden Age (the 30s), the newest version answers to the mayor, a former superhero himself, and is based out of an island base in Lake Michigan (tricked out with cutting edge tech thanks to the last guy who lived there).
A light controller, a psychic spy, a speedster, a former soldier with experimental flight wing harness and sniper rifle, a shadow mystic doctor, a battlesuit techie
Much like the other group, an upfront type would be nice as the battlesuit is basically alone in that regard (though the shadow mystic can punch like a truck if he needs to)
Group 3 (PL 10)
Nightwatch- former criminals passing themselves off as superheroes. They've got endorsements, they've got a tv show and they are loved. But what could happen if their secret is threatened? Already people have skirted that line, and some members of the team aren't all that redeemed . . .
A powerhouse absorber, a speedster with light control device, a psychic shapeshifter, a peak human supersoldier type, an immortal witch, a chi controlling martial artist
This team has the opposite problem as the others, too many upfronters. Someone who can work from range, or a techie type (the team has gone through four of those previously!) would be appreciated. The team runs the spectrum from truly redeemed (the supersoldier and speedsters are positively good aligned!) to outright faking it (the witch and the psychic) so any type of backstory works
Group 4 (PL 12)
Constellation- some golden agers and legacies got together for a friend's wedding and then all hell broke loose. Pantheon fights global threats, pushing into places where others can't, and fighting the wars no one else can. Kings, queens and gods, this is the premier league of heroes, based out of a magic castle in Ireland
King of Atlantis, banshee goddess, archmage of Order, scientist turned unstoppable powerhouse, half-demon redeemer, psychic alien diplomat
Anything would be fine but the team could use someone with an array of skills (be they a batman type or something else entirely) but here as long as the character doesn't overlap on of the above, its more story than anything else that will drive this group (as most of them have the points to be good in skills anyways)
