The world you know... the world of the 20th century, is long dead and gone. It's not even a glimmer, not even a memory. That was the First World, and that civilization rose and fell nearly a billion years ago.

Consider that for a moment. A billion years, at least.

In that time, another seven great civilizations rose and fell. Most were human, or at least something resembling human. Some were alien. At least one didn't even originate in this dimension. Some reached out to and dominated the stars themselves. Others mastered and rewrote the very laws of physics and reality.

Each rose from their humble beginnings to depart this wretched little rock, leaving their broken and discarded toys behind, leaving a world behind that we in the 20th century would never recognize.

Our players are the children of the Ninth World. Compared to the civilizations before them, they've barely even crawled out of their caves. Insofar as innovation and invention are concerned, they are stuck in their equivalent of our Bronze Age... they fight not with guns and lasers, spaceships and bombs, but with swords and staves, magic and bows.

But they are also different from us, in that the eight worlds before them left behind their toys. Cyphers and Artifacts and Oddities that somehow still work, even if no one really knows how, works of technology so great that to the common man they are as magic. They have adapted their world to include these... so their swords may be metal, or pure energy, or flame. Their bows may shoot arrows, or bolts of plasma or ice. They may manipulate the nanites that permeate every aspect o their environment to sling 'spells', to manipulate the forces of reality.

These humans, these mutants, these aliens and extradimensional visitants who populate a globe that by all rights should no longer exist -- they are slowly trying to harness the powers their parents left behind... and you are one of them.

Are you a glaive, a warrior who specializes in the martial arts? Are you a nano, tapping into the network of microscopic machines around you to control reality itself? Or are you a roguish jack of all trades, charming your way through the world? Whatever you are, you are one of the revered heroes who go out into our world to find more of the secrets of the ancients... selling them to the highest bidder, perhaps, or helping the Order of Truth increase its knowledge of the Before.

You are a hero. A villain. A mercenary. A god.

I am looking for five players to start a new, unique campaign. Players will start at first Tier, but XP rules have been home-brewed to acknowledge the slower pace of PBP.

We have a wiki, http://xanorak.wikidot.com (warning, have an adblocker enabled), which outlines the CGen process as well more clearly lays out what we're looking for.

Posting will be slower, recognizing the real world lives of our players and GM. Focus will thus be on more descriptive, storytelling posts than quick-fire responses.

As we head into the meat of our initial campaign, we find that an additional party member is needed.

Currently looking for one new player, to take on the role of a Glint or Seeker (new Types revealed in the recent release "Character Options 2"). More details will be available on the game wiki.

Please see RTJ for expected info. Current game progress is also visibly available.

Noting for Clarity: we are NOT looking for new characters to be apped. All RTJs should be to adopt the existing characters mentioned below.

Sadly, holidays slump has hit the game, and a few of our players have had to check out, meaning our intrepid band of adventures is suddenly shy three of its members right before they delve into he main dungeon crawl of the campaign.

Now, based on how the game has grown and the nature of the current narrative, we don't have room to add in completely new characters -- there is a direct connection between all these characters that is central to the theme. As such, I'm not looking for new characters to RTJ at this point. Instead, I'm looking for players to adopt the current characters, to help us bring them back to the fore. This means everything is already set up for you -- you just need to catch up a bit on the story and charge in full swing!

Our first character needing a new driver:

Jaeda Swiftsteel is a Charming Glaive who Solves Mysteries.

- Jaeda hails from the Black City, nearly a whole world away from the main campaign area. As such, she was raised in a very technophobic society -- while man-powered technology was natural, believe in the datasphere, in automata, or in any technology that is internally powered is anathema... these are the demons of air and earth, and to be distrusted. She has her own views on this -- but some cultural habits are very hard to break.
- Jaida is our primary fighter, dual-wielding enhanced blades in battle.
- However, she's also a bit of a charmer, with a curious nature that belies her upbringing.
- Before taking on the current mission, Jaeda worked as something of a bounty hunter. At one time, Taelan was her quarry.
- Jaida also has recently become the owner of a Trinnet she calls "Puffball", which caries coloration very abnormal for its species as well as mild psionic/empathic abilities and intelligence one would not expect from a 'luxury' pet.

Lofwyr Hawkesong is a Clever Nano who Controls Gravity

- Lofwyr hails from Pytharon, seat of a once glorious empire once again seeking to reattain its glory. Like many of his brethren, Lofwyr is possessed of rugged determination and iron will. When things get smooth and easy, he gets bored... but when his face is ground in the dirt, and all seems lost, he's in his element.
- Lofwyr is a self-made Nano, his powers coming from personal experimentation and mechanical implantation. Currently, he's only shown others the ability to defy gravity and hover in place, but surely there is more behind that ability.
- Before the adventure started, it appears Taelan and Lofwyr had a less-than-pleasant interaction, perhaps at odds with each other, but both seem oddly okay with this, despite not providing additional details.

Dexil Guilan is an Inquisitive Jack who Bonds with Symbiotic Armor

- Dexil is unique: a human raised by the free automatons in the Weal of Baz. While he knows he's made of flesh and bone, inside he still thinks of himself as a created being much like those who raised him.
- Dexil has an implant that gives him access to the Datasphere once per 28 hour day, allowing him to make a single query.
- Around his coming of age, Dexil was chosen to merge with a piece of sixth world tech, a suit of biomechanical armor that he can summon at will.

Still looking for the listed replacements above. You do NOT need any knowledge of the system -- but would ask that you use at least my descriptions above or the extended descriptons here ( https://redd.it/5u2omb ) for the character you want to craft your written sample.

As noted before since I'm still getting apps for NEW characters, we're not at a place in the story where replacing a character is possible. I will consider allowing a re-app for a new character (with similar XP/loot amounts), if you so desire, once the current dungeon-crawl is completed.

Just noting that Dexil and Lofwyr have found new replacements.

However, our dear Jaeda still needs someone to adopt her.
