X-men : Remnants
Everyone knew it was coming, it was only a matter of time. Tensions were rising between the mutants and the humans with little signs of anyone backing down. The war was on the bring of happening and everyone was getting ready for it to happen. What no one could predict was how hard and fast it would happen. Hours after the first strike was make, Xavier's school, Genosha, and Asteroid X were destroyed. The response was almost instantaneous as New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, and Dallas were torn asunder by mutants.
For the most part the concentration of the war remained in the United States, with a few outbreaks happening here and there across the world. While the mutants were far more powerful than the humans, the sheer number of humans were enough to overwhelm the mutants. Nearly all mutants who had a power level above level 3 were killed. Most the others were tagged and place in small reservations where the government could track them and keep a mark on them.
A few pockets of resistance remain but they're disorganized, uncoordinated, and seem to fight each other more than the government control but they are out there. The government keeps a firm grip on the reservations and colonies of mutants to ensure nothing happens that can cause another uprising and that mutants stay in their place underfoot.
On a small colony outside of Oklahoma a group of unmarked mutants have banned together, attempting to do more than just survive off the government controls. Posing as an extended camp/retreat for troubled youths most the mutants here wish for a more peaceful way of life and are trying their best to get by.
