This is a game for dedicated Guardsmen only!

Stand up for the Imperium of man! Fight the filthy xenos! Burn the heretics!

Fair Warning: this is a meat-grinder sort of game. As a member of the Imperial Guard, you are one of billions of soldiers marching across the galaxy to spread the influence of the Emperor of Mankind and drive back the foul enemies of humanity.

You are not a name; you are a number. You and your comrades fight and die in far-off systems and on worlds that mean nothing. You do it neither for glory nor rewards, but for every other citizen of the Imperium. Your unit will almost constantly be under-strength, under-equipped, and without a full chain of command. You will have to receive orders, take charge, and meet your objectives on your own in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. But if you succeed...you will have survived another day of combat where so many of your fellows did not!

This game follows the front-line trials and exploits of a single platoon among thousands, their linked missions moving them forward across the battlefield to eventual success...or ultimate failure.

We will begin once five people have created characters and have chosen/built their starting regiment.


The roster is currently full. If you are interested, keep checking in on us; there will always be room for a full complement of 9 or 10 Guardsmen who can post every other day and maintain an accurate stream of bullets at the enemy. ;)

Due to the normal attrition of 'not enough time', 'too many games', and 'personal life issues', we've lost several of our Guardsmen. There are currently four dedicated and competent soldiers fighting to retake a ruined fortress that has been overrun by a splinter tyranid swarm. They could use some help before the enemy reinforces its numbers! The group created a custom regiment that really soaks the damage and gives some good options for starting weapons.

Your comrade is your best friend. Your Commissar is your rock. The Emperor is your salvation.

The unit has not only survived their first two missions against Tyranids, but have almost half of the original soldiers still around! Unfortunately, those are the *only* ones left. Everyone else either died, was transferred, or lost the will to keep fighting.

Currently there are a few days of downtime while they resupply and spend their hard-earned XP, then back into the meat grinder.

You would be hard-pressed to find a more immature, yet high-spirited, group of Imperial Guardsmen. In fact, they've just been 'promoted' to a specialist unit, where gear is easier to come by, but missions are somewhat more...stressful. ;)

With the attrition that comes from online gaming, we've shifted the focus of the game from 'mass battle' to a squad-level RPG. We have three of our core players with the game, partway into their third mission - to enter an ancient mountaintop temple on this backwater planet and emplace a sensor/comms array on the top of it.

Of course...it's probably not going to be that easy, is it? ;)

I'd like to have 2 to 4 new Guardsmen join [plus their comrades, of course]. Straight up human soldiers - no Ogryn or Ratlings yet, nor Psykers or Priests or any of the standard support units. Those will be unlocked in the campaign after one more mission success.

As there are over 3000 posts now, the quickest way to get in is to join and start chatting with the guys in the game already. Stop by and say hello. Or cheers. :)

So...bit of a snag. We had three new guys join immediately last time [3 months ago], and two just quit because their lives are too hectic to continue gaming. Therefore I have two definite and one possible spot for new players. If you want to take over an existing character, I have a Sergeant and a Weapons Specialist available [which can be modified to your liking after the current mission ends]. Making new soldiers will delay entry by about two weeks is all [and the core players love assisting with character creation!]. We have both male and female guardsmen serving the Emperor.

Combat posts are every 48 hours, with very few exceptions. The game is 80% combat so if you can't keep up the post rate it's best not to take a spot that someone else could have, or would have, liked to be in.

At the end of the current mission the players will have access to Ogryn and Ratling comrades. Not yet - probably still two months for this mission to end, so for now it is still 100% human. Assuming the players survive, we move forward with the campaign!

The regiment is already created, and the available unit types are also listed clearly - meaning Guardsmen. Please do not ask to be a psyker, or commissar, or tech-priest. Read the Group Zero threads and if you're still interested, please drop me a line.
