The Fellowship Is Forming At The Sign Of The Prancing Pony

Nor has Eriador been spared by the growing darkness. The quiet and sleepy places there, like Bree and The Shire, have felt the uneasiness grow. Wolves and bandits plague the Great East West Road. Trolls have once again wandered south from the Trollshaws and Ettenmoors. Orcs and goblins from Mount Gram, Goblin Town, and Angmar are beginning to raid south. Rangers, sworn to protect the region through ancient oaths of old, have seen these things and spoken to Elrond himself. The Bounders that guard the Shire's borders have turned away wolves and worse of late. Many there talk of Bilbo Baggins, the Master of Bag End, and his recent... adventures and that this may somehow be the reason for the troubles.

No one knows for certain. Even the Wise argue among themselves and as they debate and bicker the Shadows grows ever longer... long enough to reach even the once peaceful lands of Eriador...

To the Halls of Zarak Dum I go...
Where the folk of Durin lived of old...
To mine the rich veins of silver and gold...
Until the Witch-king came ever bold...
The folk of Durin must then flee that hold...
Yet its halls are still rich I'm often told...
In a far away land of ever cold...
Where the folk of Durin lived of old...

The Fellowship requires but one more. Gandalf The Grey is up to his old tricks and needs one more of the brave free-folk to stand against the Shadow that is now slowly spreading among the peaceful lands about Bree. The fellowship consists of the following:

Gamwhich Sandheaver- Hobbit Scholar of Bree and cousin of Bilbo Baggins.
Erling Heathertoe- Bree-lander Warrior.
Helvorn the Ranger- DĂșnedain Wanderer who protects the region of Bree-land and the Great East-West Road.
Brandoin Ravensbeard (NPC), Dwarf of Ered Luin and treasure Seeker.

A Game set in Middle Earth using 5th Ed D&D along with the Adventures In Middle Earth by Cubicle 7. The game starts in Eriador but may go wherever the whims of the players, and Gandalf, takes them. Cheers

The Fellowship Is Forming At The Sign Of The Prancing Pony

Hey all! Looking for 3 players for additions to an ongoing game with a unique format.

The game is using Adventures in Middle Earth by Cubicle 7/ 5th Ed D&D modified to fit the setting of Middle Earth.

The Premise

Out of the Frying Pan Initiative

So, I've been preparing an all-Hobbit mini-campaign. The party will be playing a group of Hobbits fresh out of the Shire, sent on a quest by none other than Bilbo Baggins.

This is the form the party will have to sign to get going, I would love to hear your opinions on the matter!

The Out of the Frying Pan Initiative seeks to encourage young Hobbits interested in seeking adventure and all that comes with the title of Trouble-Maker, to widen the world view of the chosen Hobbits, and to underline the importance of seeing the wide world that lies beyond the Brandybuck. To meet this end, Masters Bilbo Baggins of Bag End and Balin, son of Fundin and Dwarf Guardian of Erebor, have decided to offer three (3) Hobbits their very own sets of adventuring gear and a quest to see them started.

The Quest

Throughout Master Baggins' numerous journeys and undertakings, he has made quite a few friends in quite a few places. It is Masters Baggins and Balin's desire that the Brave Hobbits meet some of these friends.
To prove to all, and not least to themselves, that Hobbits are bigger than they seem, the party is tasked with collecting the signatures of four (4) of Master Baggins' Esteemed Friends, who have all agreed to take good care of the Brave Hobbits should they knock upon their door.
The Hobbit-Friends are as follows:

Mister Tom Butterbur of the Prancing Pony, Bree (Grandfather of Barliman /edit)

Master Elrond of Rivendell, the Last Homely House (At Rivendell)

Beorn, Chieftain of the Beornings (At Beorn's House)

And lastly, the very fellow who pushed Master Baggins himself out the door all but five years ago,
Gandalf, the Conjuror (Wandering about, to be introduced when the opportunity calls for it.)

Upon the successful collection of these four (4) signatures, and upon handing this piece of parchment to Balin, son of Fundin, the party shall be rewarded most handsomely indeed.

I wish you all the luck in the world!

Signed, Bilbo Baggins, Bag End, Bagshot Row, Hobbiton, The Shire,

Also to be  signed by the Brave Hobbits themselves,
It's meant as a starter adventure for level 1 characters, with a lot of the encounters coming from the random journey events, but with side-quests and other distractions at each of the checkpoints. The end goal is to get them over to Dale/Lake-town for some adventures in Wilderland.

They may meet other PC's along the way to act as guides and guardians. Two of the Hobbits must be  Merimac Brandybuck, Bilbo's Emissary, and Paladin Took (both cousins and distant cousins of Bilbo). These are not pre-made characters only the names are mandatory to fit the story. The game is kinda of of a Sandbox where PC's adventure solo or together but trying to make Rivendell to form a fellowship. Send me a rMail with questions or interest. Thanks in advance. Cheers
