The Golden Colony
It was perfect. The small planet floating out in space, too distant for any mere mortal to touch in their normal lifetime. Augustus-47 had been off the map for all of human history. Yet, within twenty days of focusing a telescope at one small patch of sky, it revealed itself. A planet only a little over 2,000 light years away that was more than capable of supporting human life. In fact, the conditions for survival on Augustus-47 were more than optimal. They were perfect.
The Earth was dying, and though humans didn't have the technology needed to travel faster than light... There was a way to send ships full of humans to reach Augustus. Specifically, frozen humans.
Seven ships were sent into the black void of space, with no hope of returning to Earth, but a chance to allow for new life on another planet. For millennia on end the crews of these ships remained in stasis. Waiting without breath for the day that they would awaken and tread upon new soil. But when they arrived, the crew discovered something that they didn't account for:
They weren't alone.
