In December 2020, two large meteorites fell on Earth's surface one week apart from each other. One landed in Santiago while the other in Helsinki. The meteorites were found to contain a foreign type of prion which caused noticeable changes in the behaviors of the surrounding citizens and various domestic animals. The behavioral changes observed included the increase of aggression, lack of sleep and antisocial tendencies. Unexpectedly, tests have shown that the patients developed enhanced strength and senses after being contaminated.

The victims' conditions grew as time goes by, and the epidemic spread astonishingly quickly even after attempts of quarantine have been ordered. In late January of the following year, Chile has declared a state of emergency due to chaos from the spike of crime rates and animal aggression. Many other countries have also reported symptoms emerging from their citizens. Moreover, scans suggest that another asteroid containing the same prion will be on its way to Earth sometime in February.
