The Storm-Gates have opened, causing relentless akaname marauders and the mysterious sidhe to pour out into the unsuspecting borderlands in a deluge of blood, magic and chaos. The skies darken as the legendary and terrible leviathans return from their unknown hermitages in the cold and airless void, abducting entire populations of innocent souls to subject to mysterious tortures and trials in the lands beyond the unfeeling stars. And, worst of all, the Dark Empire rises from its forgotten strongholds, the blighted kingdom of Azule seeping into reality once again to enslave and mutate all who inhabit the sunlit lands of Sia.

All is not lost, however. In this classic swords and sorcery setting (created entirely and collaboratively by RPOL players!), players can plumb the depths of randomly generated wildernesses and dungeons, fighting back against the bloodthirsty and amphibious akaname, the enslaved subterranean duerga, the planar invaders of the Dark Empire of Azule, or any other countless monsters and tyrants - it's up to you!

Mechanically, The Reaping of Sia uses the excellent Scarlet Heroes rules (from Sine Nomine Publishing, though free Quickstart rules are available) for one-on-one swashbuckling fantasy. Using these light, familiar, OSR-style rules, your character will get a private thread to level up and grow. No bickering with party members or getting railroaded by the GM; you're the hero and protagonist of your story, and you can decide which quests to pursue and which to drop. Of course, this means you'll be alone against the darkness, and with no back-up, smart play is crucial. A single bad roll on the random encounters table can spell doom for a hero too stupid to know when to run!
