While the title is for this games previous name it has now remade for use with Matt Mercer's campaign setting.

Ten years have passed since the events that shook the contient of Tal'dori; The coming of the Chroma Conclave, the defeat of the Cinder King and of course the rise and fall of the Whispered One and his assault upon Vasselhiem.
These events and many more have been documented in the tome of Vox Machina's deeds told from the view point of Scanlan Shorthalt; perhaps some of these tales may have been exaggerated but many folks can confirm that if it was not for these eight brave souls we would not have this time of peace that has endured for so long.
You all find yourselves on a caravan bound for Emon, the captial of Tal'dori, however you find yourselves passing through Westrun and the town has finished prepareing for the Winter's Crest festival and as such the Cavaran Master plans to stay a few extra days in Westeun so that everyon has a chance to enjoy the festivities.
