Invasions, kidnappings, the annihilation of entire cities, a worldwide political power's fall from grace, a technological plan to reshape the world, the search for new beginnings in a world torn asunder by endless war. All of these things have come to pass in The Gift of Power's player-driven story since the game's launch two years ago. And now we, the game's players, want you to help us warp and reshape that story alongside the many heroes, villains, mercenaries, and soldiers who've already joined in on the action.

The game itself features a "Competitive Writing System," wherein all players involved in a player-versus-player conflict will post Non-Canon versions of a battle. A GM (or non-involved player handpicked by the GM) will then use three factors to decide upon the best version of a battle to use as the basis for their Canon version of that battle. Those three factors are the quality and creativity of the action, the respect and understanding they show to the other involved players' characters, and the story potential their tale generates. So far, the system has worked wonders in ensuring that conflicts are epic, detailed, and (most excitingly) consequential affairs.

So if you're looking for a game that will challenge you, encourage your creativity, and allow you to meaningfully create a world inhabited by many others, you're looking at the right page. But that's not all that can be said about the game. No - it also features an amazing player base that's always excited to help introduce new characters into the fold and get the gamers that control them involved, a well-developed, player-driven world that'll inspire your creativity, a defined set of limitations that'll make sure your character can't simply be instantly annihilated by more powerful ones, and "season" story threads that will help get you up to speed on the story.
