DnD 5e: Long-Lost Relatives

Your wealthy patron has a teenage son who is obsessed with ancestry research. From time to time the son unearths some information that could have implications for your patron or the whole family.

Thanks to your lucky retainer, you live a life of (very) modest leisure and can do pretty much anything you want until the patron summons you. Then she tells you what her son has found and asks you either to investigate or to "set things right."

This is D&D 5E starting at Level 1 XP 0. While I would prefer to use only the PHB, DMG, and MM, realistically I know people love their supplements, so just be ready to give me a link to legally available information on the supplement material you're using for your character.

Need players to turn NPCs into PCs

The game is now at 13,000 posts and is called "The Endless Wood." It has changed since it started. The seven players playing eight characters don't all work for a wealthy patron, and only one was assigned to investigate genealogy. Even that quickly fell by the wayside as a country that has enjoyed peace since its founding seven generations ago is suddenly at the start of a complex civil war with many different factions and alliances. The RP is medium-intensity, the intrigue is ramping up, and what has been little combat so far is going to increase. The players get along great even though they're all different. Some post very often and some less so, but I'm keeping it all organized with their co-operation.

There are some NPCs who are important or could become important, and I'm asking if anyone wants to take them over and play them as PCs. The character descriptions and sheets for them are light on the mechanics and heavy on the nuance, but both can be discussed with you and adjusted. I need to be careful about inviting people to this game, so it'll be a bit of a process to invite you. Part of what will happen is giving the existing seven players a chance to ask you questions until they're satisfied that they're okay with you playing with them.

Here's a bit about the characters:

-Cafiu Greenhill, a twentysomething halfling female, currently 0-level but training in the use of disguises and in the Thief class. Her new boyfriend is a PC and is training her. The player of her boyfriend faces challenges in reading and making posts, and you will have to be sensitive and respectful about those challenges if you play Cafiu.

-Eria Revienne, a thirtysomething tiefling female. She was born in a fel realm and wielded powerful fel magic before she lost most of her tail and began a transformation into goodness that expelled her to the gameworld. She spent 14 years as the ward of a kindly gnome hobbyist jeweler before a being from the fel realm located her and "punished" her by banning the gnome to his chosen afterlife. In revenge, she used her powerful fel magic for the last time she ever can in order to destroy the fel being and seal access from the fel realm forever. Then she colalpsed in exhaustion and is currently recovering at a temple with no memory of anything that happened before. She has not been conscious during gameplay yet and will begin gameplay when she regains consciousness in the temple. She is a Good-aligned Acolyte and has access to cantrips but not spells yet.

-Hazel the Ladle, a middle-aged half-orc female who may or may not have strangled ogres in her youth. Born to an orcish mother, she rose to warchief of her small orc tribe and introduced the customs of her nonviolent human father, causing her parents to be slain by the orcs. After punishing the killers, she arranged for her replacement as warchief and went to live among the PC races, first as a hunter and laborer, then as kitchen worker, and finally as cook at a tourist and recent arrival inn in the capital (port) city. As warchief she was a Level 6 Figher but has not fought as a Fighter in 15 years and her skills are really rusty, so her charsheet will need adjustment with player input. Her first loyalty is to the inn but she does have loyalty to the current government. She has met three of the PCs and others may be vaguely aware of her. Her name comes from her current chosen weapon, a long-handled stone ladle never used for food, which she uses as a Maul when restoring order among troublemakers at the inn.

In your RTJ please tell me how often you can post and what leads you to believe that you'd have a good feel for the character and be good at playing her.
