There are a lot of good reasons to study the martial arts. In addition to the health and self-defense martial arts can teach discipline. Many people enjoy pushing themselves to the limit, or have aspirations towards stuntwork, competition, or security work.

A big city like Chicago has a lot of options, and you can find an instructor for almost any style. Make your choice carefully, though - behind the scenes many of these schools have fierce rivalries, competing to prove whose style is strongest.

In Way of the Warrior, the characters play martial arts students who've been given the opportunity for some extra training. Their journey will pit them against the city's other martial artists, while showing them glimpses of a world of power they'd never dreamed possible. Gameplay balances martial arts action, investigation, and mundane sequences involving the characters' day to day lives.

WotW is a 4e GURPS game, but new players are welcome - I'll keep the mechanics hidden if you like, or teach you the system if you prefer.
