(DC Comics) A World In Need... A World of Justice...

"Dateline: Metropolis! Governor Shuster confronted by a mysterious costumed hero! An unidentified, superhumanly strong individual dressed in a distinctive outfit broke into the Executive Mansion last night, pushing his way past security... to present late-breaking evidence that saved the life of heiress Evelyn Curry! Shuster has issued a $100,000 reward for any information leading to the location of this individual and has been quoted as saying, 'I don't know who he is, or what he wants. I don't know if he's even on our side. But he saved me from making a big mistake...and I want to find and thank him!' Let's all hope you get your wish, Governor!

Dateline: Madison Square Garden! Henry Armstrong beats Barney Ross by judges' decision..."

That was the News of Action! newsreel from May 31, 1938, still preserved and watched by those with an interest in when the first Age of Heroes began. It was truly a golden age...an age of hope... an age that would not be seen again until 1997. And that age still goes on today...

Speaking out of character as the game's Monitor, if you join, welcome to Earth-14, the setting of JUSTICE LEAGUE: LEGACY. It's an alternate DC Earth of my own design (and yes, I'll release the timeline once everyone gets settled in) similar to both the pre and post-Crisis DC Earths (and in one particular case, the New 52 Earth, at least for Gotham's Court of Owls.) But one of the things that appealed to me most was DC's sense of legacy to its heroes, that each and every heroic name, or at least heroic archetype, could span over multiple generations. To some, that's a drawback. To me, it's a selling point, because it allowed me to learn about heroes like Alan Scott and Jay Garrick, who are still among my favorite heroes to bear those names.

Yes, the newsreel above is meant as an homage to Action Comics #1, obviously, and it is meant to suggest there was a 'Superman' around during the World War II era. But if someone wants to play the modern day Superman, *that* Superman could have been someone unrelated, but similar. Kryptonians could be long-lived enough to seem immortal to humans. Or it could even be Jor-El.

So, yes, that is one of the key points of Earth-14. Any canon hero could have a legacy of their own stretching back to World War Two, from the Flash and Green Lantern to Superman, Batman, even Wonder Woman. But I, as the Monitor, want to work with the players who want those characters to decide what that might be.

Now, why is this called Justice League: Legacy? Not only because of the nature of this world, but because... congratulations! After a recent Crisis on Earth-14, the Justice League of America has been forced by circumstance to disband. You, as one of this Earth's heroes (OC or canon,) are now being asked by further circumstance (in-game) and by me, as the person running this game, to bring your character into a new JLA. To be one of Earth-14's greatest heroes. Will you accept? Will you be a part of the Justice League's legacy?

((By the way, don't worry. Once we have a team of five-seven, I will release Earth-14's timeline.))
