Looking for young adults bound for a new planet!
In the year 2XXX, denizens of an alien colony made contact with Earthlings for the first time. Whether it was out of fear or awe, the UN and other world leaders quickly assembled an intergalactic foreign affairs division to discuss further relations with these aliens. Due to a mutual interest in both parties, they were able to exchange research personnel and other diplomatic figures. In later years, this exchange would then be dubbed as the Earth-Seru Alliance.
Forty years from then, research personnel discovered an atmospheric component in Seru that utilized the serine contained in humans. This atmospheric component was then named merikyme. Merikyme stretched the limits of humans’ reality and revitalized the fantastical stories that held no scientific boundaries. They could fly, they could create fires, manipulate the air and water - anything as long as their bodies were able to endure it. This new discovery terrified and excited both of the involved parties. There was too much potential to simply shy away.
Both parties communed with each other and established another large exchange of personnel. Earth was to assemble a group of young adults to live on Seru and establish themselves in this trading hub of a planet. They were to represent Earth and would be expected to conduct themselves as such. They would be the future scouts and explorers, researches and doctors, educators and diplomats that pushed the boundaries of the current knowledge that both planets held. In exchange, Seru would send their own technological advancements and personnel to further Earth and its ability for intergalactic communications as well as ensure the safety of the students.
Assembling the selection process took time, and while countries had the freedom to set their standards they had to adhere to the deadlines that the alien planet had set.
The education of mind and body was harsh and strict, and many children who initially qualified dropped out of the program well before they could proceed onward towards the middleman planet that would serve as a place to vastly improve their skills.
You are one of those lucky few students that have worked hard and diligently to visit the new world. You have struggled and endured the years of training on Earth, on the middleman planet, and are now awaiting for the final exam that would finally grant your desire to trot on new soil.

The current game does have an overarching plot in mind, however, I would love for the players to add some input and bring in some of their character's own personal plot hooks. Bring room for some progression!
