How will you survive crash landing on an unknown planet?

An interesting concept, but I could use some more details.

The Earth was dieing due to pollution and collapse of resources. The New Earth Coalition, a united earth political conglomerate sent the last of humanity out on colony ships all over the galaxy. But, something has gone wrong with your colony ship and it has crash landed on an unknown planet.
