High level D&D 5e Game - Long live the Queen

"Long live the Queen!"

It is a call of nationalistic pride in every church and tavern all over the kingdom of Prythain. And they mean it. Queen Elswyth is the longest ruling monarch in their recorded history, and she is much beloved by the people. Under her rule, many progressive reforms have bettered the land, and she has kept foreign influence out of their homeland. During her fifty two year reign she has guided the country through more than a dozen wars, and yet she always leads them to certain victory. Or, close enough of a tie to not be called a loss anyway.

But such times seem to be coming to an end.

Queen Elswyth is old, and it is whispered that her days are furthered numbered from having contracted consumption. With no clear line of succession, her death will surely throw the entire country into upheaval. But Queen Elswyth is a stubborn old warhorse. She will not go down quietly, nor without securing her legacy.

Her enemies abroad sense weakness, and have been making subtle plays to lay the groundwork for establishing their power after she passes. Already a bank or two from Pariani is trying to inaugurate itself into Tarrin. Missionaries from the Zarusian Church seem to be in endless supply these days. Eberhardt isn't even trying to hide the fact that it wants to plunder the vaults of the Royal Tarrin University of Engineering for themselves. And as always, Malinov simply wants to rule the world. Be it through force of arms, or establishing a puppet ruler.

Black Pox ravages the countryside, witches are being burned in record numbers as the Witch Hunters gain power, and all contact has been lost with the colony of Elswythton established in the Virgin Lands to the far west.

In such times, the Queen can only rely on those she trusts most to carry out her will, and save Prythain from the ruin that would fall upon her.

----------------------------------------------------

This is a 14th-level D&D game set in a 1600's Elizabethan-esque setting. The players are agents (soldiers, handmaidens, spies, etc) in the service of Her Majesty as they attempt to enforce her will and keep the country safe against foreign and home grown threats that would destabilize the nation.

Oh, and it's totally a period of Witch Hunts, plagues, and bizarre things creeping in from the edges of the map.

Think Three Musketeers meets Solomon Kane.

If that sounds like something you'd be interested in, come check it out and drop an RTJ.

Hope to see you there!

High level D&D 5e Game - Long live the Queen

This is a reboot of a D&D 3.5 game.

3.5 wasn't really working with the style of grim, low magic that I was trying to create. So we are going to try it with 5e.

We are looking for 2-3 more players.

Drop a line if you are interested!
