Among The Stars
Zerontium, a very rare material found only in a few star systems in our galaxy, and always in small quantities. Its discovery on the pole of Mars in the late 21st century changed our understanding of physics, and created wave after wave of new technologies and scientific advancements.
The Qalix Cluster is a newly opened cluster of stars, the Hyperstring Resonance enabling Jump Ship travel to the sector was calculated by Star Alliance scientists last year -- but the data was stolen by Hegemony agents soon after. Unmanned probes have indicated that the Cluster has an unusually high density of Zerontium -- and that Precursor ruins have also been detected, scattered throughout the system.
Xyrus Station, a neutral star base located at a Deep Space hyper-node with Level One entanglement with the Qalix Cluster string, has become like the boom towns of Earth's Gold Rush era. Officially part of the Mercantile Union and thus Neutral to the conflict between the Star Alliance and Galactic Hegemony, Xyrus Station struggles to maintain its independence despite the intense desire of the two powerful interstellar governments to claim the station as their own jumping off point for the conquest and exploitation of the Qalix Cluster.
And so it is there that our story begins, at Xyrus Station, on the verge of exploiting the resources of a new cluster, exploring ancient and dangerous ruins, and dealing with the intrigue between two distant but incredibly influential interstellar governments.
