Premise:
The Minoan Star is a state of the art asteroid mining platform located on 1459 Magnya in the Sol asteroid belt. In most ways it is the same as every other mining platform. The mining is fully autonomous, the asteroid is being devoured from the inside out, and the raw materials are being launched into a lunar orbit where they will be collected. What makes the Minoan Star different is that it is also the home to a research expedition. As it turns out, 1459 Magnya is near unique in this solar system, and part of the contract that gave Taurus Industries mining right was scientific oversight.
Four years. That’s how long you will live in this body that isn’t yours, doing the kind of work that will set you up for life. Despite the fact that your original body is securely resting in stasis back on Earth, this is hardly the safest work out there. 1459 Magnya is literally breaking apart beneath your feet, and if something happens to the transmitter there will be no return trip for your consciousness back home. It’s hardly a surprise that the comm systems get more love than life support.
Still, life on the Minoan Star should hardly test you. Resources are plentiful, the colony is comprehensive, the auto-surgeon is the best money can buy, and should that fail there are a number of backup shells available. And even before you were broadcast out here you received detailed and comprehensive training. You are ready for anything and everything.
You weren’t ready for this.
Anesidora's Vault is a directed, free form horror RPG. In this game players will assume the role of members of the local science team on the asteroid 1459 Magnya or the troubleshooters sent to investigate once the facility goes dark. The game is free form in the sense that dice will not be used to dictate success or failure. And as a directed game, the plot will be driven by the GM rather than being player created. This is also a horror story; NPCs will die en masse, and though PCs will have a little more plot armor, players that are uncomfortable with the possibility that their character will die should look elsewhere. Finally, this game is also rated as Adult since horror and sex go hand in hand. But that's not to say this is an eRPG. If you looking for a game where the primary focus is the sex, this is not for you either.
