A story set loosely in The Walking Dead universe detailing the story of a group of survivors in Pennsylvania. With a safe zone established and some semblance of safety achieved, the question is, who else is out there?

This game and story will replace the omnipresent threats of Bad Guy Group #7 we're all familiar with from the comic book and television show with environmental concerns. Characters will have a relatively safe home to retreat to and do not need to fear another Governor or Negan coming to stir things up; instead procuring supplies, water, growing or scavenging food, and handling hot summers and cold winters will be your primary challenges, all while beleaguered by the undead scratching at the gates.

The players will be able to refine some basic GM-provided options for the settlement to ensure this safe zone is a place they can one day call home. Beyond the environmental threats outlined above, characters will be scouting for news of the outside world, searching for suitable satellite settlements to establish or trade with, and interacting with one another in typical dramatic fashion.

Canon characters from TWD will NOT be included in this story in any fashion. This is our story.

After an introduction period of chaos and fighting, the characters will find the settlement in its infancy and work towards establishing it as their own. A significant time jump of several months or so will occur, and the game calendar will then be current with far more modest time jumps of hours at a time (except when we need to move forward a longer period of time).

Appropriate characters include just about anybody. We'll need nurses and therapists and lawyers and bartenders as much as soldiers and police officers and survivalists and criminals, but above all else I will be striving for a consistency in theme and setting that, as a television show, TWD never achieves.

The game is rated Adult because it's an Adult game for the Adult reasons.

Initial RTJs from the date of this post (3/26/2019) will be reviewed and accepted on a case-by-case basis until three weeks (4/16/2019), at which point the game will officially begin. Further applicants will need to wait until the safe zone is established before being added. This three week time period is to ensure everything is in order and ready to launch.

All players who meet the requirements of writing in an Adult game are invited to apply, but I must stress that I will not be accepting weak posts. Three paragraph posts are the minimum; I'd rather not include a minimum word count, but it should be evident that I want quality writing in this game. Your initial RTJ says a lot about your writing, and it's the first impression!

Finally, Posting rate will be relaxed. A few a week is suitable with periods of faster posting mixed in with short breaks. The most lasting games I've seen on RPOL are more relaxed to prevent writer burnout.
