Noises Below
In the village of Rootberg old lady Maude has been complaining of strange noises coming from here pantry, "Somebody been digging around in my pantry! Drow slavers are coming to steal my turnips! Or maybe giant rats are burrowing in! Maybe its one of those undead wizards who has awoken from his sleep!" People ignored her for a day or two but then she came back to the inn claiming to all the patrons that there was a large hole in her pantry and all her food was gone!

Bernie, the local sheriff went over with this two deputies and found Maude's pantry had indeed been cleared out. And indeed there was a small hole, big enough for a gnome!

"Bloody gnome subterranean bandits it is! I just guard the village, underground bandits aren't in my job description!" claimed the sheriff.

However enough of the villagers are worried that these underground gnomes are going to strike their pantries next. So the village has chipped in 100 gold coins to try and hire some adventurers to explore old lady Maude's tunnel.

Looking for 4 players (there about) to go and help a poor old lady get back her turnips!

I am happy if you throw just an idea at me, or a full blown character sheet.
I wont be taking first come first served, but I will try to find the requests that best suit the game.

Starting level 1.
prefer player's handbook stuff, but may consider other material.

Roll stats in game or take the array suggested.

starting gold and equipment as per player's handbook.

This is a home brew world.
