Re: Chapter

Aside from the first night, Prizzard seems to act the same as usual aside from approaching Halek for a short talk the second night and disappearing for a few hours the third night. He prefers morning guard duty as usual and prefers to watch the surrounding area.

Re: Chapter

Despite all his training, mental but also physical, and autohypnosis skills  the toll of the nights is slowly showing on Raknesh too.  It does not surprise him to see Stefan apparently more affected.  It is how he interpret the strange talking to himself in unknown languages.

Rocky's senses very acute however limited in range, didn't perceive anything either. Nor did he, despite a good part of his training being on seeing through deception and illusions.

But there WAS something, and his inability to find it rattled him more than the troubled sleep.

He hoped things would settled a bit in a more populated area...

Projects: try to get some real sleep in a room full of light^^ Then talk with Halek about their next destination. Then look for horses and provisions.

Re: Chapter

The town is fair sized, large enough to have a variety of merchants and the like in case you are after anything more...obscure. You settle at an inn called The Kicking Ram and find rooms easily. The town itself has people from all walks of life and it is an easy place to blend in, for which you are grateful.

In regard to Raknesh and Stefan's situation, Halek recommends finding a necromancer or some such person and getting information as to whatever is following them. He may not be willing to impart the information easily but I'm sure you can be convincing. he smiles in amusement. It will be a hassle, but until we know what's going on it may be our only option. I would like to head towards the next temple soon, but if there is someone nearby who can help first it may be better. You two aren't exactly at the top of your form like this. He gestures to Fin then. Fin has been dealing with...some issues. He's fine for the time being but I would like an escort with him at all times, even when sleeping. I'm sorry Fin, but it is important. he adds.

If you wish to find a necromancer, I suggest we start putting our ears out for one. Surely this town is large enough for some gossip. Jett suggests helpfully.

ooc: If anyone wants to find gossip roll a gather info please. Feel free to explore and the like as well.

Re: Chapter

Prizzard plans to do a bit of shopping.. Seeing what merchants will pay for the ring, 4 longswords, 4 daggers, 2 shortbows, 2 quivers of arrows, and see what I can learn about this black powder. And then look for a few odd items..

Re: Chapter

Raknesh nods his agreement with Halek's plan.

Before everyone disperse in the city, he asks they find an inn to serve as the rendez-vous point in the evening. He also ask Rocky to stay with Halek. That way they would be able to stay in communication should anything happen, or if one of them found something useful and/or urgent.

That being done, he will wander a bit, looking for both information and wondrous item merchants. N

17:15, Today: Raknesh Kaltash rolled 7 using 1d20+1. gather information.
well... good sight and stealth skills, but not good with people^^

Re: Chapter

Fin shrugs his shoulders at the suggestion of his needing an escort. "Well at least it beats being tied up." He says that part almost like he's trying to force himself to be the merry young man who mistakenly happened upon a not so abandoned temple. "But as I have said before master Halek, I defer to your judgement in such matters"

Tanzy seems none the worse for ware after the encounters at the temple. She tries to keep a cheerful attitude and will pitch in to help out to try and give those who aren't doing as well a break. In town she does some "exploring" gathering any gossip that may or may not be useful and will also help search for a Necromancer.

Re: Chapter

Prizzard: Your shopping excursion goes well. It seems the merchants are fairly willing to haggle and they have well stocked shops...

Raknesh: You search the town and find much to look at, including merchants with wondrous items, but you do not come up with anything of interest other than rumors of a necromancer in the general region but no one can give you anymore than that. As you finish up with your shopping you suddenly see a woman who looks familiar. Her back is to you but as she moves into a profile position you recognize her as Ezran! The woman who was possessed at the temple when you first started this quest. She does not appear to see you.

Fin: Halek gives a thankful nod at your cooperation and steps in to speak to you privately. Keep me appraised if you start feeling strangely Fin. Let me know immediately. In the meantime, the order of your dreams tells me you are about to have some things revealed to you that I would rather be kept secret. You'll understand soon enough. When this happens, wake me. I will need to explain what will be revealed to you. he shakes his head. In the meantime, stick with Loden. He's one of the most capable fighters I've met and I think he will be able to keep you in control if anything should happen.

Tanzy: You look about and hear some general gossip about a necromancer up north but it's difficult to get an actual location.

Stefan sat in a quiet corner of the bar, keeping himself to himself so as not to inflict his grumpy company on others, he was nursing a drink and trying to stay awake.

Re: Chapter

A bit annoyed by the fact almost everyone knew there was a necromancer somewhere but no-one knew WHERE, Raknesh almost missed the encounter.

Cursing silently about the fact they were scattered, and even more about himself for not using his mental power to link everyone's mind. He still had the good idea to leave Rocky with them.

Of course, Rocky would have been incredibly useful in following discreetly the woman, but one can't have everything.

'Rocky, tell Halek and the others with you that  I have spotted Ezran.  I will follow her.  I couldn't do anything the last time we met, but know that I can dispell possession, I must save her.'

Raknesh moved quietly, following Ezran and hoping an opportunity will present itself.

Re: Chapter

Prizzard shops a long time and has surprising success with haggling. None of his new items really stand out.. A different, but still raggedy old cloak, a plain belt aside from three small pearls, a dirrerent pair of dirts boots, one heavy brown glove, a simple unadorned ring, a bulge under the heavy glove that could possibly be another ring, a small earring, and oddly no scythe. He tosses a small crystal to Tanzy. "This will make your weapon more effective against the undead. It's called a Truedeath Crystal, the most potent the woman had."

Re: Chapter

Raknesh: You manage to follow the woman without seeming to be detected. She seems very focused on getting to where she's going. You follow her to the rich side of town and soon she disappears into what looks to be a noble's house. There are two guards who recognize her and let her enter. It is not heavily guarded though despite the soldiers and you think with your slippers you could always enter via window if you needed to. You also notice she looks extremely tired and her face is haggard and almost traumatized looking, though her eyes are full of determination.

Everyone: By now Prizzard has returned from shopping and only Jett and Raknesh are still out. As you regroup from your day's events, the crystal creature of Raknesh's suddenly informs Halek clearly that Raknesh has spotted Ezran! Some of you will know who he speaks of but for the newer members Halek explains she is a former comrade who was possessed months ago and has been missing for some time. This is grave news indeed and it means that if she is about she is not likely alone...Shae must suspect you are here. Can you ask him where she is? He can't do this alone! Halek asks Rocky with worry. We have to help him! he turns to the rest of you with a pleading look.

Stefan: During this new revelation about Ezran and Raknesh you suddenly see a familiar woman enter the inn. It is Raina, on the earthly plane! She looks weak, pale and exhausted. She puts her finger to her lips for you to keep quiet and then walks past you and towards the innkeeper.

"Thanks!" Tanzy said examining the crystal Prizzard had tossed to her. "I'll pay you back once I find something equally useful" she added quickly not wanting to seem like a freeloader. News of a woman named Ezran peaked her interest. She didn't know anything about her but if the rest were going to help she'd tag along all the same.

Raknesh got Rocky's message and tried as best as he could to indicate the place he found.  Rocky should be able to guide them to him as they get closer.

He agreed to wait for them, at least as long as nothing happened.

Re: Chapter

Halek seems insistent on joining Raknesh quickly and so everyone but Stefan makes their way across town after Halek gives their location so the druid can join them later. By the time you get there, Raknesh is waiting for you and you find you are in a rich area with a fine three story house in front of you, guarded by two men in front and two in back. What is this place? Loden murmurs. I would advise against just breaking through, though I'm sure we are strong enough to overpower the guards easily. But we don't know what awaits us inside. Remember, I was in her position once before and from what I do recall, we did not travel without assurances of our safety. She will not be alone. he adds darkly.

ooc: Let me know game plan, you can sneak in, bluff your way in, fight in, spy a bit, whatever floats your boat!
Stefan: The innkeeper seems happy to take your money and Raina does a good job of ignoring you as you go about your business. May I get my key please? You said room number fifteen correct? Thank you good sir. she addresses the man and with a small nod she heads upstairs.

Should you follow her you will find her room easily and she lets you in quickly.
The fact that you are alive tells me you've taken my advice. she arches an eyebrow.

Re: Chapter

Raknesh didn't like to wait for the others, but as he really wanted them to succeed in freeing her, he forced himself to stay put.

"I think I will send rocky first. It's tiny feature will allow him to go in there stealthily and I will be able to see everything. Once we have a better knowledge of what to expect, we will decide what to do."

That being said, he gives Rocky instructions.

"Roger, chief!" he said. "Infiltration in progress!"  the tiny crystal being then fly/climb on the wall to the best entrance.

Stefan glared at the woman, twitching slightly in exhaustion.  "I did, but that doesn't explain why neither Raknesh or I could find you again or how you are here."  Stefan bit the last off abruptly shaking his head before continuing.  "Sorry to snap at you Raina, I'm very tired and seeing you here shocked me into losing my temper.  It is good to see you again, though you don't look well.  Does that mean the bastard is here too?"

Re: Chapter

Rocky disappears inside the fine house and reports as he goes. The place is apparently minimally guarded once inside and though a fine place like this should be  bustling with servants and people it only seems to hold about twenty or so people, many of whom are guards. Rocky does find Ezran at last and she appears to be in a conference with three other people, one of whom you realize is the powerful sorceress you faced before, Rallia if you remember correctly, the one who caused Halek so much fear. If the other two are anything like her you have a hefty battle ahead of you. Sneaking may well be the best course at this point. In the meantime Rocky hears some snippets of their conversation. Apparently they are in search of your group, the boy in particular interests Rallia who seems bent on finding him. They speak of Shae being angry at them for not stopping you at the first temple. It would seem they will try to make things more difficult from here on out. As the conversation continues, Rocky reports that it shouldn't be too hard to enter from a window on the side of the house.

Fin: Halek muses over the question. Perhaps. If he cannot then I'm sure I can work something out with Prizzard, though it may take time. he pauses. It's...taking it's toll on you now isn't it? he looks sad.

ooc: If you guys decide to enter you will need hide, move silently and search checks if you are inclined to do a bit of poking around.

Stefan: Raina looks a bit taken back by your snappish tone but quickly recovers.
No, he's not here. He cannot enter this plane himself, though he can manage enough to kill you under the right circumstances. It is he who haunts you with his presence, though he has been trying to track you this entire time. I've thrown off your scent as well as I can but that can only last so long. She sits down, looking weary. I thought I could help you from the other side but he has been tracking me too. I knew if I wanted to help you I would have to come here. I gave up my immortality for this so I would appreciate a bit more patience. she arches an eyebrow. I'm not used to my mortal limits and I think I may have pushed myself a bit more than I should have. she takes off her cloak and rests her head against the wall, looking weary. There is a way to shield you from him though. I just need a few things and I can't get them on my own.

Stefan had already looked sheepish at his snap to the woman, but he looked truly stricken with grief at Raina's words.  He hangs his head in shame as he speaks quietly.  "I told you that you shouldn't have helped me back there, I knew it wouldn't end well for you, and now look at all you have done.  I owe you too much already Raina, you know that.  Tell me what I can do, and if it is in my power I will do anything you ask."

Raknesh relays Rocky's observations, much to his dismay.

"It appears you were wise to tell me to wait." he began, cursing a few times under his breath while getting the intel.
"I don't know what we could do... I could easily sneak inside, but I don't know if I could get her without causing some trouble... and we have no certainty regarding the effectiveness of my blade on her, especially so close from the sorceress..."

He paused for a few seconds before adding:
"It pains me greatly but the sanest thing to do would be to leave this place, find the necromancer and hurry toward the second temple before they set too many traps..."
