Re: Chapter

Raknesh struggles a bit to keep with Prizzard, which surprises him a bit, as he is quite fast.

He does, however, arrives soon enough to see the boy struggle as Prizzard keeps a hold on him.

"I don't know what this is about, but you better let him go" he says, trying to keep his voice neutral.

Re: Chapter

The boy doesn't struggle much when he clearly can tell that Prizzard has him. He turns to Raknesh with pleading eyes. You both don't understand! We've got to get everyone out! She won't bother them as long as they don't try to stop her getting to me. She's only after me, I've got to get away from here! He sounds terrified. She'll make me go back, I can't go back! He shakes his head. If she didn't see where I am I can still hide and you can get the others. Can we just run? Please? Please?!

Re: Chapter

Prizzard lets go of Halek and begins to walk back to the inn. "Running is for the weak. You can only become stronger by making a stand." Upon making it to the door: "Besides that, I'm not done eating."

Re: Chapter

Raksnesh shakes his head.
"Although I do agree about the fact running from your problem doesn't often help solve them, I do think there are circumstances when fighting is not an option."

He looks at Halek before continuing.

"Many strange things have happened in the recent days, much of those I do not understand.  What I can say, however, is that I trust Halek's judgment.  If he advises to get away, I will follow his advice."
He raises a hand to prevent any comment.
"This will need some explanation, in a more secure area.  We must get to our companion and bring them out of the city, so I suggest you go back to finish your lunch and warn them. I will wait with Halek and get more on that woman.

She is bound to try to follow, and the more we know, the better. Until then we shall avoid her.  But if she hurt any of us, then we shall fight."

he finishes, looking grim.

"What do you think?" he asks Prizzard

"I will get some horses on the way and secure some provision with the priest. That way we can leave immediately, find a remote place and sort things out."

Re: Chapter

Stefan felt the sweat on his brow again as he looked at this woman who was making so many threats.  what is wrong with me, is it her?  Does she have so much power that I am unable to even feel it, while my body reacts anyways?  He pulled power into himself, preparing for something big to happen, to go wrong.

Re: Chapter

Tanzy snorted rudely at the woman's remarks. "I never had much use for nobles and their self important ways." The thief's hand rested lightly on the hilt of her rapier. "As for your threats you are more than welcome to try," she emphasized the word try, "to take Halek. Though prepare yourself for disappointment because in the end I'd wager it won't be happening today."

Re: Chapter

Stefan, Tanzy, and Prizzard: The woman's eyes flick to the three of you quickly, noting Prizzard's return and his words about the boy. Halek.... that's what he is calling himself then? Interesting..... She trails off lost in thought, but Tanzy's less than acquiescing words snap her attention back to the present. Puny woman. She snarls, her dark eyes flashing dangerously. I do not fear you. Any of you! He is not far, anyone who aids me will keep their life. Otherwise a rather messy example will be made out of you. She looks at the three of you, but her eyes stop on Stefan for a moment, almost as if noticing something for the first time. There is a hint of a grin on her lips at seeing him but it disappears rather quickly. Now wretched woman, stay out of my way. Tanzy, you feel suddenly as though you are being strangled, your whole body is paralyzed and every muscle tenses as though in extreme effort and yet not moving at all. White hot pain sears through every nerve and it is an effort to remember to breathe, let alone move.

Stefan, when the woman looks at you, for a moment all you want to do is join her. It is like seeing an old friend again though you've never recalled her face before now. You find yourself standing, ready to assist her should she need it. For some reason the name Rallia enters your thoughts, though she has never named herself yet.

Prizzard, you watch all of this unfold before you. The woman does not register you as a threat yet, so the next move is yours.

Raknesh: Halek looks at the inn worriedly but stays back. Am I a coward Raknesh? Do you think they'll be alright without us? His eyes stay wide as he continues. I sure hope they don't try anything stupid....

Re: Chapter

He removes his hood then picks up his cup and weapon on the way past their previous table. He speaks rather calmly before finishing the cups contents. "Kill us? Some self-proclaimed goddess hunting us hasn't managed that yet." Coming close enough to noticed Tanzys tense form and lack of comeback, he drops the cup and begins casting a spell. With completion, the scythe surges with arcane electricity.

Move 15'(?)
Talking during movement as a free action
Cast Shocking Grasp

Hopefully I'm within 20' of the group.

Re: Chapter

"As I said, sometimes, real courage is knowing which battle to fight, and which to avoid.  And we already have enough on our plate not to add anything if we can avoid it."

He pauses for a moment before adding:
"Still, I would like to hear more about this situation later, when you are ready."

As Halek mention the trouble the others could put themselves in he sighs deeply.

"I do not know them enough to tell you that.  I would be happy enough if they are smart enough not to reveal any information about you..."

Re: Chapter

Tanzy: You manage to brace yourself against the pain being inflicted, and you are able to shake off the effects of that particular spell. However, you find you are unable to move, even to talk. It is frustrating to the extreme given the situation.

Prizzard: As you attempt to grapple the woman, she manages to evade your grasp, but she looks surprised at your brazen attack, as if she can't fathom the audacity of your actions. Though you are terrible to behold and your ferociousness is making many around you look more than a little nervous, the woman seems unaffected, though you certainly have her attention... she hurls a fireball at you that blossoms around you, catching the tables and chairs on fire as well. ooc: reflex save please

Meanwhile, Stefan clearly is not himself. Rallia gives a triumphant smile as she readies for her next move, calling Stefan to her side.

During all of this, Loden and Jett have joined in the fray and they have drawn their weapons and are attempting to flank her. Loden even manages a hit with his blade, though Jett was unfortunately a bit too close to the fireball and has likewise taken damage. All around is pandemonium as inn dwellers rush out of the building and into the street.

Raknesh:
Halek looks down at the ground at your questions. I will tell you what I know. Soon. You deserve that much, though honestly I dont' remember a lot. He shakes his head. As he speaks he suddenly looks up sharply behind you. You turn to see a burst of flame flare out of the doorway of the inn and soon people are piling out in a terrified lump, trying to flee in terror. Something tells me they may have let a thing or two slip.... Halek responds to Raknesh's comment about keeping secrets. Come on! He doesn't look happy about it, but he rushes off to the inn, which fortunately is not far from where you are.

ooc: Ok, here's how this is going to work. Roll or post your next three rounds and intentions. Please keep me appraised of how many hit points you have left, and remind me of your defenses too (including any temporary ones that may have changed due to penalties throughout this fight) it goes much faster for me this way. Stefan, you will be on Rallia's side for the next three rounds, so feel free to attack your fellow friends (NPC's are fair game too). At the end of it though, roll another will save for me. Let the battle commence!

Tanzy's mind was racing with anger a frustration as she was unable to move. There was also a flicker of surprise at Stefan's defense of the woman. 'We know who the possessed one is,' she thought to herself. Things were not going well at all.

Re: Chapter

Running toward the previously quiet and now burning inn, Raknesh materializes his weapon. He regrets not having imbued his blade with more mental power when they had the time, but doesn't dwell on it.

Getting inside, he quickly scans the area and, should he see who is threatening the party - most probably the woman - he will launch one of his psychic projectile.

Stefan will wait watching the party he had known for such a short time, and as soon a Raknesh throws the weapon, his features will shift and change into those of an enraged bear as he moves to attack the man.

Re: Chapter

Prizzard: You manage to dodge a bit of the fireball thankfully, and though the pain sears through you, you know it could have been worse. The woman is being flanked by Loden and Jett, which is most helpful as you charge forward to attack. Your first attack is successful and she shrieks in pain as the shock moves through her body. She is more nimble after that, however, and she manages to protect herself enough to concentrate on her reaction....

Tanzy: Despite the spell's power, you are able to overthrow it with surprising quickness. During the fray Loden shouts to you Stefan is not himself! Help Raknesh if you can!

Raknesh: You have come upon a scene of chaos. Parts of the inn are burning and people everywhere are fleeing. The woman seems to have her hands full but she has a lot of life in her yet, despite the blows your companions are making. Your attack is unfortunately dodged, and as you prepare another you see Stefan changing into a ferocious bear that does not look pleased to see you.....

Everyone: Meanwhile, the woman, to your shock and horror, turns toward Jett and moves forward to touch him. He stiffens suddenly as her mouth opens impossibly large and swallows him whole! She immediately returns to her normal state, but Jett is nowhere to be found....With a chilling smile, she then raises her hands and suddenly a blade made of three feet of disembodied gnashing teeth appears in her hands. The mouths scream and chant loudly, almost making you want to run right there. This is your last chance to give up the boy while you still live. She laughs.

ooc: Everyone just roll one round this time along with intentions. To recap, she's a bit wounded but not too bad, Jett is swallowed, and Stefan is in the ready to attack Raknesh.

Re: Chapter

Raksnesh can't believe his eyes.
Turning to Prizzard he yells "What happened to 'get away discreetly'?!"
He curses as the blade misses its target but quickly materialize another.
The threatening growl from the bear worry him a bit, worry confirmed by Tanzy's warning.

Whatever he planned to say stays in his throats as he witnesses Jett's fate.
Wondering with a sour taste in his mouth if the teeth are his, and if it could be possible for the man to still be alive he angrily throws another, less powerful, blade toward the woman.

Stefan looks dangerous, but the woman is much more a threat and he takes the risk of suffering wounds from the druid to try to end her life faster.
