Re: Chapter
Now that the decision has been made, you press forward to the inn. The days are fairly uneventful, though you do see that Stefan is very weak and he has a high fever. He does not stir or open his eyes once during the whole journey. It is as though he is dead. Only the rise and fall of his chest indicate any sign of life, and even that is subtle. His bear is constantly at his side, somehow looking sorrowful in spite of being a bear. At least you don't appear to have been followed by the woman, though Halek has been very silent about the whole matter. He speaks only when spoken to and often looks distant.
By now the temple has come into view. It is a marvelous looking thing, though quite ancient. It shows signs of better days and has long ago been disused as a popular place of worship. Generally now it is only inhabited by monks and clerics who are trying to study it's history. Hopefully one of these can heal your companion. As you get closer though, you find it to be eerily silent. The stables are full, though the horses look in need of feeding. The holy men's quarters are empty, though their belongings are still intact. You find moldy food in the dining hall, though it is only just beginning to turn. The air is still, yet full of danger. And something else. Evil.
