Re: Chapter

Apparently, Raknesh's decision was sound, as the creature - what the hell is a banshee... Prizzard would have known... - yelled her curse.

The more he walked, the more he was suprised.  He had no idea he would arrive in such a 'normal looking' world.

Still, prudence is a wise option, and he decided to try stealth.

Re: Chapter

Tanzy/Prizzard:

As you consider what to do about the sighting, you hear a rustling in the trees about fifteen feet away from you. You look up sharply in time to see another white skinned figure. His black eyes narrow sharply in irritation, obviously he was not wanting to be heard. He draws two swords and strides forward with confidence.

ooc: Roll initiative please as well as your first attack!

Raknesh: You seem to have an easy time of slipping by the townsfolk unnoticed. They consist of hooded figures with hidden faces. There are not that many at this point for as you look up the hill at the castle there is a large locked gate. The robed figures are pushing violently against it as though trying to get at something inside. Stefan's trail leads within...The rest of the castle is surrounded by a wall. It does not look too high, perhaps there is a way to climb over it.

Re: Chapter

PM
Stefan's eyebrows shot up in surprise at his cleaned arm, but swiftly followed Raina and his expression hardened when he saw there exit strategy.  He took a deep breathe in as he charged the plate glass with her and as she grabbed hold of him to take the fall for the two of them, he acts out of character, attempting to do the same for her, a woman who would betray her loyalties for someone she didn't even know.  Sadly acrobatics were not his strong suite, so the attempt was clumsy at best.  As they fall, he locked gazes with the beautiful women and as he screamed with the adrenaline of the moment it came out in a question.  "Why?!"

So a 20 on my constitution check and a 12 to try and take the fall for Raina.
13:31, Today: Secret Roll: Stefan Aruello rolled 12 using 1d20. tumble.
13:30, Today: Secret Roll: Stefan Aruello rolled 19 using 1d20. +1 constitution.

Re: Chapter

Prizzard stood equally confident and beckoned the being, allowing it to either close or wait before he took action. He would draw, take his weapon into an offensive stance while speaking one arcane word, then as the blood erupts from it's edge it would easily find it's mark, but be lacking in damage.

rolled 4 using 1d20-4. Initiative.
rolled 29 using 1d20+10. Attack.
rolled 13 using 2d4+6. Damage.

Re: Chapter

Tanzy cursed softly and quickly whipped out one of her rapiers. When the creature is close enough she will spring forward to attack and then quickly back again to avoid his attack. This was obviously going to draw the attention of the one inside and she wanted to be ready when the woman appeared. "We can handle two right? Prizzard seemed confident, though he was strange enough that it really wasn't very comforting. If any more appeared she would blow her warning whistle for the others.

Init 21 (18+3)
Attack 32 (20+12)
Confirm critical 20 (8+12)
Damage if critical 9

Re: Chapter

Prizzard and Tanzy:
Tanzy is the quicker of the two of you and she lunges forward, bringing her rapier across the man's chest. It is a good blow and he looks startled, but he is nowhere near down. Now that she is out of his range he surges forward, bringing his blades around in return to slice at her, hitting her thigh, though not squarely. Prizzard's attack is true as well, striking him in the abdomen and you can see a spray of black blood from it's pale skin. By now you can see the female running towards you in the distance. The fight is far from over.

ooc: Round 2 please! Also, be sure to keep me abreast of your current hit points in each post so I can keep track.

Re: Chapter

Prizzard and Tanzy:

The female should be within range soon. She is alarmingly fast. Meanwhile, the male takes damage from both of you, though Prizzard's is by far the stronger of the two attacks. Tanzy only lightly slices him, but at the moment he is more concerned with Prizzard, and lashes out with his blade, slashing him across the collarbone. Fortunately there is not too much power behind it as he is still reeling from his wounds. His second attack misses completely.

ooc: Next round and keep in mind the woman will be in range next time.

Raknesh: Your climbing attempt fails, though you are sure given enough time you could succeed. Unfortunately time is not available for you at the moment for as you attempt to ascend the wall and slip you hear a noise behind you. It is a single hooded figure who has spotted you. It is walking towards you quickly, it's arm outstretched. Before you can react though you hear another noise to your right and you are amazed to see a doorway open up in the wall where there was nothing but stone before. Two figures emerge and the door disappears once more. It is a wounded woman, limping badly, though she is the most beautiful woman you've ever seen. With her, to your shock and relief, you see Stefan. It is a short lived victory though, as the hooded figure is quickly approaching.

Stefan: ooc: Since I'm obviously joining you back with Raknesh you can post normally now and not in private message ;)

Raina leads you down the courtyard and to the wall that surrounds the palace. She talks as she runs, though she isn't very effective at either. If we can get you back to the forest we will be safe from the king's men there. Not to say something else won't kill us, but at least we won't be followed. She gasps painfully. Getting there is another matter though. Do you think you could focus like you did before? When you healed your arm? You may have more power here than I realized. If you try hard enough you may be able to regain your powers. She winces as she puts her hand on the stone wall. She mutters what sounds like an incantation and suddenly a door opens. She pulls you through it quickly, not waiting for a response as she is clearly eager to get out of the palace grounds. As you emerge through the door you are utterly shocked to see Raknesh of all people! A short distance from him one of the robed townspeople is approaching him quickly.

Re: Chapter

Stefan ran next to her holding his own ribs and wondering how to help when he saw Raknesh and stopped for a second in shock at seeing the other man here.  He shook his head and focused on what Raina had said, doubling down his will as he considered what to do.  His first instinct was to cloak them in mist, but he had no idea if the spell was prepared as he had no idea how long he had been here.  He almost immediately threw out the idea of summoning aid, the touch of the man in the hood would probably be just as deleterious to them as it was to him, and he was still unsure about doing so.  That left magic to himself, which he preferred as his will only had to work within his own form, something that might be a bit easier in this strange land.  His eyes half closed as he moved towards Raknesh concentrating on his magic and his form attempting to shift as he cried out to his companion, "Don't let it touch you!"

23 or 25 whichever be appropriate.  If that is enough he is shifting to a pony, so as to help Raina move faster.
20:57, Today: Stefan Aruello rolled 14 using 1d20. +9 will or +11 concentration, whichever is appropriate.

Re: Chapter

Tanzy/Prizzard: You both  miss your attacks, but only barely. The man manages to evade slightly before bringing his blade into Tanzy's shoulder. Fortunately it is not enough to slow you, though it certainly doesn't feel nice...Meanwhile the female has reached you too and she hits Prizzard across the thigh with her sword, though he manages to evade the brunt of it, making it a fairly minor wound. At the moment you only see two of them, but that doesn't mean much. Prizzard in particular knows from experience that they tend to travel in groups. If these two aren't scouts you are in trouble.

Raknesh/Stefan:

At last Stefan is able to truly harness his magic again and transforms himself into a pony. Needless to say it feels good to have your powers again. Fortunately Raknesh is still focused enough to be in touch with his mind blade and though it takes a moment it does materialize. Raina draws a wicked looking short sword and stands in between you and the figure. Stop! I command you! She growls, looking fierce in spite of her obvious wounds. The thing pauses but only for a moment, before it throws back it's hood and lunges toward Raknesh. It is a skeleton, though the bones are black and the eyes are red coal like orbs. Hundreds of runes are etched into the thing and a feeling of pure evil emanates from it. Raina manages to strike it and it recoils with a hiss, but only momentarily. It smells the life in both of you. We need to get out of here before he attracts any others! ooc: If you wish to attack go ahead and make your roll, otherwise let me know if you plan to run or both, etc

Re: Chapter

"Fine, I'll take more care!" Taking a deep breath, he assumes a defensive stance. This time he strikes out with a more measured blow. Hoping that he took down the man at last, he steps around the woman while refreshing his spell, making a good opening for Tanzy to either flank or flee. This time, there is much less blood flowing down the blade.

Re: Chapter

Tanzy/Prizzard: Prizzard's blow strikes true and he nearly falls from the blood loss. He swings wildly, attempting to catch one of you with his blade and steady himself at the same time. He misses. Tanzy's final slash does him in, and though he is still obviously breathing, he falls limply to the ground. His companion gives a shriek of fury and attacks Tanzy, cutting her flesh with alarming accuracy. The first blow hits across your side, but the second is even truer and she slashes you right across your belly. You can feel blood starting to pool down your front, but fortunately you dodged it just enough that you are not mortally injured yet. Much too close for comfort though. At this point there is just the female left, but she starts to let out a horrific screech, and you worry she is trying to call others.

Raknesh/Stefan: ooc: I'm going to assume that you'll take Raina then? If I'm wrong let me know and we'll adjust the post.

Raina manages to scramble on with surprising quickness considering her injuries. Most likely it is adrenaline, for her eyes are shining with it. Run! Don't be distracted by anything. We are only safe from them in the forest! She instructs, gripping Stefan's mane tightly as she clings on for dear life. Behind you the skeleton thing is already in pursuit, but fortunately it is not as fast as you and you can see him falling behind. The main problem, however, is the townspeople. They still are attracted to the smell of living flesh and they start to congregate towards you with outstretched hands. Stay close! She barks to Raknesh, cutting limbs from the hooded figures as you gallop by. Above you, the sky turns black with angry looking clouds, obviously nothing nature ever concocted for they gather around the tower at the palace. No doubt the King of the dead is unhappy with this turn of events. He means to pursue us before we get to the forest. Raina says in a tight voice. By now you are past the town but there is still a goodly distance between you and the gate to the forest. At least the figures have been left behind for now, though you can see them attempting to follow in the distance. The sky begins to crackle. Get ready for it!

Please roll reflex saves as well as any intentions you  may have. Once again, if I jumped the gun with Raina riding I will go back and edit the post.
