Svlad also looks might displeased at the mention on no reward but tries to stay calm for now.

"So Herr Doktor.....the other gobbo killed in the warehouse...did you see the corpse?  Why would there be more than one of them?  Perhaps someone else should be informed.  From the sounds of it perhaps your beast escaped before and mated...or else the beasts are not as uncommon as you think."

Re: Schaffenfest Freakshow
"Easy there big fella," Doctor Malthusius says, momentarily backing away from the angry Randulf. "Here, have some brandy and calm your nerves," he adds after rallying his spirits as he hands the middenheimer a glass poured from a nearby bottle.

"I think your quarrel is with the city and not with me. I take it that they've denied you your payment then?" Malthusius asks as he takes a sip from a brandy glass of his own then holds the bottle out in an offeratory gesture to everyone else.

Then addressing Svlad's question he says, "No, they wouldn't let me have the body back, despite my requests that it be returned so that I could use it as a static display. I can assure you that the chances of there being more than one of my three legged goblins in this town are almost nil. I daresay they rejected my requests because they didn't have the body... from the looks of it there wasn't much of one left after whatever you ran into in the sewers got finished."

"Didn't someone find something in the room with the...um...remains? Like a cloth with letters?" Connor asked his group.

Svlad has no ideas and thinks long and hard.  He eventually motions the others close so he can whisper to them.  "Do yeh trust that one?  Maybe he might have an idea about the snot rag?"

Re: Schaffenfest Freakshow
Randulf cooled himself with the drink offered by the doctor. He still couldn't believe someone turned down the reward. It was years works worth.

With the mug in his hand Randulf turned to the doctor "Is the gobling your first problem in this town?" he asked the doctor "What can you tell us about the people here, anything that caught your attention? A frequent customer?" he continued. A man who dabbled with daemons might have had an interests with the freaks on this show.

Re: Schaffenfest Freakshow
"I'm afraid I haven't much to tell," Doctor Malthusius answers apologetically. "The Schaffenfest had just started yesterday and the goblin escaped during only my second show. I had arrived in town only the night before and I can't recall any person that sticks out to me during that time."

"What I don't understand is why I was told that the goblin was killed in a warehouse when it seems that you have a set of remains that you retrieved from the sewers. What purpose did that lie serve?"

"That is what we are trying to find out. Losing that reward has got me right pissed off an' I plan on hurting whoever done it.  That warehouse might be a good place to look.  Do you know where it is Herr Doktor an maybe who was there at the time?"

"We can split up, some people head to the wharehouse, I for one will be checking the taverns." Connor says with a smile. "I have a few gold left after shopping, and ale tends to loosen the lips. What were those letters again?"

Re: Schaffenfest Freakshow
Malthusius looks upward and puts a finger to his lips while he searches his memory. "I think the watchman who told me that the goblin had been killed said that it was crushed in warehouse number four. As for who was present, I didn't think to ask. At the time I didn't think they would have any reason to lie to me, and to be honest I'm still rather vexed by it."

"Someone with the right connections might glean some information from the criminal underworld," Doctor Malthusius musingly adds almost as an afterthought. "Such folk often have knowledge of shady dealings and deception. Perhaps they know the angle behind this."

"I'll join to the warehouse" Randulf said. He needed some time calm down and the guys needed someone who could read should they find anything.
