Re: OOC Game related
Hopefully grim grin yelled out in time. Dwarves are more accustomed to dealing with it, so I figure Grimgrin could make a common knowledge roll.

Re: OOC Game related
I like it. Most people of The Empire wouldn't know what it is but it seems quite logical to me that if anyone would, it would be a dwarf.

Re: OOC Game related
You picked it up. Don't worry too much though, one touch isn't going to mutate you... too badly. Mwahahahaha!

Just kidding, you'll be fine, just don't eat it or start wearing it around like jewelry.

Re: OOC Game related
Hmm.
There is no door from this room to the central hexagram room ?
I must have a completely wrong picture in my head :-(
We had the library spanning 180 (and I assume 90 each to west/east)
This room spans 90
We have covered the whole west angle
So that door you do mention really faces straight east.
quote:
Three sturdy wooden doors are set in the walls, 1 to the north, 1 to the southwest, and 1 to the southeast.

You're right. I forgot to mention that other door! I edited it into the description.

Lothar Gluhend:
Lothar looks at Ulrich. This might be a heretic book containing dark knowledge. He wished he could read so he would be able to identify such work of the Ruinous Powers.

I love that the Warhammer world is dirty, brutish, and ignorant, but from a player standpoint the high level of illiteracy sure is frustrating!

In reply to GM (msg # 755):

Shrug.
It's okay, otherwise scholar'ish' careers would be boring ^^
I wonder if we can convince Ulrich to learn Classic ^^

Re: OOC Game related
My character can help with books of the dark magic arts, there are always some broker or buyer in any kind of goods. When they meet. Unless one of you can deal with the dark underbelly of polite and civil society aka Thieves'. For a cut of the profit. ^_^

Anyway what are you noble knights or something, money is money take that chaos stone it would sell well on the black market likely very well. I don't care if the item goes to some Chaos Mage somewhere as long as she gets enough gold. ^_^

It called having very flexible in ones morals.

There is the delicate matter of actually needing to handle the thing before being able to sell it ;)

Re: OOC Game related
See a harmless tome on alchemy a science which can sell for ample gold coins, you would never want to toss it that's a lot of money. Get more books those sell for ample gold. My character can help there being worldly in the seedy underbelly of polite society. (rubs her hands thinking of that gold)

Re: OOC Game related
Doh.
That was ... unexpected.
Ulrich being able to discern that that tome is dealing with necromancy.
Shudder.

Then again, I suppose it's essential knowledge we need to have later on and thus GM was lenient and gracious and had to compensate for our lack of 'appropriate' education otherwise.

So, we clearly have some Wizard there, and a Celestial one at that given all that astronomical stuff on the walls. Though, to be fair, that campaign was written before they made that distinction, so the point is most likely moot.
That Wizard obviously dabbled in Necromancy, too.
Still no sign of the sixth rod, though :-(

Re: OOC Game related
Noooooo. All that gold ... your supposed to be money seeking adventurers and if that book had original research to the right party it would be of high value. (face palm)

Sorry. Might have jumped the gun there. Svlad does want to get away from the warpstone though.

I hear ya. I'm transitioning right now from being a night shifter to a day shifter and it's rough. I have a few days off to do it in though, so my posting will probably be either super frequent or non-existent depending on how hard my circadian rhythm fights me.

Does Connor's Evaluate give a price to the books they've found? Or the maps?

Re: OOC Game related
My bad, I missed the evaluate roll. *rolls some dice*. You were able to set aside 9 books from the library that looked to have some value, with a combined estimated value of 120 crowns. No real value to the other items.
