Adam Looked over  from his Black neon. He smiles  a bit  and shouted over,"..watcha thinking?.." he begins to walk over  watching some of the others  file out in pairs or one by one...most of the  folks  who did not grab attention  talked amoung themsleves, some waved halfhertedly..most just ignored the  smallish  wideout.

"..thinking of playing...or just thinking?"  he half  smiles.

"Thinking. Playing naturally follows into that, and what I'm going to say at that interview. Hell, what I'm going to wear. It's all swirling about in my head."

Kat's eyes never left the stadium, even as she spoke to the person who was speaking to her. She took another sip of Gatorade and continued her gaze.

Re:  Off duty..other then specific threads

Marcus left the stadium with his Dragons bag swung over his shoulder. He wore a black Dragons fitted hat and a long-sleeve Dragons thermal undershirt. He tossed his bag in the back of his black, 2010 four door Wrangler jeep. The tags read "1TUFSOB". Marcus straightens his jeans down over his boots and pulled his stetson hat off the passenger seat. As he placed it on his head he caught sight of Kat and Adam. Tipping his hat to the two of them he nodded a greeting.

Sliding up into the seat he started the jeep, lights a smoke. He needed a nice cold beer and being new he wasn't sure where to get that. Pulling over next to Adam he leaned out a bit and asked. "Hey guys you wouldn't know where a guy can get a cold one would ya?"

Kat finally took her eyes away from the stadium, the visions of the gridiron fading from her head as she looked at Marcus. She shook her head and drained the rest of the Gatorade bottle.

"No clue, but I wouldn't mind finding out."

Grinning at Kat, " you are a football player..they are going to  talk to us before  practice...I'm gonna  wear T-shirt and practice pants..they want something else? they need to tell me..."

Bronk  nods  and waves his thanks," So..do we  what to try the  Rising  Son?" as he looks at his teamates.

Adam walked about  the field, now  and  again he would  sprint, hit  a one man sled  and  sprint more, then hit  another and  drive it  back.

Then take a  moment, and do  the same thing on the way  back. There were a few of  the D-line  and O-line, that had no where to go as well. And  they were hitting  the weights down in the lower corner of the endzone..

there  weren't  many of  them left. most have gone off to deals, or home. just a hand full worked out since there  seemed nothing better to do.

Re:  Off duty..other then specific threads

As the day went on, those who stayed to  work out, moved on to  thier places they set up for the season, some went to The Rising Son. Business had grown there, since it was the unoffical hang out  for Dragon's  players.

The film room was busy though Adam sat  in the Upper  row, several Notebooks by him as he ran though discs of DBs  from around the league. a few  rows  down from he sat Stalls, Simmons and Mackins...There!...see that...Indy CB...23...when he is in Zone, he stands with both  feet at shoulder width,  In man, his Inside foot his back a step...

Simmons shook his head  and  begin to write, as Adam used the clicker and lser pointer to show the differance,...sheesh,,how do you picks  stuff up like that....

Adam shrugged  as he eyes  studied the next DB,used to like to play ..'spot the differances' in those  kids magazines  when i was  small..

After  about an Hour  the others  left , thanking  Adam for the time. Bronk stayed another hour or so, then headed to his apartment. He checked his Cell for messages, took a shower  and heated up a TV dinner. sat back and turned on the TV...ESPN was showing some baseball highlights, but the crawel across the  screen got his attention. Gearhart was released  by the Dragons...and Picked up  by Dallas.

Re:  Off duty..other then specific threads

Adam watched  some TV, tossed another DVD in his player with DBs  from the East Divison, made  some more notes and quit after an hour or so.

He walked out the door of his townhouse apartment, Looking  across the expanse of the Lot and seeing  the Stadium . A  smile  came to his  face. For  right now, this was home. The Amota's  and Sims  brought him here. His talent would have to keep him here.

stepping in his  neon, he drove to the Rising Son to get something to eat. It was going on 9:00pm. The  people were arriving. Music  was being played in the Nightclub, but  right now...all the wideout  wanted  was something to eat  and to relax. Settling  down  in a booth. he waited his order, drinking a coke.

Re:  Off duty..other then specific threads

Kane sauntered into the restaurant.  He paused for a moment inside, letting his eyes adjust to the dimmer light.  Clad in jeans, sneakers, and an extra large black tee-shirt with the word "Player" scrawled across it in silver font, Kane surveyed the scene, like a giant looking out over his kingdom.  The lights from the disco twinkled on the large gold chain and cross hanging from his neck and on the diamond earrings in each ear.  A look of recognition flashed across his face and Kane brushed past the maitre-de who approached him, making his way over towards Adam's booth, ponytail bobbing as he walked.

Without asking for permission, Kane slid into the seat across from Adam, just barely squeezing his large frame into the booth's seat.  He let his meaty forearms come to rest on the table as he looked over at Adam.

"Adam, right? You're wide receiver one? Thought I recognized you, man! I was starting to worry that I might have to actually eat by myself.  Not used to that, ya know? Course, I always got a few honeys on speed dial I could dial up if I was desperate!"

Kane signaled for a waiter and ordered a beer for himself before pointing at Adam.

"What you having, brother?"

Adam  chuckles a bit, Don't know  about the wide out one..but i'll be on the filed  for certain..

Holding up  his coke,soda..my weak spot. Don't drink any more not for..hmmm..close to 5 years now.

The  server nodded  and wrote  down the drinks,  I have Mr  Bronk's order? What can i get you?. A three section menu with three pages each. One section "American " food. One section Japanese, and one  section "Tex-mex"

Adam points to the menu,..lots of good stuff there. I stay in the Japenese section for the most part?  But I hear the Tex-Mex stuff is good, if you don't mind it burning a hole through your insides.

Re:  Off duty..other then specific threads

Kane just nodded his head at Adam’s decline of a drink.  Normally, he would have pressed someone to have a drink with him, but the way Adam spoke, Kane got the impression that there was a story behind Adam’s refusal.

Glancing through the menu, Kane chuckled at  Adam’s comment.

”I do enjoy the spicy stuff from time to time, though we actually don’t cook that spicy out in America Samoa.  Grew up more on fish.  Which is why this new promotion I got with these local Japanese restaurants works out well.  I can actually look into the camera and compliment the sushi and mean it.”

Kane handed the menu back to the waiter.

”Is Yako working in the back? Good, tell him that Kane is here and for him to make me one of his chef’s choice platters.”

Kane took a long drag from his beer before wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.

”So, what’s keeping you busy during our off-time? I was in town for a few days, doing those Japanese commercials.  Normally, I spend my downtime back in California or back home in Samoa.”

Re:  Off duty..other then specific threads

Adam  smiled and nodded to Kane,  nothing much really. Never been down here in my life. Until i get to know  my way around, I just hand  at the complex, hitting sleds  running, watching  films..By tomorrow, Coach Nevers  should  have  the Last DVD i need for this year..ever DB  and LB in the league...and  some wideouts too..In case i get to do some spot duty ...

Yuto will like  that you have a favorite here.. The more players  that come here..well..its his goal to make this  place the Dragon's hangout..keep the folks  away from Old JAcksonville...still alot of bad feelings  over there..But? Once  we start playing, alot of that will go away.

Tilting his head he says, slowly...as if  trying not  to be too nosey You know...most of us  are  oddballs for one reason or  another..I am here because  Yuto  was my teammate in college, and I played against Sims's team..played for him for a half season in Japan...played one  season in Canada...any other time? No one  would have thought  twice  about me..I would  have  a Canandain  Football Carreer...some of the Old  Jags on the team are here cause the...'saw the light'...most everyone else, 'cept for Steele are longshots  or misfits...If i remember right..You had a lot going for you..why come back here?

Then he  Grins  as he finished  his  soda. replaced within seconds  by a Young  Japanese server girl who bowed  and smiled,..don't  get me wrong...its good that you are here...but man..it must feel like a longshot to you?

Re:  Off duty..other then specific threads

It sure sounded like this guy was dedicated.  Kane smiled slightly to himself.  Most of his coaches probably would have liked him to have a little more dedication like Adam did.  He had always been told he had God-given talent for the game, but his work ethic was desperately lacking.  Seemed like this little guy in front of him was just the opposite.  He was doing all the things Kane should be doing.

”I guess this little town does grow on ya, after awhile.  Don’t mind spending some of my downtime here.  Though I guess I will always be a California and island boy.  Sounds like you have bounced around enough that you could call anyplace you lay your head home.”

The waiter returned with a sushi tray full of different rolls.  Kane took one before the tray was even on the table and popped a piece in his mouth.  As the female waitress was about to leave, he requested that she bring some saki over, along with two cups.  He then turned his attention back to Adam, still munching the roll.

”Why am I here? Well, for one, the Jags drafted me and had me signed to a rookie contract, in which I am in my second year.  I had a few discussions with my agent about asking for my release when the whole change of ownership thing happened.  But with the economics in the sport and the injuries I had my rookie year, we weren’t real sure I could get a better deal somewhere else, even though my contract was reworked to be real incentive-laden.

I appreciate what the Dragons are trying to do here.  But let’s be realistic, Adam.  Guts, hard work, and determination can only take players as individuals and teams as whole so far.  There has to be some talent somewhere.  I know the front office likes to put out this whole scrappy underdog image.  But if they actually put a team of nobodies on the field against NFL level competition? They would get killed.  I mean, I would be shocked if we finished 500 this year.  So they obviously know they have to have some superstars at key positions.  And you could call anchoring the defensive line a key position.  So I guess that is why I am here: good pay and a chance to make a difference on a team that might be a contender in a few years. I wouldn’t be a superstar on any other team I went to.”

Kane munched on a few more rolls.

”Except for maybe the Lions! Anyone could shine on that train-wreck!”

The waitress returned with the saki and left with a bow.  Kane poured a little into each cup, then raised his up in a toast.

”Hey, have one drink with me, huh? Let’s toast to this season.”

Re:  Off duty..other then specific threads

Adam  chuckled as Kane spoke, Sims..and for what it  seems...Lewis..they are aiming  for heads, as  well as hearts. Take  La Roi there...  Adam motions to the  tall Black wideout who came in, girl on each arm..He waved  to them as the trio moved into the club section.

If that guy didn't have the hype he had in college..and wasn't  drafted  as high as he was? He  would be working  at Walmart...But he's  starting to get it...Maybe  he'll catch  half the passes throwen his  way instead of 2 out of ten

This year...This year we need to shine, No matter what the end result is..we have to beat folks up...and take what beatings  are handed to us..and come back for more...then..the pendullem will start to swing. There  are dozens of players out there who would love to play for a team like this...to earn the big paycheck, and  not try to act like there is nothing  wrong with getting  a few hundred thousand dollars  a year, while most of the folks watching you have to sweat thier next house payment...

He tilts his head and  frowns  abit. One  of the few times the little wideout might have been caught doing so, Home? Yea..In PA is my home. Only my brother  and his family there..everyone else is gone..some  cousins  scattered though Ohio and  PA..but? My home  is where my jersery says it is...

Adam looks at the  saki cup, and  smiles  a bit. Taking it up  and nods To the Season...to the Dragons.. no prisoners!

Off in a booth, a bit diagonal from the  two sat Sawyer and  one of the Yuto's  secrataries..she noted  Adam raising his  glass with  Kane, and  took some notes.........

Re:  Off duty..other then specific threads

Looking out over the football field, Rebekah Eleanor Lee, PR for the Dragons scoped out the stadiums statistics. Namely max capacity, the quality of the seating, the efficiency of where everything was located, and other various factors that many NEVER took into consideration outside of a few 'good' contractors, feng shui practitioners, and then people like herself... People who had the job to make sure that every thing is where it would be most efficient and thereby increase the consumer's reviews. Effortlessly she breezed through the schematics on her pda and found that everything was checking out satisfactory.

"Call Mrs. Fields," Elanor requested into her blue-tooth as she continued going over schematics...

"Calling, Please hold," The male's voice of her 4g phone responded in turn. The voice was an upgrade and talked with a Scottish accent. A fresh toy that she initially drooled over before caving in to purchase it.

Suddenly the sound of a few emails hitting her inbox drew her attention as the phone chimed in simultaneously, "Contact made with Mrs. Fields. Patching you through now."

"Mrs. Fields, hi, I'm calling on behalf of the Jacksonville Dragons and we decided that we have EXACTLY what you've been looking for...," Scrolling through her emails, Rebekah noted several personal invites to social events, which she then selected and drug to their respective folders and then separated the ones related to the dragons into their own file; all the while negotiating with Mrs. Fields royalties and the usual shop before wiggling a little metaphorical hook that she KNEW Mrs. Fields would be unable to resist, 'FABULOUS, she swallowed it hook, bait, and sinker!'

"Pleasure doing business with you Mrs. Fields. What? Oh no, no, I couldn't. Mixing business with pleasure is never a good thing... Okay," Rebekah laughed lightly before continuing on, "Ok, got to run. Yes, yes, I promise I will not come alone this time. Tell Mr. Fields that we thank him for your conjoined contribution and support. I've got to go Mrs. Fields, I have someone trying to ring in. Have a wonderful day." With that she ended the call.

Taking in a refreshing deep breath, Rebekah sat herself upon the nearby seat, placing her pda away and closed her eyes just for a few seconds. Tilting her head back, she took a deep inhalation of the beautiful fresh air on this sunny day. Today she had decided to wear a three piece charcoal colored suit with a skirt, instead of the more recent fashion of trousers, which complimented her complexion and overall coloration. SO far she had managed to accomplish a full days work in just half an hour and everything appeared to be looking good.

Re:  Off duty..other then specific threads

A voice from above her came with a bit of a chuckle, So? Miss Lee...You Like our new Home? Yuto Amota looked down from a few rows up, a clipboard underhis  arm and a cell in his hand.

Nilie said You would  be a good addition to our Dragon Family. She has a good sense of  such things...

He sighs as if he remebers  something, tucks the cells into its holster on his belt, then flips through the clipboard, Adam-son has inadvertantly set some things in motion, that I was not ready for as of yet...perhaps? You could handle  these? IThey seem to fall under your umbrella...

Stepping over the chairs' backs  as he looked at his clipbaord, it seemed to her, that he has done this often enough  to feel secure of not tripping and falling down. Once he reaches her he Pulls out  two sheets of  paper, This one, Mr. Tibbs  and Mr. Worth are making appreances at two Boys  and Girls  clubs. The newest one, in New Jacksonville. They had taken  two jetrseys each...for each club? However...Mr  Powl has asked if  we might get a jersey of  Miss DAwlish to each of the clubs? Perhaps you could  get apair, and have her sign them, and either deliver them or have them Delivered? he hands her that sheet.

as he flips  thorugh his metal-cased clipboard he pulls a second sheet,  Benny's Toy Store, in New Jacksonville has asked for Adam to be thier pitchman... he shakes his head and  smiles  slightly at her,Adam...is not very outgoing...unless it has something to do with football...If Nilie or I asked him...he would do so. But..I would perfer not  to make him feel he must, Simply because we asked it of him? Perhaps....You might  find a way to get him to take the job? It is not  big money like some of the players are getting...I think, next year, he will get more. Once the people see him play...

Running his hand through his hair he stands one more, giving her Adam's  sheet as well. He bows  slighlty as he says Perhaps...if you can do these? I will be able to funnel more of such things to you.And spend more time on the football operations?

he begins to walk down the ailse towards the steps that lead up to his Luxerybox-office,perhaps?  We shall see you at The  Rising Son? The few players  that are left around here now, tend to migrate over at around 8:00 or so....it will get busier in another week when mandaory Minicamp starts...

Re:  Off duty..other then specific threads

"Mr. Amota," Rebekah replied in her smooth and educated tone, almost as if she had expected his arrival as his laughter reached her ears. Opening her eyes, she gracefully stood, and turned to face him. "Yes, Mr. Amota, so far everything seems to be up to par, and falls within regulations. Not that I expected anything less mind you." Rebekah added in a warm and professional manner.

She noted the clipboard and cell that he carried on his person habitually as he descended towards her while mentioning his wife's approval of her skills, "She's a good woman and I've enjoyed the moments in passing that we've been able to speak. As for my qualifications, you both already know of my capacities of turning a corporation from the red to the black, or I wouldn't be here speaking with you right now." Her tone still carried a bit or warmth to it as she responded to the compliment given her on the part of his wife. However, there was far more than just feelings involved in the hiring of an individual to perform a job. Especially when the face of a corporation depends upon an individual to run damage control and insure that they remain seen in a good light. "However, I do appreciate her sentiments upon my addition to the team."

With a nod of her head, Rebekah steps forward to help close the distance between herself and Mr. Amota as she saw him sigh and began shuffling through the papers of his clipboard as if he was disturbed by something. Watching as the Asian man began stepping over the stadium chairs, Rebekah didn't show a sign one way or the other if she was impressed by his feat of balance and agility, or to the negative side of the spectrum and chastise him for his foolishness and the risks posed by his actions. Once they finally met, she then stood nearby him looking at the cryptic shorthand that he had taken on the matter.

At his suggestion for her to handle the affair with Adam, she simply nodded her head agreeably, "It is what you hired me to do Mr. Amota." She said courteously with a slight touch of humor to her voice as she accepted the two extended pieces of parchment and let her eyes scan over them again.

Looking down at her trusty wrist watch, she then tucked the two sheets of paper that she had been given in regards to Mr. Bronk, pulling out her pda, and efficiently gleaning essential information on her recently acquired to-do-list. "I can meet up with Dawlish in New York as she is wrapping up with the Late Night Show. However, I feel that before I address her, it may prove more prudent if I speak with Mr. Bronk first concerning his actions while bringing to his attention the toy store."

Her brow furrowing a bit, she looked up at Mr. Amota, "The information that I have about Mr. Bronk is very sketchy and leaves much to be desired if I am to act as a muse and inspire him to present himself in a whole new light to the public. Do you have any available background information that I can possibly come into possession of without hiring a Detective?" Her right brow raises to hi-light her prior question.

"Consider the situation taken care of Mr. Amota," Rebekah replied in turn in regards to her taking care of the matters that he had presented her with. It was at his invitation that she go to the Rising Son to mingle with the athlete's and fellow staff that she felt her professional instincts kick in. Business and pleasure should NEVER go hand in hand. If they do, things can go sour rather quickly, "We will see."

She watched as Mr. Amota casually made his way down the stairs leaving her with simplistic new charges to take care of and so far the greatest one she has had is Mr. Bronk. She knew that things was only beginning to heat up and that this football season was going to be one that would quite possibly rock the very foundations of Jacksonville. "Call Mr. Davis," Rebekah said into her blue tooth as she unconsciously straightened the pieces of paper in her hands and made her way to the exit, "Mr. Davis there has been a change of plans and I need you to work on fixing a slight oversight..."

Suddenly soft laughter came from her, "I promise it's nothing like the Solomon Islands three years ago. No, nothing that complex as of yet." Slowly her voice and presence faded into the shadows of the stadium as Rebekah did what she has always done best. Making people look good.

You can try the Mandatories in a couple week. But one more bad hit..and you will end  up on the IR..or worse..you may be waived-injured...then no one  will touch you...Sims isn't a fool..he will understand  when i give him my report..

Sims also needs to field a football team. That old fellow  isn't a number two..and Adam isn't a NFL QB..even in the  wildcat, he  would struggle.

right..just my point..you get yourself  whacked and out for the year? How are you going top help?

I...understand...make your report...I am still going to practice  and  meetings...

And  Sims  would expect you too..elsewise  , he'll drop you like a hot  rock.
