The   people and Players  began coming into the Club  around  7:00. Some  come to eat, some come to drink, some  come to play.

  People came to meet the Players. The owners  allow certain reporters into the building, with strict rules. anyone in Violation of these rules, find themselves escorted  by black uniformed  Amota Industires Security folks.

 La Roi Givens  had some of his  hangers-on barred from the  Building. That was they way it goies...The Amota's were strong on character....you ended up in the wrong side of the law, or disgraced the team..you were gone...

 At the doors  the Door man stood. Checking  IDs, running checks on a laptop. If he barred you...you were not, getting in.

  James Steele was one of the first to arrive. Thus far, the starting QB. His thick Sunglasses and  wide  smile as much a calling card, as were the  three young  woman hanging on his arms.

 Preacher Ozark, dressed to kill, some fine ladies with him as well.

 Mik came in , looking a bit tired, but relaxed as he made his way to the Dinner.

 Coach Sims and  His wife  entered, they moved to the Nightclub section, and  would  order  dinner there.

 Yuto Amota, His  white sleeves  rolled up, and  a drink in his hand. was  talking with the  women who were...looking  for people to talk to...his  smile  wide as the BAnd started playing.....

  when one walks into The Rising Son..They see many types of  Japanese weapons on the walls, as well as pictures  folks  using them.

  There is  a sports  section, just outside the Dinner area, that has  some Pictures of Sims  Coaching the JApanese National Team, and The Amota Tigers Industrail league team.

  There are pics  of Yuto In his #91 Mellon State Uniform, One  of him catching a pass from Bronk with the Pic being taken from behind the QB...and a Pic of Bronk and Yuto, Bloody and Muddy holding  some Trophy in the air..There is  a long Blank wall with empty Picture frames..it reads," Future  Home of Outstanding Dragon Players"

  through the other  doors  is a huge Dance area with a Large  cental stage that a band sets up on, and  Huge  speakers hanging from the walls. There  are tables  and Booths  along the walls as well as  a LOng bar at the far end..leaving the  floor empty , for  many dancers  at one time.

 Bronk  and Ben pull into the Lot. One of the Doorman Come to the Car, when they see Bronk they smile  and Point him to a space near the door. The Neon looks  w quite out-of-place between two Lexus sedans.

 ..here we are Ben, Home  away from home...for me at least...  they walk in the  door, the  black uniformed  guards  Nod with a smile as the twp players walk in,we can eat in the dining  area, or get a table   in the club, depends  how much action you want going on around you , as you eat?

Ben walked in, looking around.

"Whichever you prefer, Adam."

It was all a new experience for Ben. He'd never been a one for clubbing, usually looking for a Mom&Pop place when dining out, and the occasional visit to a bar with friends once he'd turned 21... not that long ago.

i'm thinking  we'll get a table on the wall in the club then...Dining area is great, but most of the folks we know will be here, I',m  thinking....

 A Japanese  woman dress in a smallish Dragon's jersey and shorts ( eyeblack under her eyes), showed them to  a Table a few tables  down from the entrance, and gave them a Menu.

 She  promised to be back in  a few minutes,Bronk looked at the Menu and shrugged, Let's see...Chicken soup of the day...If you want real Japanese  food..this is the plaxce to get it...I'm going to have  a Dragonburger and  a bowl of soup...hereything here is  made in the back..no frozen patties or anything..crablegs  and stuff like that were probably unloaded this morning...

"You know, I've never eaten Japanese... always game to try something new, though. You say the burgers and soup are good? Then I'll join you..." said Ben, leafing through the menu.

  Bronk nods as he points to the  Menu,Chicken  strifry is good.....anything  Really..Shrimp stuff...I'm just in the mood for a burger...

   He watched  some of the folks on the floor, a few of the players he didn't know  quite wqell. As they waited for the server  grit to retunrn

"Right, then... I'll go for a chicken stirfry. Sounds good to me."

Ben looked around the room. No doubt in time he'd recognise people here - and even, scary thought, be recognised - but for now he was content to just watch the flow of people.

Hello Boys, Who is your new friend, Adam...  the woman smiled, she had a small tape player on her him and a note book in her  suit jacket.

  Come On Adam, Goingto have  to know him sooner or later.

  This is Ben Hope, Newest Tightend..came on the bus with the new folks at the end pof practice...Ben?  This  is Cindy  Sawyer, the Beat reporter  for ESPN.

 The  woman smiles at Ben.Well, Mr. Hope...I'll have to see if i can track down  all you new folks.... she truns  back to Adam,..am I to Understand you have a LAdy  widereciever now?

  Adam  nods, Yes....she came in today as well.. she's a bit  more durable , then Jo was..she can already catch better  the Givens...

"Pleased to meet you, Ma'am."

  The woman smiled  and offered her hand to Ben, she titled her head at Adam,..someone  has manners here, at least...

  Adam nodded with a shake of his head,I have  always been respectful...just a wee bit firm, when it comes to certain questions..

 She grinned  a bit, then turned back to Ben.I will have to Hunt you down when Adam isn't around, perhaps even ...set up a Time...through Mrs Amota...if we need to. Perhaps i will see you fellows later, I  have some folks  i must talk to...

 sher moved off  and Adam shook his head, Setting up  time with Nillie...Mrs Amota...means  you areforced into an interview with the camras, lights..whole nine yards...she does her  job..that's  for sure...

Ben looked a bit startled.

"I cannot be of much interest to the press - I haven't even been hired, let alone played a game. Perhaps after I've scored a couple of touchdowns in Dragons colours..." he grinned.

Inwardly he was a bit worried. Sure, he'd appeared in the press - but in match reports, describing his exploits on the field with the Sooners. What possible interest might a reporter have in him as a person, rather than with a ball in his hand.

  After she walked off to hunt down some more people, the  server  girl came by with a the drinks they had  ordered and  Thier food. She looks  shyly at them as she says...I'm supposed to tell yuou guys, that if you are still here after  10:00..there are a few of us who are off shift then.... she  smiles  and saunters away.

 Adam chuckles,Well, Mr Hope? You are in the NFL now...no matter how lok you stay....ESPN  looks for stories..good, badd..doesn't matter..as long  as  it gets people to watch, and they can beat other sources to the news...How you handle it?  well..that's  alal part of it..Look there... he points with the hand that his drink is in, the index finer pointing out Givens who was talking to her  as she held her tape recorder..she nodded and smiled while Givens  waved his hands about ans shook his head, she grinned all the more.

 ..right now? Givens is going to give her s blurb for her spot..or..if nothing else , she will get her spot  on NFL LIve  as they reach the Dragon's  segment..alot of those guys think they are smarter then her...they are wrong...and you get some of those high draft picks  with the Bling around thier necks that really believe they are as good  as thier  Colleges build them to be...two, three years later, they are trying to Play in the Arena league...

  Points his  drink down he takes a bit  from his fries, If i don't make  it here..I'll back to  the CFL..I know i can playthere..and  I'll be someone...its just..well...you want to make it here....

"Does the Dragons management have any advice: do they like us to talk to the press or do they like to control it? At college, the coach said that he only wanted to read about us in match reports. Or maybe when academic results were published."

Bethany made her way into the Rising Son, having gotten a ride from Kat.  Bethany had dressed up a bit for the place.  She was dressed in a nice pair of khaki pants and a black sleeveless turtleneck.  She wore flat shoes, but really, given her height, she didn't need to ever even think about wearing high heels.  That would just be excessive.  She didn't mind though.  She got to wear more comfortable shoes as a result of her height.  That was okay with her.  She had a small black purse slung over her left shoulder as she started to make her way over towards Adam and Ben.

"Evening," the woman said. "Mind if I join you all?" Bethany asked politely.

Ben rose again.

"Of course, Bethany."

He pulled out a chair for her, and signalled the wait staff to bring a menu and place setting.

(Is Kat with her? If so, she's given the same treatment.)

"Thanks Ben," Bethany said as she took a seat and settled in.  "I can't say I've been to many restaurants like this.  In Wisconsin, well, lets just say they like bratwurst and hamburgers quite a bit.  Steakhouse and the like are about as fancy as you get, unless you want to pay a whole lot of extra money," the woman added easily.

OOC: I imagine she's on her way, but I didn't want to pose her or assume her actions.

  He nods  with a  smile as  Ben gets  the chair (s) ready, Yuto wanted to have  a place for the team to hang out..hopefully keeping the idoit events to a minimum....There is  a Dinner through there..and this is the Club, with dining as well..and of  course..the bar...It startled early..I'm thinbking Yuto sent the word out, so there will be camaras and reporters  about...He wants to MArket the team...have  everyone forget the JAgs...

"That makes sense, getting the word out and all.  I'm afraid I don't have anything official yet in terms of apparel, but hopefully that'll change soon," Bethany suggested easily.  She glanced over the menu, and commented "I'll get the...okay, I don't want to butcher what it's actually called, but that one.  The spicy chicken dinner, and a glass of milk," the woman said.

"I'll admit though, I imagine an interview here will be a lot different than what happened at the college level".  Though Bethany did get a decent amount of curiosity coverage because of her gender, she figured it would be different here.

  The Waitress smiled and  took the menu  and  slipped off.

  Bronk leaned back a bit, his  Burger half gone, They swarmed  Kat..they'll keep doing it too...you'll get  your fair share as well since you are going to be taking and Giving hits...That one there?  he nods  his head towards SAwyer  who was still taking in everything Givens has to say...

 ..Sawyer...ESPN's  beat reporter here..she'll look for stuff...Givens there?  He was the Number one  here..Gearhart was the Number  2..they traded away 3 and 4...Right now...Givens thinks he's one...so do I..mackins  and Simmons  are good..they are  working at it too..neither of them have big Resumes..But MAckins played  for USC, Simmons  for BYU..they can block and they can catch..Givens  won't block..and  can't  catch..I've seen HAmsters that run better routes  then he does..If they keep 5? some body has to go...if they keep 6...they might just get rid of one and bring in a fresh free agent...You and  I can both PLay DB...I can cover and retrun Kicks..MAckins is a wee bit too tall, and lacks the agilty for that..Simmons..well..he doesn't like  to return kicks...Sims Likes those who try...and he hates  coeards..I am very very surprised that Givens is still here..they got rid of Gearhart  last week..Steele  Like Tall recievers..so YOu nad Givens   May just please him, MAckins  and Simmons are both only pushing 6 foot..  he grins  I just come up...short...

"That's the plan.  Give twice as many hits as I take, but if they need me to block on offense at times, that's fine too.  I'm hoping to make starter on both positions.  My goal is to play sixty minutes at least one game," Bethany said.  Ultimately her goal was more, but she had to start both positions.

She smiled at the comment about the height difference. "Oddly enough, I admit I considered basketball years ago to pursue instead, but I like the challenge of football a fair bit more," she admitted.  "That and surprising people.  You'd be surprised how many people didn't think I'd even be able to complete some of the stuff at the NFL Combine, like the bench press or anything like that.  It makes for a good bit of extra motivation when I need a push, at any rate," Bethany said.

  Adam nods  as he takes  a drink of his cola, we..or you..or me..MIGHT..get some Nickle coverage in. But its gonna take injuries or something to get us on the D side of the  lineup...Sims  let me play a few plays as a nickle in the scimmage...only because  I played against  and for him. And.. The CFL helped..they aren't  afarid to  use  smaller folks  on that great big field..anyway?...Just set your sights on  Wideout now...Volunteer for D-back stuff when yo hear the coaches  Come around, looking for an extra one...We..or should i say..I..have one good thing going for me...this offense, with the route tree and the reads...is  great...but  you have to have your head in it...and we're gonna go through alot of wideouts   as we take hits going across the middle. And..The TEs? You guys will be used  inside the  20...but outside the 20, you'll be H-backs..Blocking, getting wraparound draws...and screens...gonna be fun..

  He takes  another bite of his burger  as the Girl comes over  and sets  Beth's ( and KAts?) dishes  down. You want help with the passing tree, don't be afraid to ask..well don't ask  Givens..he things the passing  tree is what footballs grow on..But..I've played in   this system in Japan, and  in College..even BC sorta ran one like it..a bit differant since they have 12 instead of 11..but I'll help if you want it..Ben Knows that..now?  so do you..

A nod was given regarding the defensive side of the ball comments, but that was when Bethany's food arrived, so she didn't add anything and just let Adam talk for the moment.  Unsurprisingly, she was rather hungry.  The chicken was very spicy, that much was easy to tell from the smell of it.  But, the spice didn't seem to bother her much.  She liked spicy meals.  "Sounds good.  I'm familiar with the basic concept of the passing tree, though I imagine it is a lot more complex here," the woman commented between bites of chicken.  "When do you tend to go over stuff like that?" she asked Adam. "Aside from during practice, that is.  I'm trying to get some idea of how to plan my schedule".

  Adam shrugs,there will be  the recievers  meeting  the QB  meeting..so far  i have to go to them too. there will be the offense meeting..films ...there will be the  'yell at' film study from practice..can't  wait   till tomorrows..., after pratcie  i like to stay a bit...Fillings  wants the #2  spot bad..he's hoping if he looks good enough , they  won't  trade for a guy  or  pick up a free agent or waiver wire guy..so he'l stay for  abitn to throw,...get timeing down. Mackins  and  Simmons  normally stay. but sometimes?  well..they just what to go home...As  far  as extra  stuff,  I either  go to the fiilm room here,  or study the disc  at my place..yuou'er  welcome either place....if you'er serious  about the study...

"Wouldn't have asked if I wasn't interested," Bethany responded to Adam as she continued to work through her chicken.  "Like I said, just trying to figure out how to plan in my extra work a little bit," the woman said to Adam with that casual tone of voice she tended to use most of the time.  She took a drink of her milk.  "Just let me know when.  If the coach likes extra work put in, well, I'm pretty well used to that," she told the man.
