we'll start here...we will be leading up to the Cowboys at Dragons..Opening game of the season..and..Dragons' home opener.

 Sept 10 1st week, 1st season, Vs  Cowboys....

 Players walked into the locker room, one  at a time, some times in pairs, and a few in groups. Some  where chatting, Music was playing at some  Lockers...others  were quiet and intense.

  After getting taped up, Adam with his  White football pants  with the Green and Black , thick strip down the legs, and a Dragon Teeshirt, Grabed a Ball from the Bin and went out  to the filed for warmups.


  As the Players  came out to strech and run. The would see , over  half the Stands were filled already! 2 Hours  before the game.  Sawyer from ESPN  walked about the filed  with her  camara crew, and the Folks  from  FOX were  taking shots with thier  Camaras  as they made sure they worked.

 As SAwyer  Appraoched  Adam who was  streching  witht eh Football by his  feet, a Voice  caled out from  the bother side of the 50.

 HEY , BRONK...YOU READY FOR THIS! Noss shouted from where he  streched.

  Bronk looked up at Noss  as he picked up the football,...I;M ALWAYS READY NOSS!

 YEA?....WELL...YOU AIN'T PLAYED AGAINST SOMEONE LIKE ME!

  Adam waited for SAwyer to getv closer, he saw the Light on the Camara Come on and He laughed as he Shouted,..YOU"ER RIGHT!...I'LL NEVER HAD A GAME THIS EASY!

  Noss  started to Run towards the Dragon's half of the Field But the   MLB, Croff grbbed him and  shook his head as he pushed him  towards  thier  endzone..

 Adam  Just Laughed   louder and winked at SAwyer  who Grinned  and began talking into the Camara for the her  Pre game report.

Ben was around early as usual, taped up carefully then went out to run a few laps to warm up. Like Adam, he took a football and once he had stretched he ran with it tucked under his arm.

Lucas had taken his early morning run and swam laps.  He had showered and was in the locker room already taping up dressed when most everyone had arrived.  He did a few stretches before he headed out to the field and found Adam joking around with the media and the opposition.

Adam throw to me, he yelled as he ran a few yards out from him.

Ricky had feel asleep on the couch in his room. He was not much for beds, so he had a really long couch instead.  His laptop had slowly slipped to the floor the night before and he woke up with his arm and leg tangled up in cords.  He heard his roommate shuffling about and his alarm going off in nine minute intervals.  It must've been time to wake up and head to the stadium to get prepped for the day.

At the stadium, he was sized and suited up with help from the trainers.  He took a seat with his music player and sat quietly as he zoned out.

  A local Highschool that won the contest for  raising the  most money over the  summer for the Children's hospital, Was Playing   as they stood in  open end of the stadium, where the LArge  scoreboard with teh  Dragons  stood...smoke was drifting out  of the  Dragon's  Nostrils as thier  eyes   moved  everyonce in a while to make it  Look as if they were  watching the field.

  On the scoreboard itself, Highlights of Dragon's preseason games were shown as well as the results of  Thursday's  Kickoff Game that had the Steelers beating the Dolphins  28 - 17.

  The Commissioner had arrived  and  was talking to a network  reporter  on the field, before he  and his people headed up to the Dragon's Owner's dox.

 Adam tossed the  Ball to Lucus  and  anyone  else who wanted to catch, Duke was   just getting his  am loose, before they came out with thier pads on.

....it  wasn't long  before the coaches  called thier  team  to the Locker to get PAdded up...the Highschool band  moved out onto the  field to play...

Ben joined in tossing balls around, then trotted in when the players were called back to the locker room to finish dressing for the game.

He was wondering if his Dad had made it to the game.

  The Music   was now  muffled...some players  had  head sets on, other  PLayers  sitting in theb lockers  with a Towel over the ehads rocking back and forth as they Visualized the plays to come...Duke was Looking of the MAster sheet with Sims  and Nevers.

  Adam was  lying on the  floor, in full PAds   as he tossed the BAll into the  air  and CAught  it..each time , pulling it into his  arm, then doing it  again, His  eyes  seemed to focus on the Tip of the ball..almost as if he was counting the pebbles on the leather.

  Steele was Holding a clip board, Dressed in shorts  and  a Dragon windbreaker  with a Dragon Baseball cap on backwards. He  listen to Duke  and  Sims , but he didn't look too happy.

 Givens sat back in his locker, arms  crossed and  headset on , as he jammed out to some rap music...he  appeared to be sleeping.....

  Miles was walkign through the   room, stopping  and   checking on everyone..he stopped By Adam, looking at the ball rising and falling, then looked  at  Lucas  and Ben,...you boys  ready..this is  for real now.....  his voice  had  an edge on it....

 ...been ready since  i got the plane ticket in May, Miles....

Otto Ultracurvaceous..the Strenght and Conditioning Coach for the drago9ns  waited outside the  Dragonettes  Dressing  Room.  Ulto...as he was know to the  players..would be one of the spotters in the  booth, and awaited  the Dragonettes  comign  out before he went up.

Eve revelled in the pre–game instructions, warm-ups, preparations and pep talk, from Celeste and Lu-Ti, which helped her to overcome a bout of stomach flutters, which had started earlier. Eve fell in behind the Dragonettes as they filed out of the locker-room. Emerging she was surprised to see her father waiting in the hall. Dad she beamed slipping alongside him, giving him a hug and peck on the cheek What brings you here...

Ben, now fully dressed apart from his helmet, grinned widely.

"Always," he replied. "Ready, that is!

  Ulto smiled  and put  an arm around her  as they walked,...just wanted to wish you good luck....this is it..First day of a new Team, this is a National game, so all those folks who are getting a douyble header today? Get to see the Dragons' first game!...You can b et those  camara guys  are going to be focused on you ladies too!

  Sims  , Followed  by Lewis  and  Nevers, as well as Fry, the other cpoaches  were going up to the Booth, came in. Miles  shouted  for  all the   Muisc to stop, EVeryone  Looked up, either  standing or  sitting ( Adam stood up). Sloan Kicked  Given's  chair out from underhim to wake him up..there was a short burst of nervous laughter as the  Tall WR  scrambled to get up, Blinking his  eyes. Tali slipped in to be  with the team for the  pregane talk....

  Looking over the team,Sims began. though he  appeared calm, there was alos  a grim look on his  face. the hard edge of barely contained Violence, that those who same him play, knew well.

 ...This is It. I congradulate   all of you who are on the team. We sent  many folks  away since MAy...there is a good chance , not all of you will be hear at the end of the season. This..the begining of  the Dragon Story...the begining of  some of your careers...perhaps..the end of others....If you all...give your all...we might still be doing this in In the Rosebowl, in Febuary...  he lrt the thought of the Superbowl site  settle in for a moment.

 ...but...this is  just the first step. Out there....  he points to the  doorway that leads to the tunnel, that leads to the field,...are fans who  have cheered thier hearts out for us, even though, it was just preseason....there are stree stadiums full off people...two of those stadiums, people are sitting in seats, just to watch us on the  Giant Vid  Screens...there will be at least that many people in the parking lot, tailgating and watching on TVs the hooked up...we have  a Team on Fine LAdies who will be cheering...helping to get the fans behind us...and thier  Job is frustrating....They can only  watch...only shout...and hope they can help....Me? And  the other Coaches...we get to call plays, pick people...so we have a small hand in this....BUt all of...YOU!  the last word was a shout, that echoed off the walls,He shouted it again,..YOU!....Are on the Field...YOU...make the plays, make the tackles...make the differance in this  game......

 His voice lowered  a bit as he said,..think not, about yourselves...but of those people who will be watching...Reward those who cheer for us...punish those who cheer against us, you can do both, by playing at your best...your hardest.... Now?  The TV guys want our  Offesne to be introduced first...the Cowboys  Defesne is being  introduced as we speak....Duke will be last, Adam, Ben, right before them...Miles? You and the O-line  will be first....now....lower your heads...thsoe who believe....a prayer for safety..a prayer to give yourselfs and your teamamtes heart...for those who don't believe..thing about your teammates, and the fans.......

  The room was deadly quiet...the  occasional sounf of pads creaking as a player shifted,,,Sims Looked up...the look on his face, down right evil as he said..his voice rising as the knock on the door came for the team to come out,NOW.....GOP SHOW THEM...GO SHOW THE  WORLD....HERE THERE BE DRAGONS!

 the Door was hit  By Miles, and the TV guy with a headset on  jumped back as the  Dragons ran out the door towards the opening of the Tunnel, another man with a headset, and a second one with a clip board stopped them from coming out on the filed...just yet...from the mouth of the tunnel, they could see the Dragonettes  Lined up...a HUge Inflated Dragon head was set at the Mouth...smoke  coming from the sides of its  Jaws...the stadium above the shook, as the FAns were doing the Dragon Stomp...the  Dragonettes  Stomped 'in place'..as the  looked eagerly towards the tunnel for the Dragons to be announced...the people the dragons could see, made the stadium look like a sea of Green Black and white as the   MOved in the  stands..stomping for thier  team....A Blimp with Snoopy on, was visible as it circled the   Stadium...Helcopters  and a few  Cessna's towing  signs in the air....The Sun was bright, not a cloud int he sky, and the Temp was some 89 degrees ( 99+ on the field)...

  The TV guy with Bright Red gloves  Signaled the  guys at the Tunnel, and the  Intros  were about to begin.....

Ben took a deep breath.

"HERE WE BE DRAGONS - HEAR US ROAR!!!" he echoed Sims's final shout.

He got into line ready to take the field, just behind Adam.

"You throw 'em, I'll catch 'em," he muttered to his friend.

Lucas had roared along with Sims and Ben after the team prayer ended.  He stomped out onto the field and before Duke, Adam, and Ben were announced and came out, he took a knee raised both his arms to the skies praising the Lord above and then stood to let the boys come out.

Just as Adam and Ben came out, he turned and gave them a thumbs up.

Dressed, ready, and standing information as the Dragon players filed out, she was at the end of the line and leaned over to look at the tunnel entry when Adam and a couple of others came out.  She paused and smiled when they gave name announcements of the three.  SHe looked to Lu-Ti and smiled.

Our boys must be special today, she said with a wink.

Though not dressed, Celeste had coaxed Eve out into the line with them to cheer the players onto the field. She didn't want any team player to be forgotten.

Lu-Ti smiled back an waved at Ben when he came onto the field.

The girls began a somber quiet chant that lead to a louder yell of each players name shaking their poms in front of them, as they were announced.

Ben came out onto the field, his grin so wide it almost escaped from his face cage!

He returned Lucas's thumbs up, then blew a kiss to Lu-Ti, then turned his attention to the field.

In some ways it was overwhelming, in others he could see every detail - every blade of grass or spectator in the stands. The noise was tremendous, yet he knew it was nothing on what would happen once play began.

He drank in the moment as he took his place...

  The intros  continued... Finally Adam came  Running  out on the field..the Scoreboard  made a whistling  Sound  with the  words..Adam..... and  a big Explosion that had the word "Bomb"...  He  spun around  Pointing  at the Crowd  and  brining his hands  up for the FAns to cheer...it seemed impossible...but the Crowd  Noise when up even higher... Adam treached the  end of the  Line as he Grinned at all the Dragonettes, slappign hands  with the other Offensive folks  that where introduced...and  then Raided his hands  again as the announcer  Holared over the PA,"...AND THE REST...Of..YOOOOOUUUUPRRRR...JACKSONVILLE DRAGONS! "

  the Crowd  was beyond  Jacked up.. if one would have been outside the  Satdium, they would hear the copllective Roars from all three sites..a special Day for JAcksonville.....but..how  would it end...


   The Color Guard  marched onto the Filed  as the PA announcer  got the Crowd to settle down abit... A Local Country Singer and her band sang the National Anthem, the Camaras showing the players  as she sang....Adam sood there..his eyes staring at something no one else could see....if he heard the words of the  songs, none could tell...

  Duke, Worth and Miles  went out for the  Coin Toss , to meet Noss,, Hargrave ( the QB) and  Fodder ( the kicker)  for the  coin Flip....The Dragons won...and took the BAll...as it was announced, that the Dragons had won the toss...the  Fans  went  wild  again....

Ricky jogged out with the defensive group of guys and waived to just a handful of fans that new him from his previous team.  He watched as the crowd's cheers grew louder and louder.

Ben stood to attention for the Anthem, eyes shining. His father (was he here?) might fight for his country, but it meant just as much to this Army brat wearing a different sort of uniform.

  The Cowboys  Kicker hit the Ball, it  hung high in the  sky as  he  went end  orver end, Mik was in the EndZone, with Klay just a few  yards  ahead of him, the Ball Came down near the End Line..Kly ran towards Mik with His hands  held Out, Mik, downed the ball and Tossed it to the Ref in disgust.

1st and 10 Dragon 20.   The dragons  Came off the sidelines, Mik waiting  for them on the Filed with Lucus, who had been an Up-man  on the return team. Duke   waved Lucas  and Mik around as the team lined up without a Huddle, this  caught  the Cowboys  By surprise  as the  secondary and   LBS ran over trying to Figure out where to Line Up...The Cowboys head Coach, Morris, called a Time  out  throwing down his head  set and throwing up his hands...the  Crowd Roared  as the  Dragons  Huddled.

  Duke did laugh or  smile as some of the Dragons did, he Just said,..9-9-9..Backs  hit the flats...first sound....

 They broke the Huddle  as the  Cowboys shifted to Lineup, Duke said GREEN.... the ball came Back  , catching the  Cowboys  off guard again, the Oline  fired  Into the D-line one step sending   them Back on thier Heels, Mik and Lucas peeled out to the flats  as Bronk...Bennie  and  Ben took  off straight  down Field, with the DBs   caught flatfooted and Up...and  only 2 safties to help...someone was Gonna be Open deep.....

  The Cowboys  watched  Films  as well, As the Safeties peeled off to double up on Adam and Bennie, The MLB , Croff  Hit  Ben right off the Line, By the time  Ben recovered  Duke  had  already let the ball go into the  flat to Lucas who picked up 5 yards  before being knocked out of  bounds.

  2nd  and 10.. duke  waved everyone Up to the Line, he looked over the Defesne  calling  the signals, He pointed  at the LOLB, Linnes ..54's the MIKE!

 then called for the Snap, once more the Cowboys, waiting for more line calls  were caught with their feet flat, This times, as  scripted, Bronk and Benning  ran double  posts to criss  cross the Filed, Ben Curled up in the Middle  and the BAcks hi the  flats  again.

  Duke Let the Ball go Just as  Linnes Broke through, He Gave  Duke a shove, well after the ball was gone, and Flags  rained  down on the field,  Both Safeties  moved to cover  Adam and Bennie  caugth the BAll for  13 yards...plus the 15 for roughoughinh the passer...1st and 10 Dragons!

1st and 10 Cowboys' 47...the Fans were standing... the stomp was going on in the stands....

 The Dragons  ran up to the Line, Duke  shouting out   the  signals  as they ran up...Miles  stood over  the ball waiting for the Ref, to allow the Cowboys to get on sides, then Bent over as Duke  called the Snap just as his hand  adjusted the Ball...

  Duke threw the Ball as  far as he Could , down the left sidelines,,, Adam  Broke off the  hit  that the Corner gave him, and Noss was on his horse, trying to catch the little  wide out as he burned down field...also must like a rooster tail, of a speed boat, the fans stood  as Adam ran past them, thier eyes going from the ball to the wideout and back again...  The Corner  stopped running  after  Adan past the 25.....Noss  kept running , his head down, looking up now and again to try and  catch Adam........

  Benny was Running down the the other  side  ..Jumping in the air Line a  cheerleader. watching the Ball from his perspective.....His hands were already up in the air to show 'touchdown'....

Lucas amped and ready for the big day quickly formed in line and when hike was called, he muled forward to keep the nemesis' defensive line at bay and off of Duke.

  In the Booth Clark Brown, a former player  for the  Dolphins, and  Nick Link, the  announcer wathed the  game, Link doing the  Play  by play.

  worried they would have to feel 'dead air' if the Cowboys beatup on the Dragons...they were suddenly excited as the Dragons' fast paced O was pushing the Ball down Field, W Hen Brown shouted out...THERE IT IS!

 Link added to that,..the Corner   Is beat!...Noss  won't be able to get there!

Ben assessed the situation and pounded down the field as well.

Luke barreled through being thrown off to the sides with the quick toss.  He lined up and waited for the next play.  He was holding off the defensive guy in front of him as Duke shot the ball down field to a sprinting Adam.  Though he was still pressing the defensiveman, he looked over the mans shoulder at the wideout.

Seeing the smoothness of the first play, Celeste and the girls began doing a small version of the dragon stomp as Adam ran the field.  She turned to look over her shoulder to see what the run resulted in still keeping the girls in time with the cheer.

    Duke took a couple steps  away from the  Linebacker, Giving Him a shove as the Guy tried to push him down, Miles and Sloan made sure the LB wasn't going to do anything about it...they all turned thier ehads  down field.

 The Nose of the Ball dropped, the perfect spiral continued, Adam hadn't let up speed  yet and  was just crossing the  10 yard line... Noss was yellign something  to try to get   Bronk's concentration off the ball, But  the  wideout  was lost in his own world..Just him and the football...

 For once  second, He turned his  head, Just a bit...Then  Jumped, he caught the Ball as it  came  down, hitting the ground  with  both feet...dragging  freshground tire bits into the air. making sure  every Ref in the place knew his  feet were in...then then twisted to hit the Ground on his  ball, Ball cradeled in one arm, the other Arm protecting it....Noss..too late..Hurdled  over top  of him, Swearing  and Kicking the ground as he landed...

the Two closest Refs' arms went up..TOUCHDOWN!...

  The Dragons  on the scoreboard  Roared...the Flames  shooting out  as the Little  dragon 'flew' across the wires  at the top of the stadium....

  Adam Got Up and Held the Ball up. Noss  said  somthing to Him, and  Adam snapped back..a big grin on his face.

  The roar of the crowd almost drowned out the  two massive  dragons...

  Sims  Turned  around,..Tali...your turn to shine....get your PAT team out
there....

 Smokey Grinned as he pulled on his helmet, Ready , Dudette?

 Clark Brown  shook his ehad  as they waited  for the touchdown to be confirmed,..I swear..i did not see that coming, I mean..we looked at it in  the preseason? But who would have really thought  they would use this office..for real!

 Nick Lane watched the Reply ( with   the rest of America  as the slo-mo showed Bronks  toes  digging up the rubber  pellets, and him hitting the Ground  with the ball secure...I am speechless....I know its only the first series...but...The Cowboys  may have a tiger  by the tail!

 Brown chuckled,..or a dragon!

 ..its  6-zip folks...if you tuned in late..you missed the fireworks..but i wouldn't switch the channel!....we'll see what happens with the PAT...

Ben let out a whoop of delight as Adam scored, and pretty much danced off the field as the PAT team came on.

Celeste, Lu-Ti, and the other girls had all stopped to see Adam do a slide and then fall to the ground only to stand and hold up the ball to show first TD of the game.

Celeste's grin on her face was just as big as it was on Adam's.

Alright boys, she said sarcastically.  Let's show them girls on the field some pride!

They began a trance like chant.

Seeing how explosive the first set of plays were, he shook his head.  He knew he'd have to do some swift thinking to help keep the defensive line just as pumped.

  The Camara had  swung to the   visting Team's Owners' box. The small , older man with a cowboy hat on threw up his hands in disgust, looking over hsi shoulder as his people in the  box...clearly angry at the outcome of the Dragon's  first drive.


  The announcers   then cued the replay of the dragon's owner's box.. Mr  Amota stood, with a big smile and clapped, in a dignified Manner...Nilie wore  at Draon's  Windbreaker  and   was cheering   as if she was a Dragonette...the camara closed in on the 2 dozen Children who sat in the front  row of the box...popcorn and hotdogs, and  sodas...some still had  hangers with Drips hooked up to them...But they were  cheering and hollaring along  with the rest of the dragons...4 Nurses stood near by, watching opver the children and  taking part in the  food and drink as well

  As the  teams waited for the  review, the two screens at either end showed the Touchdown pass..the one on the bigboard, showed  Adam catching the ball from the back of that endzone, the other  screen showed the Play from above, and behind  Duke.

  Bronk gave the Ball to  the equipment guy who wrote something on it  and Put it in a footlocker, that he locked up right away...Duke  found  Bronk on the Sideline and Gave him a Hug. Miles,  then both of them weent down the bench aand  gave high fives to the O-line, Ben, Bennie and  Mik.

 Sims aallowed himself a smile as he watched the  looped replays....

Tali was slightly taken aback by the fast paced game and excitement that surrounded her.  She was as razzed as the other players, but still more subdued.  She was still trying to get acclimated to the Americans, and even though she had played college ball, the NFL was an entirely new beast.  As she took to the field, she paused in her jog to take in the roar of the crowd.  She'd played D1 ball, and that was nothing in comparison crowd-wise.  She stood with her hand over her heart, idly wondering what people were thinking about seeing a female on the team.

Tali watched the O practically fly down the field, and before she knew it, Sims was slapping her on the helmet and ordering her out to the field.  As she jogged in with the PAT team, she paused again as the fans in the stands roared in excitement.  There was derision in the clamor, but most all of it was supportive.  She took a breath, and began jogging again.  She shut out the noise and clamor as she moved up to the line.  She acknowledged the game signal that it was going to be a simple kick, and took her place.

Tali watched her line, and observed the other line, as she leaned forward slightly as she waited for the snap.  She took a breath, watched, and waited.  She burst forward as the snap was made and kicked the ball.

Tali's Foot hit the ball just a Tad flat..the BAll made it over the  crashing lines, and hit the inside part of the left upright, and bounced through! Once more the  Stadium shook....like that of  a small earthquake as Fans  Jumped up and  down, and the  Dragon's roared once more...some scroes  of feet above the stadium, the   Remote "flying Dragon" shot Up the filed  from its "den" on the main scoreboard, to the "den" on the other  smaller  scoreboard at the other  end..Its ear splitting Highpitched Screechs  was somethging New  added  for the regular season

   Smokey got up  and Gave Tali a Hug, then Jogged to the  Ballboys  to get the PAT ball back,..hear ya go Dudette...Your first Point scored in the NFL! and he handed her the ball.

  Max  brought the Kickoff team out, he nodded to  Tali with a bit of a sneer as they passed, Sims  Stopped Tali, a slight grin on his face,...you got it through, the next one  will be easier....good  job....

  The Ball  was kicked off, and  came down near the end Line. The  return man just left it bounce out of bounds. Cowboys  ball on thier  20... 1st and 10

  The Cowboys huddled  up and  waited for the commercial Timeout to be over, then broke the Huddle, they Lined  Up, Jack Cowlings (9) began to call signals..Worth Shouted out   his own, all the Dragons  rushed Up to the Line..all 11!

  Cowlings  Started to audible,  and   the  Two corners  dropped off the  Line, leaving 9 dragons   at the Line,,Cowlings Started to Audiable again, and   Worth shouted more Defensive signals,  the  two corners  charged Back up to the  Line, and  3  Linebackers  dropped off into the coverage...

   Cowlings  Turned around  and called Time Out, and  unsnapped his helmet in disgust as he  went   walking over to9 the sidelines.  Worth Grinned and Looked over  at Lewis and Sms who were standing together, big ghrins on thier  faces....

  Onxce more  the  Cowboys  came up to the Line, Worth  called out signals again, this  time  all 11 moves up, But Only the  4  Linemen stayed  at the snap of the ball. 7 men dropping into coverage, Cowling's Pass went out to the Left flat and  was knocked  down Salcido...Fans  cheered...2nd and 10 from Cowboys 20...13:51 left in 1st Q.

   coming up to the Line , Cowlings  was watching Worth now as he called the signals, Worth  was turning left and right, making Hand  signals to the  Corners, as he shouted  others  signals to the BAckers.... The ball was snapped  and Biggs, the  Halfback (34)..was hit  at the Line for no gain by Payne...3rd and  10 from the Cowboy 20.

  Lewis  sent Dalton in for the pass rush, the  corners  and  safeties dropped  back to guard against the 1st down..

  Cowlings tried to catch the dragons off guard by snapping it on first sound...but the defesne  was used to this from thier own offense...The D-line charged In as Cowlings dropped back...

REady at the line and listening intently to the calls being made by Worth.  When the hike was yelled, he eyed the ball like a kid in a candy store.  He heard his name and he began hustling down the field as if it was his last breath that would save him on this play.  His eyes flickering back and forth from the ball to the ball carrier.

  Ricky charged upfiled , but  was shoved  past the QB, but  the LT, and  Cowlings got the Ball off..it hit thier TE (88) in the  chest, just as Salcido and Best hit the TE.

 the TE was short of the first down by 2 yards..the Cowboy's  Punt team came on the  filed  and the Crowd went nuts.

  Sims  Yelled out,..BRONK!...

  Adam was only standing  about  2 people away,Yea  Coach?

 ..Return the Punt...make it good, its the  only return i'm letting you do  this  game...

  Adam's  Grinned  widened  as he sprinted onto the  Field  . waving to  Klay who hustled  back tot eh sidleines to stand By Sims.

  The  Crowd, seeing Adam  going back to  filed the Punt   Shouted and cheered  all the Louder,... Noss yelled something from the sidelines and Adam shouted back...LETS SEE IF YOU HAVE THE GUTS TO KICK TO ME!  Then He pointed upfiled to thier Punter , who just waved  Bronk off like he was trash.

  Adam paced a  couple steps back and forth like he used to do in the CFL...waiting  for the Punt  team to get ready...the return was on, they weren't  gonna  try to block it..

  The  Punt came High into the Jacksonville sky, there was a grin on Adam's face  as he looked up at the ball...one would think he was shagging kicks  in practice

  Bright and Taylor had thier man blocked...Santos  and Tibbs, however  , missed the  block on thier  guy and  he  was driving straight towards Adam...as the Ball came into Adam chest, the   DB (23) Hooker, Launched himself  at Adam , But the quick WR   turned  and  Took the  Hit   with a  foram and Hip, and  spun to his left...staggered  a little  By the Blow, Adam struggled to Keep his  feet, but  a few  steps later, was  starting to run towards Bright...Tibbs came down and Lit up Hooker, before he could get up...

  Adam   tucked the ball away his head moving around  like a Light house becon, stopping  and Jumping back as  a Cowboy dove  for his legs  then  started up filed and towards the opposite  sidelines  again...the matra of " if you can't see his face...don't blcok him.." rang through the   Return team's heads  as they  jumped out  of the way of  Cowboys  who changed Direction, to try to head off the little wideout...the Center Dove  for  Adam at the Cowboys Sideline, , Adam when High in the air to Hurdle him...when the BAck up HAlfback, met Adam in Midair  and they both flew into  a apck of  cowboys on the sidelines....Cowbous, trainers  and  the O-line Coach were laying  all over the Palce  as Adam Jumped Up, still holding the ball to flick to the linesman...he was Jumpign around like a pogo stick as he ehaded to the Huddle...Dragon's ball  1st and 10 on the Cowboy 41...

 One of the trainers  was being  looked at, as he took a blow to his legs , from one of the Cowboys  the halback and Adam had slammed into...

 The Commerical timeout  came  As  Adam stood on the filed  waiting for the rest of teh Offesne to come out...

Ben watched the D's plays intently, and began to grin as Adam went out to attempt the punt return, quivering in eagerness to join him on the field... and, yes, was the first O player out as soon as the commercial time-out began and Adam looked over to the bench.

"Nice one, Adam," he called as he ran up to take his place. He looked towards the Cowboy's goal line. "My turn?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Tali received the ball, and grinned as a blush crept into her cheeks.  She tucked the ball under her spot on the bleachers, and joined the standing members of the team lining the sidelines.  She leaned to her right and left, as she tried to see around the taller members of the team, and then muscled her way in front of them.  She watched the Cowboys fail to convert, and then the punt with the abject interest of any kicker, not to mention member of the receiving team.  She grinned wildly as Bronk cut all the way into Cowboy territory and clapped her hands excitedly.

Lucas walked onto the field, happy, content, pleased with the team as a whole right now.  Though a slight untwinkle in his eyes as he looked about the field and off the field on the side lines and in the crowd, he thought to himself and it reared its ugly head, doubt lingered.

He gave a bright enthusiastic smile regardless and looked between two of his offensive buddies.

Let's ride these cowgirls again, he said with a smirk.  He looked across the line of scrimmage at one of the defensive players. Heyya dollface, make sure to stay outta my way.  I wouldn't want to put a hurtin on that pretty face of yers.

Aggravated that he didn't make it to the ball in time as he had intended to, he grabbed up the play book and frustrated he flipped through the pages to locate or associate which play that went with.

  Kane  came over to  Dalton, Gently took the playbook and Gemtly Laid in on the bench...Look Man, Time for  book work is over. You ain't no QB who has to look over them Poloroids...or go through that Big sheet Sims  and Lewis carry with them...You just Go and Play.


  He points to the field ,now? You can learn alot  by watchin' others...not just to good guys  neither..but the bad ones too...learning what not to do, is juist as important as learning what...to do.  That pass Rush they put you in for?..You used  speed the whole way...hell that OT has been playing in the NFL before you got into college..he just let you take yourself out of the Play...Now?..Come here..lets  watch them Cowboys  a few plays...and I'll tell you what the guy playing  your spot is doing  right....or wrong?

  The Fans where  Jumping  , the  High Tech anime on the  Screen gave them  more  to look at then most stadiums..Fianlly  Duke  ran onto the field  after  taking with Sims  and Nevers and headed to the Huddle.

  Duke  entered the Huddle, Buckling up his chin strap as he did,kneeling down, he looked up at the others in the Huddle,41 yards  away...Sims  wants the heat on... We  got a Call from the O-line coach said the D-line looks  weak already..they want you to hit them, knocke them down every chance you get....they figure, by the 4th quarter  we can  run up and down the field  with ease...right now?..we have to fight... Make them run....hit them in the Mouth when you have to?..Right..now?..no matter what happens...the same  3  plays in a  row, no matter the Outcome..well..unless we score...everything on first souns, WRS  slants, BAcks  Hit the Flats...TE..go long...

  They Broke  the Huddle, as soon as they Lined  Up Duke  Called...GREEN..... nothing else  came out as Mile s snapped the Ball, He purp[osefully Looked  down filed  at Ben, Both safeties broke on Ben, And  Duke dropped the Ball of to Lucas...the  Big Full BAck turned up field  and Hit the OLB 7 yards  down Field...2nd  and 3 at the Cowboy 34

  The Dragons  Hustled  back, this seemed easier then thier  practices! They were lining  Up and the Cowboys  were trying to get sorted out  as  Duke  Called.....GREEN.... again the  BAll came   Back, Again  Duke  Looked to Ben, But  came off him as the Safties turned up Filed and he dropped the ball off to Mik...Mik Picked up another  6 yards before being  hit and brought down...

  Once more the dragons  Hustled  Back..this time the Cowboys  tried to match them..though they were Alot Slower...Adam...on the Cowboys  sideline could be heard  as he shouted to Head Coach Morris,..Hey?...didn't you guys have a preseason?

 Morris  just waved his hand at him and was ready to shout  something out to the Defense..But  Duke called ..GREEN!...  from the  28 , 1st and 10..the Ball Came m Back, everyone  ran the same Routes, This Time,  Duke  gave a halfhearted look to Ben and  looked to Bennie and Bronk as they crossed...Both Saties  Came up  and  Duke let the Ball Go downfield to Ben Who was ehaded towards the Post, spiltting the Safties  as they Both turned  and Looked at him running by..the ball was in the air...

Ricky looked up when Kane came up to him taking the playbook out of his hand and laying on the space beside him.  He quietly listened to Kane, not out of unaquitted frustration from what could have appeared as being reprimanded, but because doing background on Kane, the guy knew his stuff

He watched where Kane verbally pointed to and what the defense did.  He watched the guy like a hawk.


He thought that maybe he was making more out of it than he should have, though that was him.  He had to break it down technically and visualize how it should be done.  Sometimes that's not how it works out.

He gave a nod to Kane to let him know he was listening.

  Kane  Nodded,...first off..these guys  are damned out of shape!...I'd been like  them DTs  they have..if  it weren't for the conditioning we went through...Now..watch...


 1st down the  Guy  was just hammered by Higgens, the  Dragons LT,..now see?..that was just plain Dumb...Higgens has 40-50 pounds on him..and is quick...but he tried to Bull rush him, and got his ass handed to him....

  2nd  down, Kane  Poitned as the   Guy hit into Higgins and tried to Spin up the Middle,..Now he used his head, But he wasn't getting past Sloan, Higgins just passed him off to slaon..ball's gone..too bad...

1st down again, Ben was Open up the Middle  and Duke  was  Dropping the BAll into the endzone, The DL Player was on his back, Higgins keeping him down everytime he tried to get up,..again?..Brute  strenght  ain't gonna work all the time....Look at him..like a damn turtle on his back...Now? You watch  them when they set up...if you are Going  Outside, make sure  you can spin back when he steps into the pocket....If you go inside..well..use your hands to keep thier hands off you.....his voice trailed as he looked at the ball, and followed it towards  Ben

Ricky watched as the Cowboys struggled defensively and with their brute strength instead of their tactics and footing.

After a couple of plays being closed down by the safeties, Ben relished a bit of space and stretched his legs as he sprinted down the middle into open space, eyes checking where the ball and the Cowboys' D were.

Tali watched the offensive line quickly cut down the field yet again.  She figured t wouldn't be too long before either she or Max were called on, be it FG or for the extra point.  She moved away from the players watching the game progress, and grabbed a ball and stand.  She moved over to the kicking net, and started running through the boot as she listened to the fans for the game updates rather than watch on the display.

  The Ball came  down, nose  first as Duke "pulled the string"...as it came over  Ben's shoulder, it hit his left shouylder  pad, and kicked outward, But  his  Hands snagged it and Pulled it in, with 2 steps left before he reached the endline!

 Touchdown!

 The Dragons  Roared  Once more, Flames shooting out...from three differant stadiums , all within a Mile of  each other...Dragon fans  roared!

  Adam  Was  Jumping up and down with his hands in the air as he headed towards the endzone to conragulate Ben...Bennie was already there  Slapping Ben on the back.

  Sims Nodded with a smile that showed he had expected nothing less,TALI!...GET YOUR TEAM OUT THERE!

  Smokey was Pulling on his helmet and waited for Tali, the others  were Jogging out, slapping hands  with the  Offensive team, who was coming off.

Ricky grabbed his helmet in one hand and put his other one on Kane's shoulder pad.

Looks like we are up again, he said.  Let's see if what you've taught me worked.

He gave him a friendly pat on the shoulder and waited for the cue for the defense to head out to position.

Seeing Ben catch the ball and run it into the end zone, he jumped up and gave a fist pump to thin air.

Whooo, he exclaimed in a mock accent.  That's how we do it babey!!

Celeste was more than excited to stop cheering for a moment and motion for Lu-Ti to take charge for a moment as she snuck over to the side lines and meet up with some of the players.

She patted and verbally applauded the offensive players coming in her direction.  Briefly passing the coaches she spoke up.  Nice! she said with a smile.

Ben capered with delight in the Cowboys' end zone, and then jogged back to the sidelines accepting the congratulations of his team mates. Coming to where the cheerleaders were, he stopped and Dragon Stomped at them, grinning at Lu-Ti, then ran off the field.

He found Duke.

"Thanks - nice toss!"

Tali ran out with the PAT, stating, "Good catch", as she planted a congratulatory slap on Ben's behind as they passed each other.  Tali lined up behind the line, took a deep breath and let it out quickly.  She steadied herself, and burst forward as the ball was snapped and placed.  She swung her left foot through the ball to hopefully make her second NFL point of the day.

  Max Kicked Off  again, the Ball came  down 5 yards  deep..once more the  Returnman knelt down..Cowboys ball 1st and 10 on thier  20...12:01 left in the  first Quarter.

  Adam sat on the  top of the bench, his feet on the seat as he drank a poweraide, and Grinned at Ben,  Good  Job Roomie...there are gonna be  alot of Dragon Haters out there, who are gonna be alot poorer, if they took the Cowboys ..Us?..13 point undeerdogs..what a joke!


 Duke  came over to them, he  was smiling and easy smile, his ball cap on backwards, Great Job Guys....Never  seen an Offesne  come out like this the  first game!

Ben returned the grin, taking his helmet off for a moment as he had a drink.

He put his helmet back on and sat down, watching the action intently.

  The Cowboys  were shaken. Their coach was shouting, their  OC and DC were shouting , and someof the players  where  pointing fingers...not a grand way to start off a game!

 Cowlings went uder center,  First play was  a Dive to thier HB who gained  2 yards...Kane Got off the the HB and shoved  the  Dallas  RG out of his way. The RG got in his face and the refs  broke it up.

2nd and 8 at Dallas 22...This time a quick pitch to the HB going to the wide side ( right) of the field, He turned the  Corner  as Tibbs  was  slammed out of bounds  By thier TE, But Salcido Cleaned up the HB after a 2 yard gain again.

2rd and 6..Dallas 24...Lewis sent Dalton in with the PAss rush package...DT Wall came off the Field yelling at Dalton to 'go get 'em'

  The Ball was snapped and they faked the dive, None of the dragons took the fake seriously and Cowlings lOoked  over the field...Kane was Busting in from the left...Dalton from the right...

 Teh  Talk must have  did Dalton some good, if nothing else, he picked up some dos and don't  as he watched the bad guys. The perfect combo of, getting off on the snap, speed and  moves, adding  some Hand fighting , to keep the surprised  OT's hands Off him, Dalton came off the edge, then spin moved, to the Middler , Just as Cowlings  was stepping up to deliver the ball, The TE had  settled  down behind Cruz, who didn't know he was there..a First down, waiting to  happen.

  That is Until Dalton's  Helmet Hit his Left shoulder, and  Cowlings  ..just..managed to pull the ball into his Body, Both Men hit the  turf...and the roar of the crowd, rattled the  Building!..

  whistles blew  like Crazy, Kane  was Grabbing Dalton by the  back of the PAds to Pull him off the QB..Payne was shoving the OT who got beat, aaway from Dalton...

  Cowlings  was getting up slow, the ref marking the ball for for a 4 yard loss..

Duke takes the  Snap  Fakes the Pump to Adam, the  secondary shifted to wards him and Duke let the ball go...to Bennie, The other  small reciever picks up 12  more yards  before being slammed out of  bound.. MAckin has to come in for Bennie for a play or two...this allows the  Dallas D to send  some  folks in.

  The balls is snapped after the signals, this Time , Adam is hit  , right at the Line...this caught the DB, who was backpedling before the snap...Adam Faked the man and was off to the races,  Being  slammed out of  Bounds  at the Dallas 19... Adam  jumped  up as he tossed the ball to the Ref...Grinning at the man he faked out,...you should call a Time out..your joke and  underwear are back at the  32!.

  The snap came back as soon as the  ref blew the whistle, Lucas got the Draw again, Driving through the same hole...a bit tighter this time, But  7 yards on the Play.

  Duke took the snap and Fired towards  Mackin, who dropped the ball! Duke waved his hand over his head to line up again.

Tali felt her heart start to slam in her chest as Sims indicated they were going for an FG.  It was her understanding that if they were in the red zone they would attempt the conversion if they were ahead.  Still, she dutifully snapped her chin strap in place and trotted out to line up with the FG team.  She took several deep cleansing breaths as she lined up on the 29.  She took several steps back, and then two to the right.  She looked up at the tape to gauge wind, and then back where she would be kicking the ball.  She closed her eyes briefly, and then waited for the snap.  As it was made, she bolted forward and swung her left foot through the ball.

  Tali's Kick sailed to the right, perhaps her adjustments  for the  PATs, the  ball went out of the End Zone...Cowboys  ball on thier  26....1st and Ten.

  Smokey  gave Tali a  gentle  pat on the back,..no big  deal, Dudette...no one makes them all...

 as they came off  the Defense  nodded to her , some saying "shake it off'...'get it next time'...

  Max  stood there with his arms  crossed, a smirk on his  face as he looked out over the field.

  Bronk Nodded to her when she got to ther sidelines,..no big Deal Tali... you'll have a lot more kicks  coming!

  Sims  just  gave her a wink and a smiles  as she and Smokey walked past...The fans where  still shouting...the crowd was still alive...Dragons still lead ,14-0 with 7:02 in the 1st quarter.

  2nd and 4 Cowboy 32...HB Quick pitch right, Just as he planted to turn up field, Tibbs  was hit from behind  with a salvafe  block..Flags  flew  everywhere.., the back picked up 13 yards on the playt, but the  Clip was from one yard  past the Line of scrimmage...Dragons  took the flag..it was now   2nd abd 18 at the Cowboy 14

  The HB had slammed the ball on the Ground   , the Cowboys huddled  up, bitching at each other Until Cowlings  took charge of the huddle.

  He tried a TE screen, But it only pick up 4 yards, before Payne slammed  the TE to the truf, Pushing theman down as he got up, saying,..that was your warning...don't come in the middle anymore...

 3rd  and 14 and the Cowboy 18..6:27 left.

  Cowlings  faked a Draw, none of the dragions took the bait  as they dropped into coverage,  Dalton and Wheeler  coming off the  endges, as the D line stunted to take  away  the Middle....

Ricky was slowly getting into the groove of the game.  Though the last two plays weren't the greatest, he was ready for the next one.  Dashing to the edges and hoping to get around to either deflect the ball, get the ball, or get the player who gets the ball.

He was stiff arming the offensive players trying to block him from blocking as he passed.

  The ball was snapped, the Half back faked the Block, then faked the going  up the Middle and  Holing, Payne Gave him a shot. 3 yards from the line of scroimmage and kncoked the back down, Wheeler was pushing past  the OT on the right of the QB.,    Cowlings was ready to step up into the Pocket, when the Dt and DE stunted, and  all he could see was green helmets and jersey's Pouring In, He Pivoted to roll up to his Left....Only to find that DAlton hand  Hand fought his  way past the  OT on his  side, One more the newest DE Slammed into  the QB, Once More, Cowlings somehow, Hung onto the Ball , but   was down at his own 9 yard line...

  If the  crowd was jcaked up before?  The announcers needed  to get a dictionary, for the level of thier feeligns now!...The  Dragons's on the scoreboard  were Drowned out  By the waves off noise cascading down onto the field..Amota  engineers worked  hard, to have the accustics , funnel , most of the nosie  , onto the  plating surface.

  This Time  Kane was Picking  Dalton up,  Payne  and   Wheeler  danicng  around him...2 sacks!...the clock was runnign as the Punt team came out. The Cowboys looked  tired...heads hung, hands were on hips, while  Dragons capered , or Jumped on the sidelines...the  stadium "waved" in an odd sort of way, as the dragon Stomp sounded over the  Video Screen, and the fans  danced  and  swayed with the steps.

 Sims sent  Mik out to return the Punt...The  Ball went high, end over end as it caught the  Punter's foot, Mik gathered it in and returned it  for 6 yards to the  Dragon 38...once more, great filed position...

 Dragons' Bal;l 1st and 10 on thier  38. 5:37 left in the 1st quarter.

  Steele  Chewed his Gum as he grinned at Cowlings  going down, Cowlings had  sent them home from a bowl game as losers, when Colwlings  Lead Oklahoma to a Win vis Michiagan in the  Outback bowl, when Steele was a freshman.

  Duke  talked some things over  with Sims  Aas  Adam and the O bounced out to the Field...Adam  waving his hands  up into the air, the Crowd responding with  a huge Roar.

   Kane Grinned at Dalton,Ain't helpin' you no more..you'er upstaging me!

 Worth came  by on his way to see Lewis, he Pulled off his helmet and Gave Dalton a slap on the back, as he said Loud enough to be heard over the roar,don't get too haappy!...we have a long way to go!..Keep your heads...your  heart..in the game!

Letting Kane help him up, he quietly looked back at the Qb that he sacked again.

Heading off the field, he took a breather content with the outcome of what just happened.

Nah, man, he said.  It's all good.  You'll have to show me your moves again some other time, that way I can be half as good as you.

He gave a nod at Worth. I won't be that happy until we finish this game with a win.

Ben indeed bounced out on to the field, picking up the rythym of the Dragon Stomp on his way to take his place in the scrimmage line.

   with the snap of the ball,  Duke  faked a Pump to Ben, then hit  Mik in the flats, Mik was Upended after  a 2 yardv gain.

  2nd  and 8 , Dragon 40.. Duke  dropped back and was flushed  from the pocket, His head turned  with the  BAll up near his shoulder  , even as he sprinted to his  right, He Fired a  Pass to Bennie, But it was a wee bnit to high for the "other" short reciver...

  3rd down 8, Dragon 40 4:53 in the 1st.

  Duke   didn't even bother  with fakes thistime, as soon as he Back foot planted, he fired the BAll in Bronk's direction, the BAll was only about 5 yards way , when he turned, his hands  coming up out of Muscle Memory. He Snagged the Ball ,and was driven out of  bound  for a 9 yard gain...

 1st and Ten Dragon 49..

 No sooner the  players lined up, Duked  called for the snap, the pressure was a little hard on the Dragons, Hustling to get to the Line..freezing , so they don't get called for Motion...but they did it  1000's of times through the preseason....The Cowboys, were dragging..the first game of the  regular season, most of the  starters  didn't play more then a half in the last game..and only a few series  before that. People laughed a Sims small Play book..but he just laughed back and  would say ..I have all year to add to the book..right now?..I am making players...

    The  Ball came out  again quickly. the D-line  was  gettign Knocked back, or knocked down, by the lighter...stronger..faster O-line of the Dragons....though none would have said it...some of the Vets were worried about the change in thier work outs and lifting...But seeing how they came off the back quickly...hit the Cowboys  solidly, and were still able to Hustle, play...after play...they began to grow more confident..and they could smell the blood in the water...

 ...Down field, Ben Hauled in the PAss...both safeties had  to pull him down, Gain of 21..1st and  10 on the Cowboys30..4:01 left.

  1st down... Duke  handed to Lucas, once more he  followed  Miles  and Sloan, a pick up of  8 hard  yards...Duke was calling all the plays at the line,rarely looking over to Sim who watched, and talked to the coaches upstairs.

  2nd  2 at the Cowboy 22.  Bennie   Cut  a quick lsant, Duke threw the ball right past the helmet of the OLB as he turned his ehad to look for Bennie, Bennie  snagged it  and was Brought down by Morris at the Cowboy 13..2nd  and 1..3:36..

   2nd  and  One, Duke faked the hand off to Lucas and Fired a slant to  Bronk,Morris  Broke on the ball and Got there a step too early Hitting Bronk, as the ball hit  Morris in the head..Flags flew all ove the Place..Pass Interferance...1st and Goal on the 3

     This Time  Duke  truned  Quickly to Bronk, faked  a hard pass , and continued to spin and HAnded to Lucas going to the right...Lucis  followed Higgins into the endzone for a TD!...The roars from the Crowd and the dragons  shook the house  again, The O-line, who had adpoted Lucas as one of thier own, because of his blocking,  Banged Him on the PAds as they swarmed him..Duke was running towards the sidelines with both hands in the air...he didn't look like a 8 year vet..but   rather  a Freshman  college QB, that scored  for the first time....His grin was as wide  as Any in the stadium...

  Off to teh Side, two Refs Pulled Morris  and Bronk apart, Mik Dragging Bronk by the  Collar of His pads, and the  CB Pushing  Morris  toeards thier own sidelines...those at home, coukld hear from the "big ear" devices on the sideline Bronk says,..That was it Morris..You had your chance....better  keep your ehad on a swivel...cause i'm gonna light you up!...and MY HIT WILL BE LEGAL!


 MIk dragged the Little  wideout towards thier bench, saying,..sure as heck..You'll get you chance..eh?  You can plant that Hoser into da ground  right and proper...Just  get your arse to the sidelines...


  Sims Looked down the Line, Fry's eyebrow was up, as  Sims said,Tali!...get your folks out there!  the score stood at20 -0..pending the PAT...there was 2:46 left in the  1st quarter.

Ben trotted off grinning with delight. He came by Bronk.

"C'mon Adam. Get your revenge by playing better 'ball and racking up a score, not by thumping people."

He grinned at Tali.

"You go, Dragon..."

Tali was still replaying her kick over and over in her mind as she stared vacantly at the field.  She couldn't quite figure out how she's missed such an easy kick.  She wrinkled her nose in disgust at herself, and blinked as she got a helmet slap.  She looked toward Fry and back toward the field.  She saw the PAT already running out, and frowned as she jogged out after them.

Tali monitored the line-up, and took her position.  She waited for the snap, and then kicked through the placement for the uprights and the extra point.

 Tali stood behind  Smokey and  Nodded her head, Smokey called the Snap..The Ball came  Back smartly, Smokey set it Down, However...Bilson, One of the BAck upo DTs  for the Cowboys came in and Blocked the Kick, Bowling over Cornell Thomas, the Dragons  BAckup OG.

  The Ball Bounced  away..dead..since it was a PAT...Bilson was Hollaring   and  Got in Tali's Face,..Hadja like dat little Girl!...Hadja like dat!

  Smokey stepped between them, and  Bilson Pushed him and Grinned...

  Miles , Sloan and Higgins  came up to them..Thomas  was heading to the sidelines Throwing his helmet at the bench, once he hit the white.

   Bilson turned to Miles  and the O-line and Sneered,..Whatsa madder...'friad the little girl can't take it...

  The three  O-lInemen weren't  going  anywhere without Smokey and Tali, Mile  laughed  Bilson's grin shrank a bit  as he  jogged his round body towards the sidelines...,..Yea..You did really good man..you blocked a PAT...now you guys are only losing 20-0!..get outta here before  we make sure you don't play another  down..



  Smokey Nodded to the O-line,Comon' Dudette...get a  drink and  relax..whole lot of game to go...

 Max  and the  Kickoff team were headed out bon to the field, as the others  came off  they could see Thomas  getting read the  riot act by Fry, who's face was beet read  as he waved his hands  around, Thomas was visably angry..and  nodded his  head, Now  and then Glaring across the filed to see if he could see Bilson...

The girls were just as excited as the guys were that ran to greet Lucas in the end zone, though the girls ended up just hugging among themselves.  They calmed down briefly to get a chant going with Lucas' name and to get the crowd start chanting as well.  Soon his name could be echoed off the stadium.

Celeste saw what transpired between Adam and the other teams player, she simply let him and the players deal with it.  If she got in the middle, she'd probably be kicked off the team.

Bolting for the end zone and breathing sigh of relief, Lucas took off his helmet and waved at the crowd even with the surrounding players coming to cheer him on.

Great to be here, he said.  There we be Dragons!!

He yelled towards Ben's direction.

Ben grinned back.

"WE BE DRAGONS, HEAR US ROAR!" he yelled back.

  Max  Kicked off..Higher this time, the ball came down on the 1, the Returnman gathered it in, and broke a Tackle by Best, then cut off towards the right of the  field. Klay had the Angle on him  and Max was trying to get in his way...the  Runner Lowered his  shoulder and Blasted into Max, at the same time Klay hit  him, the trio Rolled across the  field for some 5 yards...whistles Blowing  over and over..when the Refs came to untangle them...Max was out cold...the Cat came out onto the field...Trainers  hovered around the fallen Kicker.

 The Ball was on the  50 yard line 1st and 10..2:24 left in the 1st Quarter.

  The first play was a run for 6 yards...2nd and 4 on the Dragon 44, They ran again, the Back broke a tackle by Wheeler and picked up a total of 12 yards before being brought down, by Worth.

  1st and 10 Dragon 32. The Cowboys looked like they might be on a roll, Cowlings faked the pitch this  time  and Set to send the BAll down field towards the Cowboy WR , who had beat Santos...

  Adam Prowled the Sidelines  like a caged beast...He galred out through the facemask at the ther  sidelines  , Drinking  from a cup of  Poweraide as he did.

 Sims  looked back was he waited  for Max to be taken from the field, he smiled  and Nodded, Lewis Looked over  at him,...you going to take him out  until he calms down?

  Sims chuckle was almost evil,..oh no...Mr. Lewis...Morris made a big mistake.....there is going to be hell to pay out there....

  Smokey sat near Tali talking with her, trying to cheer her up.

Seeing the first set of plays get a few yards, Dalton growled at the fact that they had.  He looked to Kane before they hit the line o scrimmage.

Bet on who gets to the ball first? he asks jovially.  Maybe you can make up for me outshowing you.

Tali was unimpressed when a member of the opposite team got into her face in an effort to taunt her.  The error had not been a poor placement of her lead foot, or the kick.  The failure occurred somewhere in the PAT, who failed to block the oncoming rush.  She thought it was cute when her own teammate immediately started to defend her, but as they ran back she moved alongside him.  She said, "Thank you sticking up for me.  Don't draw penalties for it though yes?"

She moved to the sidelines, and once again lined up with the team along the sideline.  She watched Max's approach and kick, and then the return.  She winced as Max took the block and stood up on her tiptoes as he didn't get up afterward.  She moved over toward the area he was taken to and asked, "He ok?"

  Max was wincing  in pain as Harry worked on his legs, When Tali came over, he shook his head,..one of them is broken...not sure about the other..we have to  get some pictures...   He waved to the  driver  and the cart drove to the  Gate near the Entrance  that had the Tunnel which lead to the Medical Center of the  stadium.

  Fry comes Over  and  watches  MAx  being driven off, he turns to Tali,..Ok Girl..you'er  kicking off now as well...so..get yourself ready....

  Kane, wheeler, and Dalton, all beat thier Blocks, Cowlings pivoted  and  tried to run to his  Right. Kane Granned him but hi hegs, as  Dalton slammed into his Bod..the  Three men went  down in a Pile, the  Croiwd  went  crazy once more. Sacked  for a 6 yard loss!...2nd and 16 at the  dragon 38.

   Dalton and  Kane were each given  1/2 sack by the stat folks.  Cowlings was snapping at the Offesne in the Huddle. At the  second  snap, he tried to hit the Te  going across the middle, but the ball was dropped ...23rd and 16...1:12 left in the quarter.

 on third down Cowlings  tried to Hit the wideout  on a deep Post. Worth, pivoted and   Jumped int he  air and Tipped the ball away...out came the Dallas FG team.

  The ball was  spotted on the 45...this  would make the FG a 55 yard try!. The  men in the Booth shook thier ehads as they said,..don't know  about this...I mean..55 yards?..his longest is only 48?...The dragons  are Going to get good field postion, if he misses...

   The FG team snapped the BAll, the Kick was straighte enough Best waited at the Goalline, incase the try was short...the BAll came down  , 5 yards short of the crossbar..Best let the ball bounce  away...Dragons ball on thier 45!..The Quarter ended and the  teams  switched sides.

Haha...now that is what I call a dog pile, Ricky said to Kane.  He helped Kane up this time and headed to the sidelines to relax a bit and get some refreshment.

 As  The Offense moved out on the  field, Morris  ran  towardsBronk and  shouted,..we stopped you before...then?..Your Little girl can come  out and botch another one!...

  Bronk Turned around  and  Backpeddled towards his Huddle as he shouted back,...she just feels  sorry for you guys..She thought we were playign the Cowboys...not the Cowgirls!

  Duke reched out and slapped Bronk across the top of the Helmet,shut up Bronk!..Get your head in the game!

 Bronk Grinned over at him,...it always is, Duke...

 ..Ok..first sound...999..everyone deep, backs  block..see if we can surprise them.

   The Ball was snapped, the Cowboys were gettign  used to the first sound, but it hurt them worse during a drive, then it did on the first play opf a drive,..Still Adam, Bennie  and Ben took off down field  as Lucas amd  Mik helped keep the bad guys off Duke, who Looked  to see where he was letting the seep one go....

Ben was glad to be out on the field again, and scorched off up the field, eyes swiveling to spot the ball.

  Bennie came off the Ball, but was hit hard  by the Corner, who made him step out of bounds..the Ref's  hat flew to make  Bennie  as having stepped out...

  Bronk had a step and a half on his corner, but Morris  was breaking towards  him. Leaving Ben  sliupping  up the  middle past the slower Linebackers...the Strong Safety, McNiel, broke on the ball as  Ben went up for it...

Letting Lu-Ti take charge for this play and drive, she walked over to the sidelines and where the defensive players and coaches were standing.  She stood near one of the coaches to listen in on how the offensive team is going on the field to help with the next set of cheers that the girls would do.

Hows it looking Lewis? she asked cooly.

Lucas hustled onto the field with the offensive line and quickly took his three point stance readied to attack the first cowboy that thought he could break the offensive line.  He looked at the player in front of him and gave him a playful wink.

Hey babe, nice purse you got there, he said jokingly and then in a snap gave him his cold hard stare.

Ben rose to clasp the ball, but as he gathered it in McNeil crashed into him and they went down in a tangle of bodies, rolling over and coming to rest just short of the line!

  Ben and McNeil layed on the turf, the Ball one yard  shy of the first down mark.

  2nd  and One, Duke Fajed to Luvcus Goign into the Line, turned his shoulders, just a bit as if he was Looking for Bronk, then quickly Snapped the ball off to Lucas  as he came out the  other side of the Line, Lucas picked up 6 yards and a 1st down.

  Duke pitched the ball to Mik who picked up 5 vyards  for a Second and 5 at the  Cowboy 31. clock running with 13:56

 2nd  Down   Bronk was Hit  by the Corner, But he spun off the Man, as many of his teammates  watched  him practice  with  standup dummies, His  left arm  went up in the  air as he looked back for Duke to see he had the sideline...Duke was about to throw to Bennie, when he saw the waved arm from the Corner of his   eye, he Turned  and fired  as he got blasted  bt the DT of the Cowboys...the  ball wobbled  a bit  coming  Out, and a bit behind  Adam who stopped  and Dove backwards to catch it...Morris  Dove on top of him as hard  as He could, But Adam expected it as he curled up to keep hold of the ball.

 1st and 10 at the Cowboy 19... The dragons lined up quickly and  Duke  Faked the Draw  and Followed Lucas  through the hole to pick up 4 yards... and the team hustled back to the line, Duke calling  signals  even as he was walking backwards to take his spot behind the center...2nd a 6 at the Cowboy 15...13:22 left.

    No sooner the snap Hit Dukes  HAnd he fired into  Ben in the middle, he caught the ball and was brought down on the  6...1st and Goal at the Cowboys 6..13:58 left.

  The Next snap, Duke called out  some instructions for the  O-line,  when he took the snap, he  half rolled to his right, Looked over his Recivers  and fired into the endzone..

the Score stood at 26-0..with 13:12 left in the first Quarter.

  The Crowd was Hungry...savage even..it had been years since they saw a confident, hungry football team..A team that seemed it might wipe out the past 15 years of embarrassment in one game!

 The  Bleachers shook...The Dragons Roared.

 Fry Looked to Sims,..Chart says we should go for two....

  Sims  shook his head whistling through his teeth to Wave Tali and the PAT team out,..be a cold  day in hell when a chart tells me what to do...besides...most charts  say we should be losing...

 Fry Nodded and Shrugged,  Lewis  was giving  the  D  some  orders, he looked at Celeste,we got them on the run...the first quarter was ours..everyone saw that...but we have a whole game to play..and Your Damn..'Bomb'..keeps going off out there...he's gonna make them mad...

Celeste gave a chuckle to Lewis' comment about Adam being his normal enigmatic self.  She turned to walk away and towards Adam when he came to the sidelines.  Isn't that the point of his "bomb" shells, she said smiling and walked away.

Ben capered with delight and congratulated Lucas as they returned to the sidelines to watch the PAT team do its business.

Tali frowned as she learned of the sorry prognosis for Max, and rejoined the team.  She remained on the sideline, frowning as she watched the game.  She knew her performance had been touch and go so far, but she seemed to be getting the position because they had no better choice.  She wondered if she was bound for the practice squad, before Max's accident occurred.  Before she knew it, she was being waved out with the PAT.  She pulled her helmet on and snapped the chin strap down as she jogged along with the special teams.

She decided to leave the ghosts of those thoughts where they belonged; her back mind.  She lined up, watched the snap and sent the ball sailing through the uprights without issue.  She jogged back to the sideline, to wait for whatever was decided for the kick.  She assumed it would be a regular PK, but stranger things and all that.  She moved over to Fry and asked, "Touchback, or coffin corner?"

Ben was waiting when Tali returned after her kick.

"Magic!" he grinned, "Knew you could put them away once you settled."

  Tali's  Kick went Jigh and  straight, almost going over the   net recovery net..The score  was 27-0.

  Once  Tali talked with the others,  Fry came over   and rubbed his  chin a bit, he looked at her and said,ok..now...you got the pads and the helmet..but those guys out there  out weigh you buy  a whole 'nother body!...Sims  likes the ball to come down about  4 or 5 yards  deep..so they think about bringinh it back, gives  our  guys another  half second to get down there....

 As she  turns to go, Fry grabs her  are and whispers, Kick it  as deep as you can..if they can't return it..you can't get jacked up...

Tali listened to Fry, nodding as she stared out at the field.  It made sense really.  She could technically get hurt if they returned it.  She frowned as she jogged out to the kickoff team.  She took the new ball from the ref and began squeezing it against her chest, rotating it, and repeating the process before she set it up on her tee.  She backed up and raised her arm.  She looked down field, made her decision, and dropped her hand even as she started running to boot the ball down field.

As she got to the tee, the ball was starting to roll off the tee, even as she swung her foot through it.  She swore in Hebrew, knowing she'd totally doffed the kick, and prepared herself to be the last line of defense if need be.

  Tali Hit the Ball, everyone saw the Ball slipping  away, she could have stopped, and hoped the Refs  didn't call offsides, but..there is was,  the  ball tipping  awkwardly as  she whacked it....

  The Ball Bounced sidelways, then Hopped into the air  like rabbit..Backup CB  Lenny Jers...his only playing time..even in preseason was on return  teams....normal NFL teams  would have cut him outright.. But Sims ( over Lewis's complains)..kept the smallish white CB from a Tiny College in Colorado...his effort..his drive...kept him on the team...The  Kid's reflexes and awarenessfactored ion as he   Jumped  up and caught the Ball at the Cowboy 49...the Cowboys  were caught   by surprise, ( as were the whole of the dragon team and staff)..When Jers  came down witht he ball and was Jumped on , by a LB from the Cowboys ..Dragon's Ball 1st and 10 on the Cowboy 49!

 13:09 left in the first half.

 The Cowboys' sideline was chaotic...Cowlings threw his lemet into the bench and  lifted his hands up in the air as he looked across the filed at the dragons...The Head Coach was Hollering at the Refs, who just shook thier ehad and pointed  in the diretion the   Dragons would be going.

 Up and the Booth the  announces were as shocked as everyone else...what appeared to be an Onside kick, with a 27-0 lead?...thought the replay shows the ball slipping away, none  could tell , at this point, if  it was set to do that..or not...

  Jers was greeted  with slaps on the  back and highfives...Fry was grinning shaking his head as he looked at Tali,..or?...You could do that....


  Sims  Hollared  for  1st team Offesne..and the  Dragons scampered out once more...

Tali ran off the field as the "onside kick" was successful.  She moved over to Fry who either was as surprised as everybody else, or was being terribly sarcastic, and she shook her head.  She said, "Only thing save me is quick thinking return team.  Still, good for this team morale, bad them.  Sorry.  Next time I take penalty."  She unsnapped her chin strap, and pulled her helmet off as she watched the "O" hurry back onto the field.

  Fry gave her  a pat of the shoulders and smiled,..one time...long ago..there was a DB..he wasn't a bad player...just not as good as the guys on his team....he ended up getting  a game ball for a playoff game , that sent them to the NFC championship..the reason?..because he  Blocked a Punt, and  recovered it  and returned it  for the go ahead Touchdown...the  films  show him beating the Blcoker, putting up his hands   the Ball hitting his hands   and    then the Ground, then bouncing  into his hands as he chased it....

  Coach Fry's  eyes  shifted as his voice lowered,..what no one knows?  The  Blocker sneezed as the ball was snapped, Giving the DB a chance to slip by him, untouched and block the kick...now? that football could have bounced  anyway it wanted..but it chose to Bounce up into My..I mean..the player's hands...and it was a short 30 yard  run for the go ahead Touchdown....so?...never look down on the good bounce of a ball...you might make the Gods of Football angry...  he winked and walked towards  the  players hwo would be on the Punt team, incase they had to kick.

Grinning with delight, Ben scampered onto the field as the O were summoned.

Last one to line of scrimmage pays for drinks on the house, he said with a grin catching up to Ben as they took the field.

"Cranberry juice and soda for me," replied Ben stretching his legs to get there first.

    The Dragons  ran out onto the Field, Duke  calling out signals, even as they went  stright to the Line. The Cowboys were not in a good mood. They were  being beaten, on national TV..by an expansion team!  To top it all off..The Dragons just recovered a surprise , onsides kick, and  were going stright to the Line...half the Cowboys weren't even  on the filed yet..The Cowboys had to call thier  2nd  time out of the first half!

  When the Ref  Blew  his whistle,  The Dragons   broke the Huddle..Duke stopping  in the shotgun  and braked out his signals, while Benny and  Bronk jogged out to thier  positons.

  Early in Preseason...even as  far back as his  interview, when he was selected  as Dragon's  coach..he made it  clear..there would  be no quarter asked, nor given...even now...during the   Timeout, they replayed the  interview ..I am  putting everyone on notice...we wil play the game from the start to the end...it won't matter  what the score is, how much time  there is on the clock...if  we can score..we are damn well  gonna score...if i have timeouts left?..I'm on your  10 yard line and there is  30 seconds left?...we using them to get  that touchdown...This is Pro football..you don't  want me to score 100 points on you?...Stop my guys..'cause  we're not lettin' up...

  The guys in the booth laughted,..YOu know? In Feburary, I laughed at thaty..thought he was just posturing?...but after seeing his preseaon, and seeing the dragons now?...I ..I think he means it!


  The ball was  snapped, Once More  Duke  Pumped to Bronk, the Croner tried to Grab him, Adam savagely hacked the D-back's  arm  away and broke Up Field, Duke threw the ball down the sideline, Bronk's head looked up at the ball, even as  Morris tried to catch him again..Bronk CAught the  BAll. Morris  dove  at him, tripping him  up, Bronk tried to keep his balence but fell out of bounds on the Cowboy 12 yard line!

  The Crowd..still frothing at these beating, Went  crazy again.  They  quickly lined up as soon as the Team Hustled  down field. The Cowboys ..just...made it on sides as Duke called the Snap, Giving Lucas the BAll  and he  powered up for  5 yards to the Cowboy 14.

 2nd and 5, Cowboy 14..11:56 left inthe half.  The Next play was a PAss to Benny, he caught the Ball  on a slant and was laid out at the 6 yard line..

  1st and Goal  cowboy 6..Duke went back to a play bthey used  before, this Time  Faking to Mik, who stayed to block, Lucas took the  left flat..Ben the  Middle..Bronk the back of the  Endzone on the  left..Bennie was on the right, but  was well covered...

Lucas smiled at the set of plays and even his small yardage.  It was better than nothing.  Though he'd like more, he'd have to work for it.

  Adam Broke up the sideline and waved his left arm, as he broke  slightly to the Middle..the Cover  had him covered underneth, and Morris  was roating over, trying to bait  Duke into the throw, Duke made a Half hearthed Pump, even that drew Morris over more, Then turned and Looked to the Middle, Ben Hit the Post  a Spot left open By Morris!..Lucas was open as well..But  Duke threw to the  open spot in the endzone.

  Ben's Hands reached up and Grabbed the Ball...If anyone  out int he parking lot, didn't have a radio or TV?..they would have known the Dragons scored again...from the three stadiums in New Jacksonville's Amota's Indsustrial PArk...the cheers  rolled over the landscape...

  Ben Came  down with the Ball, both feet in the endzzone, and No Cowboy defesner , near enough even to look good in the replay! The Refs Hands went up, The Dragon's  roared..the Score was now...33-0..

 Adam Ran Over  and Beat on Ben's Pads, then Bounced  away raising his arms for the FAns to hollar...he didn't need to...

 Duke was Getting up off the Ground  after a Late hit...there were flags on the field, for  roughing the passer...which would be marked off for the kickoff...

  Sims  Called out for Tali to take her team out   for the PAT...10:40 left in the half

   Adam was grinning ear to ear as he took off his helmet and took a drink from the drink girl. He nodded to Duke  who was smiling, Sims  and the QB coach came over  and were looking at the poloroids, to see what happened on the drive.

 Adam  went to the bench and sat on the backrest with his  spikes on the seat like before...He looked over to  Cel and the Dragonettes and smiled..

 In the stands  people were Jumping...there were even some older  fans with tears in thier  eyes..they couldn't believe it...was the real?..a real game..this many points and it was anywhere near half-time!

Tali shook her head, slightly amazed at the momentum of this game she was watching.  She grinned as Ben came down with another touchdown.  She strapped on her helmet and ran out with the PAT team.  She lined up, watched for the snap, and then ran forward to boot the ball.  It wasn't pretty necessarily, but the ball went through the uprights and the point was made.  She bounced a few times as she jogged back with the PAT, and clapped a couple on their shoulder pads.

She grabbed her tee, and waited for the PK special team to assemble.  She moved quickly onto field with them.  She set the tee down, and again went through the process of crunching the ball length wise a few times.  She set it carefully on the tee.  Despite of Coach Fry's pep talk, she was not really interested in a repeat of the last kick she's made.  Sure the gods favored the team last time, but she didn't like to tempt fate that often if she had a choice.

Tali backed up, looked left and right to ensure her team was assembled and ready.  She smiled at the determination she saw in their face, looked forward at the ball and dropped her arm.  She ran forward, planted her right foot and swung her left through the ball.  This time she was aiming for the end zone to force a knee.  She liked the coffin corner much better, however, she was getting a bit tired; ironically enough, and didn't really want to worry about stopping anything that might get past this defensive line.

As the ball was launched off the tee, she watched it soar end over end and knew it was not going to be in the end zone.  It fell just around the four yard line for the receiver to catch and make a go with.  Tali sighed, steeled herself for whatever might come and began to watch the return closely.

Ben's grin was far too wide for his face cage to contain as he jogged off the field, scarcely able to believe his good fortune.

He planted himself on the bench beside Adam's feet and watched Tali make the kick.

"You roar, Tali!" he called to her.

Celeste had returned briefly to the Dragonettes as she brought over refreshments and anything else they might need.  She had gathered up the trash and was bringing it back when she saw Adam looking at her and girls.  She handed the trash to one of the attendees and made her way to him.  Walking up to him on the bench seating, she leaned over to whisper in his ear.

I would ask what has you in a good mood, but seeing the score, she said.  I dare to ask.  Seems that the Cows are choking.

  ..Yep..no one thought we were for real...now?..we just got to make sure we finish this...can't let up..so noone can say it was a fluke..or first game things...I can't wait until the first idiot reporter asks me if the Cowboys were ...'looking past us'...  he Grinned as Tali Kicked off..the 15 yards, making it easy for her to kick the ball out of the endzone.

 The Cowboys Head Coach paced the sidelines..he was Barking into his ehadset, his scowel was easy to see..Players were either  stalkign thesidelines, or  snapping at eat other..some..just  looked up at one of the big boards..and shook thier heads.

  Cowlings called out the signals...the Fans were roaring loud, everything from Dragon roars, to snide remarks  to the Cowboys...any Dragon Player that remotely made a play had his ( or her) name shouted into the mix.

  In the stands, right below the Owners  Box.Alexia Ruiz sat with  the two girls who had left with her...The Camaras on the Big Boards cuaght her, and they waved to the   people through the big boards...Looking down on the Filed  , hoping to catch Cel's notice.

 The flags flew...too much time...5yards..1st and15 at the Cowboy 15..still 10:40 left.

 They tried it again, this time..Under center..He handed off to the back, who gained  2 yards, before beiung Hit  by Kane  and Payne...2nd and 13...

  The Next snap was a pitch to the left.... the halfback was Hit as he tried to turn the corner..gaining only 1 yard...the Fans grew Louder!

  3rd and 12  Cowboy   13...Cowlings  Dropped back to pass..Once more...Santos  was beaten...it came down to if  he could get the ball off.....

Anticipating what the opposing teams defense may attempt to do, Ricky took into account the previous plays they tried and other's he'd encountered to try to counteract what the offense may do.  He also took into account what Kane had told him.  He looked for the keys and when he noticed them, he bolted through the offensive line.

   Ricky took off up Field and tried to spin off, Inside to come up in Cowling's face...However..The HB was there, and Buried his helmet in Ricky's chest plate..Cowlings  Got the Ball off..Nickels..Number 81.. a second  year  player from Oregon, Hauled in the ball and was off to the Races....Worth and Best couldn't  get and Angle on him, and he crusied into the Endzone...87 yard Touchdown pass...The  Stadium went silent..the Cowboys  jumped  around, and Nickels  ran around the back off the Endzone holding the ball up and nodded his ehad at the fans with a big Grin on his face... The  PAT was good...Dragons 34...Cowboys 7...10:01 left in the half.

Celeste was just about to comment when she looked up from whispering into Adam's ear and saw that the Cowboys made the first TD.  She was as quiet as the rest of the stadium.  Her hand quietly placed upon Adam's shoulder pads.

She looked as the ball made it to the end zone and then looked back at the girls who too were in shock.

  Adam stood up on the bench as he watched the Ball Arc down the sidelines...BArely able to see the Helmet of the Cowboy reciever..He  turned to the Big Board and  watch 81 go into the endzone...DAMMIT!  he stomped on the bleacher   and  gritted his teeth.

 Lewis was beyound angry,..Santos! What the hell yoiu doing!..Sonof a.....

  there were a few Cowboy fans  in attendance..and they didn't miss the chance to chant...SANNNNTOAST!.....SANNNNTOAST!

  Sims shook his ehad   and Hollared over to the Bench, BRONK!...You and Klay..return men...Up men? watch for  a squib or onsides...

...It turned out, they didn't need to worry, the Cowboys  got some of the fire back...they could beat this team..after all..they were taking it easy on them..right?

  The Kickoff  came, almost out of the endzone, Adam Jumped up  and CAught it...coming  down with both feet , a foot or so short of the   endline..he looked up filed..he saw a couple Cowboys  Gear down  and started to sprint towards the Goal line..Klay was waving  for him to down the ball, But Adam just ran right past him...

  The Up men where hitting cowboys..they were taught..you block until you hear a whistle....One Cowboy geared  down and was flattened by back up Tackle  Vaighn Dorrin...though the Dragons had thier back turned..they could hear the crowd  roar growing, Knowing that a retrun was coming...  KLay threw up his hands   and  tried to catch up to Bronk..looking for a Cowboy to hit, that might come  from the backside... Adam's head  moved a little as he took in the  Moving figures..he saw a white jersey hit the  turf, and  sprinted to that spot..The Kicker  stood with his Mouth opened,he had the Tee in his hand..he had not thought some idiot would return the ball  from 9 yards deep!

 He ran towards the   fallen Cowboy's hole....( tee still in his hand!)..  Adam  however..didn't have anywhere to go..contain men coming from the left side...and the others  coming from the right...  Adam and the Kicker hit head On..The Kicker's helmet, and Tee Flew in differant directions...his head bounced off the turf like a bowling ball, Adam was  Pushed to his left, where  one of the contain men cleaned him up with a hard tackle...when the whistles Blew...the  trainign staff was coming onto the field for the kicker..Adam Pushed the  Corner BAck off him..slamming the ball against his other hand...1st and 10 dragons at the Dragon 49....9:42 left in the half.

Back at the Dragonettes corner, Celeste and the girls gathered along with Eve to help usher on the offense and boost the morale of the defense.  That last play had to have hurt their ego a bit.

Once they had collaborated, the girls took their stance and began to cheer like there was no tomorrow.

Lucas shook his head as he had his helmet in hand on the sidelines to enter the field after kick off.  Seeing how close they were to the goal, when it was time to enter the field he looked at Adam and smiled.

Dammit boy, he said.  You take all the fun out of it some times. Let's get this game back in our hands.

  Adam Grinned   his eyes  were wide open and he said.....think i knocked out thier Kicker?..that punter just made that PAT....bet he don't make Fieldgoals...

  Duke came in the Huddle. His eyes narrowed in anger, perhaps determination?//alright...all over the damn country, people just switched on this game, when they saw that bastard catch that Touchdown..they are  gonna be lookin' at us to fold up like a damn card house..wel...not if i can help it...Sims  says..'go out and kick thier ass..'  he shrugs  as he Buckles his chin strap,...couldna said it better myself...At the Line...hurry up..lets run the bastards into the ground.


  they broke the huddle, Adam Lined up on the Cowboys sideline, Teh CAochj yelled over,HEY BRONK...YOU GODDAMN BUSHLEAGUER...YOU"ER REAL TOUGH..HITTIN' A KICKER...

  Bronk Grinned at  him and the  Cowboys,..hey..at elast the Kicker I hit was a Guy....well...maybe it was..not sure for how seeing how easy it went down....

  Duke called  a  sweep to bronk's  side, The Corner   started to backpeddle as  Duke called the signals..thinking that there would be a pass to try to get Momentum BAck..thier  ROLB shifted a little to Bronk's  side...the BAll was Snapped and Pitched to MiK..they Line tried to give him  an edge, But  the ROLB Broke Up filed, Bronk never  heistated, He ran at an Angle that would bring His lemet  and pads in front of the Backers  Belly... The Linebacker helped the cause By turning his shoudlers to try to Force Mik back in..but the Canadian saw Bronk coming down the Line..everyone on the sidelines saw it too..but no one could do anything about it...The MAn with the  Field Dish was right there to catch the sound of the Hit...and the scream....

  Teh BAcker's Thigh gave way, all his weight on his  foot, the top part of him Bending Over the  solid little wideout who ran full speed into the man, If  Mik was concerned  at the scream, It didn't show  as he turned up field, Picking Up 15 yards on the run, before barreling into the DB, rather then step out of bounds...

 dragons Ball on the Cowboy 34..clocked stop..Injury Time out with 9:31 left.

   The Linebacker  was  screaming Holding his ruined thigh... Morris came In and Slammed Bronk in the Chest,...YOu Cheap BAstard....

 Bronk Grabbed the Man's  Jersey and Pointed to the screen,.. Big Leagues...you don't want hit..don't come near me... he shoved Morris away.

  The trainers didn't even look before waving the cart onto the field....You'er Gonna Pay for that one Bronk!

  Bronk turned   around as he walked backwards to the Huddle,hey!...You don't have to look for me..I'm easy to find...but just remember...I can hit too...and ..I WILL!  Duke  Grabbed  Adam By the BAck of the Jeresy , dragging him to thier sidelines where the drink girls came out,Adam lifted his helmet up a bit  to drink from a cup

  Lewis and Sims where Huddled with the team, Lewis looked at Bronk,Dammit Bronk..you'er out of control!

  Bronk turned and snapped at Lewis..this was game time now..the field was his..and no one was telling him differant,..Screw you Lewis!  I didn't tell him to try and blow the play up...but i had a choice..let him hit Mik..or me hit him...and i don't back off for anyone...

 Sims Nodded,..he's right Lewis...Good shot..good hit..just ..well..bad luck..that's part of the game....if we all hit like that... we'd take over the damn world...

 Lewis shook his head   and looked at something on his sheets. The CArt came off the field  taking the LB to the Medical Facilities in the  stadium..the team doctor running along side..the dragon Fans  stood  and clapped out of respect...but as soon as the whistle blew..they began to roar again....

  The big boards  at the stadium showed the hit a total of 15 times..3 times for each camara view...there were no flags..the Coach screamed  and the Ref  pointed at the screen.

 In the booth, the Ref "expert" commented on the hit, using  the  amrkers to show why it was a legal hit. He added,..I will say this..it was indeed a brutal hit..but perfectly legal...just..one of those things...

  each time  they showed the replay..people in the stands Ooohhhhed....some even cheered....

  The  back up ROLB was a 3rd year man from Santa Clara...only ever played on kick coverage teams. he was loosening up.

Ben was all-a-quiver to get back out as soon as the O was called.

He went over to Adam after his tackle, and patted his shoulder.

"Legal hit, man, tough break for the Cowboys but that's football."

He went over to the huddle to find out what he was doing next, still as full of energy as at the beginning of the game.

  They were in  the Huddle as the whistle blew to start the play clock, Miles Looked at Bronk and Nodded, as  did Sloan and Higgins. Bronk Just Grinned as he turned to  Duke,..same thing..pedal to the metal..we  don't take it off until the  clock has  4 zeros in the 4th quarter...At the Line..Play hard...

  As they Broke the Huddle, bronk eagerly ran out to his spot near the  Cowboys' sideline, checking with the ref to make sure he was off the line,

 One of the Cowboys called out,..HEY!..YOu Cheap bastard...how many more you gonna try and take out!  one of the  Oline for the Cowboys  was  holding back  a Back up wideout who was shooting of hgis Mouth,

 Bronk turned, giving him a Grin, Let's see...53 men active...minus 2...guess that means 51 more!

 The  wideout shouted somethign bnut it was lost to Bronk as Duke snapped the Ball. He Hit Ben Going to the Left, Bronk's  side of the Filed..the  Little Wide  up was running a slant, that turned into a Blocking angle when Ben caught the Ball... He  ran, Chest High into Morris..Text book...hit "through" the man... Both went Down, But Bronk rolled and Got up only to be pushed down By the  other Safety..it didn't matter  Ben had Picked up 11  more yards...1st and 10 on the Cowboy 23. (:01  at the snap..

  1st 10 Cowboy 23..Duke took the  ball and Fired it Into Bronk who ran a skinny post, the Ball and Morris  got there at the same Time, Bronk held onto the Ball as he was blasted  backwards  some 3 yards..forward progress was marked at the Cowboy 15..2nd and  2.

  The  Cowboys  crowded the Line,  Duke  fakes the  Pitch to Lucas going rig..he held the Ball Low as Mik came  from the toehr side and took the forward handoff and  picked up 3 yards...

 1st 10 at the Cowboy 12...8:39 left..They kept the Huddle close to the Line, so the cowboys  couldn't sub in, then would  line up quickly, the ball coming on first sound  most of the time.  Duke  Threw the  ball , well over Bronk's head...

 2nd  and 10... Duke rolled  to his right, but he wasn't a runner. The LOLB Hit  him at the Dallas 19...loss of 7

  3rd and 17... Duke  fired the Ball into Benny on a Skinny post, But he was hammered as the ball got there..Incomplete...

  Sims Didn't even wait..TALI!....Get your team out there..lets get 3....

  The O came off the Field..more then a little Bummed out...Sims just nodded,...we'll go back to the game plan next week...she has to get all of her preseaon in one game!

 The Line  was the 19....the spot of the ball would be the 26..making it a 36 yard  FG attempt..

  The  Announcers, filling in time while the Kick team came on..all the commericals were being jammed in when they could, with the Dragon's  Quick offesne..they didn't have a chance for a TV timeout!

  According to our stats?  Duke Fillings has tossed 27 passes for 18 complete and 406 yards and 4 Touchdowns...Now...he has topped his whole 4 year career in one half!...Bronk has Over 100 yards and  Hope is just 3 yards  shy of 100...with a whole half to go!

 well..whatever this Offesne is..However Sims  has trained and Motivated  his players? Its working...if they keep this up? There could be  alot of reacords fall!

Tali watched the O battle hard to gain ground, and ultimately the score of the drive would fall on her narrow shoulders.  She snapped her chin strap on and trotted out to the line as though it was just another day of practice kicking for her.  She rolled her shoulders and bent her head right and left as she hopped up and down to her her thigh muscles in the spirit of things.  She had a true advantage to some others, as she was used to derision, sneering and jibes... so never let them get to her; despite the Cowboys' defensive line shouting out at her to try to freeze her.  She raised her eyebrows and chuckled at a fairly nasty barb that was directed at her mother of all people, and she grinned as she shut all noise out.

Tali lined up behind the placement spot.  She leaned in, watched the ball snap and ran forward.  This time she was fairly confident in her kick as soon as her foot made contact with the pigskin.  There was very little chance of this one missing at this distance.  She didn't dare do what she wanted, which was turn and trot back before the ball sailed through the uprights.  She instead did what she was supposed to; stay out of the way of over-zealous and angry defensive players that might not care if they drew a flag if they could take her out for it.

  the screen showed a Little  helmeted figure ran towards a football, almost as large  as she was ( hair flowed out of the back of the helmet)..the  foot hit the ball and  the ball went end over  end, a face on the ball screaming as it sailed through the uprights....Big letters flashed on the board in  differant colors its good!

  when she came to the sidelines to get her Tee. Fry Grinned at her,...kick it deep Girlie!

  The Defense gave her  high fives and  pats on the helmet...


Dragons 37, Cowboys 7...8:29

Ben left the field as Tali went on to attempt a field goal and got himself a drink, then watched her kick as he sipped at it, whooping with the rest as it went over.

He then perched on the edge of the bench as she went to kick off, itching to get back on the field.

Tali grinned wildly as the Dragons around her seemed to accept her a bit more, now that she'd finally successfully done the harder part of her job.  She nodded at Fry, grabbed her tee and moved out to set up.  She went through her usual ritual of scrunching, setting, and backing up.  She looked left and right, raised her arm, and dropped it as she rushed forward.  She planted her right foot well, and swung her left foot through the ball with every intention of doing exactly as directed this time.

As soon as her foot struck the ball, Tali bounced a few times on her right foot to keep her balance, but didn't even bother to prepare for the oncoming rush.  She wasn't cocky enough to pick her tee off the field, but there was no way that ball was being returned.  It sailed high up in an end over end spin, and if it had been straight on, rather than toward the endzone's corner, it would have gone through the uprights; and instead dropped fairly far back into the first tier of the stands.  Tali grinned and spoke encouragement to herself in Arabic as her team slowed their rush to move off toward the sidelines.

  The  Crowd Gasped...the  Cheered as the BAll sailed high and far , as the Pumped up Tali kicked it...

  The Camara showed the Ball landing int eh stands..A Guy holding it up, before giving it to his daughter who hugged it like a Teddy bear.

  though none  in thestadium would see it...and most folks would not see it until the highlight shows that night...those who were watching regional games were interupted with this.....alright folks..here at  Football Central..we try to show you highlights as they happen, if you are not getting the feed of that game...watch this kickoff....it lands  three rows back ont he left side of the endzone....what is so surprising? well...it is the first Kickoff in some6 years to reach the bleachers , without aid, of  penalty yardyards....

  the  Camara zooms in on Tali's  face as she watches the Ball hit the stands,...and..it was done by the Dragons' Rookie Placekicker, who happens to be the first Modern era woman to play in the NFL....by the way?..the dragons Lead the Cowboys  37 -7!

  Back on the filed, Cowlings...and perhaps  , most of the Dallas  team were starting to press They had to score 30 points in 2 1/2 quarters...just to tie!...and that would also mean..the dragons  couldn't  score at all... The announcers had  already commented on how the Dallas  team looked tired....things  did not look good...

    Cowlings took one step back and fired a shot to the WRs who ran a quick post..the WR was brought down after a gain of 6..2nd  and 4

  Next play..running the hurry up Offesne themselves..Cowling hit The TE  and for 5...1st and 10 on the Cowboy 31...7:45

 Once more Cowlings   dropped BAck, He faked the  pass to the  WR, and Lofted a ball deep to Nickles, who had beaten Santos  again. Nickels brought theball in, but was  brought down by Worth.

  1st and 10 at the Dragon 40...7:03

   they broke   the Huddle  and tried to hit the TE again, But  Wheeler  Jarred the ball loose...2nd  and 10..dragon 40..6:49

 The Next play The ball was incomplete...but holding was called on the Cowboys..raher then wave it off to give them 3rd..Sims  motioned to take the yards..pushing the Cowboys  back 10 more yards...2nd and 20 on the 50 yard line..6:36

   The Nest Play was a draw,,didn't work quite well as Payne  dignosed it and hit the BAck as he broke the line, gain or 3... 3rd and 17...6:23..

   Cowlings  dropped back , deep...Both backs  stayed in to Block.the  TE had faked a curl and shot stright up the field...Both safties  had shifted to top cover the  WRs   who streaked up the sidelines past the DBs...The TE was wide open...

  Kane Jumped to get in the QBs  face..wheeler  Jumped the Curl....Only Dalton had a chacne to do something ...

  When Tali came off the Field..Bronk Nodded to  Ben and Jumped off the Bench,going over to Tali he said,..nice touch!...the field goal was great...but that Kickoff was just showing off!

 Fry was  Grinning from ear to ear..his new Kicker  seemed to  be shaking off the  nerves...

The new kid on the block, the rookie that had just been picked up as part of a theory or a hunch that the owner had. The man carried himself with a smile as he sat down onto the side-lines. Those dark, hazel hues of his glancing to and from the field as the play began to progress.

Body began to raise, his head tipped up and that thick accent wavered into the air from a shout. "Hit him!... C'mon get to'em like a bee on honey!"

A vibrant metaphor from the man who spend most of his recent time here going over a few of the plays by the Dragons to try and prepare himself to get in the game if he was called up for today but the Rookie was late to camp, so what did that say about his chances for tonight's game? Jarrod was optimistic as always thought.

Ricky had helped to keep some of the players he was blocking from making a play the ball going in the opposite direction than him or past him.  He couldn't play superman and save the ball everytime, but he sure would try.

THis time, seeing the TE open and the ball still in the QB's hands, he watched the ball, the QBs arm and made a mad dash for where the ball would end up.  Kicking and pressing his cleats into the ground to get to that ball before the player did, dirt could be seen flying up and behind as he dashed to it.

  Rcikey came In Jumping to get his hand in the way of the pass..Cowlings, after being sacked by the rookie already, Tossed the ball before his BAck foot was set..the  Ball wobbled in the air. ..the TE couldn't stop in time to Come back...and the Ball bounced around   5 yards short of him.

   Cowboys were in disarray..thier PK was out...still in the Medroom getting  treated/looked at..thier Punter was never a place kicker...even then..from the 50?..no way..they Punted..the Ball went out at the Dragon 12

  Bennie was  limping a bit as the Off3esne went to take the Field, Sims Grabbed him,..Easy Bennie..go see Harry before you go out there....

 Mackins and Givens looked up from the bench...until they heard  Sims  shout,..THOMPSON!..Ready to earn some of that Check?

 Givens   started to bitch,WTF!...You putting anyone in this game!

  Bronk chuckled  as he moved  past Givens,...naw..just those who can catch!

  Givens tossed  a paper cup of water aty him , but it fell short as   the dragon Offesne came onto the Field...Adam rasing his hands  for the People to cheer...to let the Cowboys know...they WERE NOT...America's team.

Wait?... Did he just hear his named call? Adrenaline spouted through those veins as the beacon of the head popped up into the air to call right back, his hands fondling with the helmet, taking it up from off the ground in a hurried fashion. "Yes-sir! I'm ready to show yah what d'ese feet are for, don'tcha worry about that!"

Rising to his vertical base, his hands gripping the helmet from the front, before adjusting it to slip it on his head. A pat down on top, ensured it was snug and placed on his head correctly, the dragons logo proudly displayed on the sides. His feet beginning to jog him towards the field. Hands fumbling with the the chin-guard straps, hooking it together for safety protocol.

Ben, as usual bolting straight out as soon as the O was called, looked back at the call for the new WR, and held out a hand to him.

"C'mon Jarrod... come and roar. We be Dragons!"

  Duke   was still talkign to Sims  as they waited for the TV time out to be over.

 The ball was on the Dragon 12, 1st and 10 , 5: 47 left in the half.

   Miles  and the other O-line Looked up at Jarrod as he  entered the Huddle, Miles looked at Bronk who shrugged,..he can catch..I'm not holding  it against him, that he's too tall...  he tried to keep a straight face, but the grin broke through and Miles started to laugh was well..

  Duke  Looked up at the Scorboard clock as the refs told them the TV timeout was almost over, He  snapped his helmet, a lingering look at the Cowboys who were watching him  head towards the Huddle.

 ..Alri8ght..we know what Coach wants.....no running out the clock..we try to kick some more ass...if nothing else?..he wants us  to get Tali another FG try..Thompson?..You didn't get much work in..so?..Just  line up quick..listen for the Patterns...as long as you are in, You line Up on our sideline, Bronk always takes the  BAdguy's sideline..he likes that....

 Wiggins and Sloan liked that and laughed.

  ..so?...9..9..9...wrs deep..TE deep..no matter what happens  run to the Line, the rest of the plays will be called from there...even if we don't score..were gonna run thier damn legs off....

   Duke took two steps back from Miles as he dropped into  the shotgun, he called the ball and  tokk another Step Back, He Pumped to Bronk, the  looked over the field....all three recievers were breaking past thier   Cover..no one thought the dragons would go deep , this late into the quarter....

Sliding his way into the huddle, his frame moving to try and get inside the group talk session, his back hunched over as the shoulders rolled. His eyes gazed down, sent in to look down at the others from the huddle.

"Line up quick, listen to the patterns. I got it, you won't be disappointed sir."

Before he got a chance to leave the huddle, Ben had mentioned something about roaring which caused confusion to the eyes of Jarrod. His eyebrow arched. "Roar?.. Well I dunno if I be much of a rawwwwr person but I sure will give'er a try if I get a catch, yessireebob."

A nod of his head, before he moved himself to stand where he was asked to go. Making sure to leave the 'badguy's sideline alone. His feet resting in that prone position, arms leaking downward for a brief moment as the breath was released. Just have to put those feet to use?

Once the ball was snapped, Jarrod took off like a bullet out of a barrel of a gun. His feet attempting to scamper him straight pass the man that was trying to cover him. A struck of luck it must have been as the Cowboy's didn't even think they would go deep, but Jarrod continued to try and move with those swift feet. Hand raising up to see if he was open and to call for the ball.

  Duke wanted to light up the Cowboys with the new guy , fresh legs  and all that..but the Ball Hung  Just a bit too long,  and the CB Jumped as High as he Could, got a finger on the ball and  sent it wobbling out of bounds... The Crowd's breath Caught...and  Groans  washed over the filed as  a Big play had  just be averted....

 2nd and 10 on the Dragon 12..

 Jarrod  would see bronk and Ben Hustling back, even as the O-line lined up and Miles was bent over, both elbows on his knees waiting to grab the football.

  Once they were lined up, Duke called quick slants  to thew WRs...BEn a Hook..backs Blocked..he got that BAll off and Into Jarrod's hands  for a Pick up of 7

  Bronk Listened to the call..the CBs Rolled Up up close to take away a quick pass, He looked over at Morris who was sneaking up to Blitz...that left the Free Saftey..all..by..himself deep...

  The Dragon Fans...most being smart...others taking the Cue from the scorboard as it asked for Quiet...gave  an Odd feeling  to the field as Dukes  Signals echoed easyily...Adam Shouted....For Ben..and Hopefully relayed to Jarrod.....AIRRAID....AIRRAID!


  Duke Looked over  at Adam without even Looking at the Coverage and Nodded as he said,..CHECK...CHECK...AIR RAID...AIR RAID! it was what they had saw in the films..Air Raid..being the call to beat it..hopefully...

 The snap CAme  and Adam Broke up Field  slashng the CB's hands Off his  pads and spinning up fiuled...His left HAnd went Up..the Free saftey saw three Green Jerseys breaking up field..even as Morris was heading Full sepeed into the backfield....

Lucas not thinking that it'd be passed off to him made sure to intercept anyone trying to get at Duke or the new guy.  He made sure to clear a running path for anyone wishing to rush past him.

Jarrod taking in a few breaths as they hurried back to the formation, starting to realize how quick of an offense the dragons were just by being out there this time. Taking in a deep breath as he heard some kind of comment reign in from the formation before he gave a nod... Air-Raid.. He can do that couldn't he? Suuure!

Digging those cleats into the turf, his hands relaxing onto the ground before the hike! And he went for that straight line, with the defender next to him Jarrod thought of using a bit of power with the speed of his feet to try and get away. He had the feeling the opposition was going to shove him at the line of scrimmage, get physical and delay the chemistry of the throw.

Jarrod welcomed that, by trying to bring his shoulder into the man guarding him, using some strength and the leverage of a 'taller' man to swivel his way past him, and try and cause the CB stumble off-balance. A little glance back to try and track where the ball was sailing as he ran up-field.

  Bennie was up on the trainers  table..the hit he took early in the game had been wearig on him, HArry and  one of his interns  worked on the man's  Hamstring and Calf.

  Etic  Nelson, who was already On IR, walked the sidelines  with crutches  and a Dragon winbreaker on, his hat on backwards as he shouted for the Offesne.

  Mackins  shook his head, Stalls leaned back on the Bench lookign down the line At Sims..Givens kept spouting off,...bad enough i have to sit behind a couple of Midgets....now they bring in this Hayseed!...

  Worth and Payne both turned to him, from thier place by the Defense as, they went over  things on the greaseboard,..shut the hell up Givens..if you tried half as hard as them..you'd be in the damn hall of fame....Body type and speed don't  get you on the filed..Heart does...

 Givens shook his head  and looked down at the  turf by his feet...


  Steele..Couldn't  handle it he lifted up the Mike  and asked Sims point blank ..the kid's been in camp..what?...5 days? what the hell coach?

 Sims   Heard  Adam, the  Duke call the  AIRRAID..he nodded with a smile, but that smile  vanished as he turned to Steele,..I watch films. Mr. Steele...not the Highlights i get send..but game films  from  the schools and the teams play for...This kid has hands...and he's fast...it will come down  to learning the Offesne....we have a lead...best get him Reps now..don'tcha think?

 Steele shook his head,..you'er the coach......

Ben was ready for the snap and shot out of his 3-point stance, running the hook path as if his life depended on it, feet pounding...

Tali returned to the sideline, unaware that her kick was possibly making the top ten reels for the week, though grinning just the same.  She moved over to Fry, as she moved through a sea of helmet and butt slaps from the Dragons.  She pulled her helmet off, and glanced at Fry.  She shyly smile and asked, "Like that yes coach?"  She smiled and turned her attention toward the game playing out before them.

    Duke Looked to JArrod, He  was fighting through the DB, Adam Had  Broke free, But Bed found a Clear seam up the left side. Duke snaped the PAss off, Just as he  took a Hit in the Ribs... Ben Hauled the ball in   picking up 15 more yards after the CAtch, before Both Safeties rode hime down.

  Pick up of 44 yards. 1st and 10 at the Cowboy 37...4:39 left in the half.

  Duke  got off the Ground , the DE that  hit  him said  somthing to Him, But Duke  just grinned as he  sprinted down field to Line Up...It was somethign to see...more then once the  announcers showed  Replays of the dragons  running up to the Line, getting in stances..Duke  calling plays ..AS..he was running up field.

  The DE and DT, Just barley got on thier  side of the Line as the ball was snapped, Lucas took the Ball Burst through the Haggered DL , that was hammered By the  Dragon O-line...he slipped past the LBs..Only two safties   were there to try and stop him...

 Sims  watched the  dragons Move, As the Offesne  sprinted up field, he moved as well taking into the Head set with the coaches up stairs....KLewis Broke off from Sims to gather the defesne...whether they scored or Not..looked like the D was going to have  one more series this half.


  Beth was  Jumping   around< craning her neck trying to see how  Adam was doing,she turned to Cel,..why the heck does he always line  up on thier sideline!

Giving a menacing laugh, Lucas pivoted to the right faking it and spinning to turn and bolt off to the right.  The ball was clutched firmly in his hand as he kept the two safeties in the corner of his sight.

  Duke Hit Adam at the Line...as the DB..took a step off..hoping to bait Duke into that Very throw....Adam stepped towards the ball and grabbed it, Evan as the CB hit Him, He ducked  and Pivoted, throwing the off Balence CB off his shoulder, and turned up filed, Just in time to be nailed  by Morris after a 6 yard  gain... Morris  Slammed Bronk's  legs to the ground as he got up....Adam Grinned as he tossed the ball to the Ref...

 Once more  Duke  faked to Adam...and turned to Ben...However..in his Mind he wanted to hit the New Guy on a slant, or Lucas in the flat...

Slant route should be one of his specialties but maybe it was nerves that had the country-man taking a breath as he formed up onto the line once again. This time instead of staring straight at the defender just inches away, he was looking down towards his feet and giving that a mutter.

"Feet, don't fail me now."

Hands would move downward and then when the ball started to get hiked, he moved in a hurried pace, attempting to curl at full speed at the start, straight ahead. The point of it, was to get the defender off balance as Jarrod ran straight at hopefully, the backing up man. Shoulders would begin to head outward of the field, before his sudden change of direction had him running towards the center of the field.

The sharp cut angle, and the fake to the outfield hoping to by himself some separation as he drove to the center at that diagonal crossing with hands ready to catch the ball if it came to him.

Ben ran interference with a will, trying to draw off defenders to let Jarrod have a clear run.

Lucas shot forward and pushed passed the defensive line like a hot knife through butter.  He edged through possibly even putting one of the defensive men to the ground passing him by.

He took a quick peek to see where the ball was or has went and seeing that it hasn't gone any where, he looked to Duke and nodded for the all clear.

  Duke was about to let the ball fly to JArrod, when he saw the LB shift a little to the Inside, Leavign Lucas, all alone in the flat! He fired the Ball to  the Fullback, Who caught the ball at the 11, and cruised in , untouched for the Touchdown.

  The  Scoreboard  read..Dragons 43 Cowboys 7..pending Tali's point after....The crowd was beyond excited..they were crazed...no one saw thgis coming..the Preseason..was..well..preseason...but a regular season game, against a team that was  supposed to be earmarked for  thier Division's title...they were getting waxed!

  If Sims was surprised, none  could tell. Now  and they, throughout the game, something would happen to make a quirk of a smile, grow on his face. He was always grabbign a player  and coaching them up, talking to another coach, and sending them down to talk to other players...to Sims..the game wasn't over, until there were only zeros on the clock.  Adam Pointed at Lucas as he ran off the Field..he slowed up to walk with JArrod and said,...nice patterns...you'er getting your head around quick too!....gonna be a fun season!

  Fans in the  Endzone  shouted Lucas's name. In one  corner of the endzone, there were a group of girls and a few guys dressed nup like..er..dragons...a sign in front of them said...Lucas's Lizards  they were  hollaering the loudest.

  Tali and her  team came on for the pat

Jarrod's hand would come up in the air and drop down in a fist-pump as he saw Lucas get the touchdown. It was clear to see on the Country boy's face that he was just excited to be out there on the field, especially when he came in late for training camp and just gotten picked up on waivers.

Letting Lucas have his moment in the endzone, the somewhat tuckered tall man began to walk his way off the field, being accompanied by Adam who was giving some praise to the youngin. "Well thank yah kindly, though I still need a little work done. Not use to the speed of the big leagues yet. Like running with bulls.

Jarrod knew he had plenty of work to be done, which is why no one should be surprised when he started to make his way over to get a glance at some plays in the early going while the extra point was being ready to be kicked, already trying to get his head around what else could be called out there.

Tali wasn't sure she'd ever kicked for so many extra points in one game.  She pulled her helmet on and snapped the chin strap on as she trotted out with her team.  She watched them line up, and looked across at the Cowboys.  She smirked at the sight she beheld.  Weariness.  The opposing team had all but given up, and they weren't even through the second quarter yet.  Hell, they weren't even at the two minute warning.  She cleared her thoughts, and took several steps back.  She watched for the snap.  As it was made she ran up and was already kicking as the ball was set at almost the same moment.

Tali's kick was solid and went through the uprights.  She didn't watch it, as she prepared to maneuver away from any over-zealous Cowboys; though they never came.  It almost looked like they weren't even trying anymore, which suited Tali just fine.  She received the pats on her helmet with a wide grin, and trotted back to the sidelines with her team.  She nodded at Coach Fry and stepped in close to murmur, "Same as last time yes?"

When Tali received the nod, she grabbed her tee and headed out with the kicking team.  She scrunched the ball the official gave her and set it on the tee.  She backed up several steps, and looked along the line to her right, and then to the line along her left.  Her players were ready, and she looked down field.  She raised her arm, and dropped it as she began running.  She planted her right foot, and swung her left in the methodical manner of hundreds of similar kicks.

Again, as soon as she felt her foot connect, she was sure of her ball.  This time, the ball arced high up in an end over end spin.  Again, it was a solid line trajectory to the far right corner, and though it did not sail as far into the stands as its sister during the previous kick, it did clear the fan wall and fall amongst the first rows.  Tali grinned and casually collected her tee.  She looked over at the Cowboys' line and was very tempted to bow, but feared an unsportsmanlike penalty, and didn't want to incur the wrath of Sims.  She instead offered a dazzling smile, ignoring the screamed taunts and bitching from the other team; turned and trotted back to her sideline like kicking into the stands not once, but twice, was to be an expected sight from her.

As Tali moved through the line, she received a great deal of butt and helmet slaps, and she smiled very wide indeed.  She pulled her helmet off, and stood next to Fry; who was looking at her with just a hint of awe.  She grinned and turned her attention to the Defense, and shrugged her shoulder shyly.  She said, "You say do same thing.  Sorry it not go as far this time" and grinned wildly.

  Dragons  44  Cowboys 7, 2:39 2nd Quarter....crawl went across screen all over  America...now and then  the  folks at the studio would break  in and say,we have another  Update from New Jacksonville.....

  People were changing channels...watching RedZone, just to catch highlights as they happened. The outcome of the game did not seem in doubt anymore...but  people were watching. looking up records...wondering  how the heck do you do this in the NFL.

  One  anoouncer put it this way,..when i played in the USFL..Jim Kelly and the Houston Gamblers  had the Run-and-shoot offesne..they put up big numbers..but thier defesne  struggled at times....The  dragons are not only trying to score points, they are trying to STOP points...and both sides of the ball is lean and Mean...you want to Ground and pound with these guys, they will just laugh at you..because they have made the clock, a weapon.

 Cowlings  and his Offense came onto the field. They Huddled, Looking at the Clock, then at thier own sidelines. Morris was shouting for his offesne to do something with  the damn Ball...Adam..took this as a chance to sow the seeds of discord..HEY MORRIS!...MAYBE YOUR GUYS  SHOULD TRY TO STOP US A COUPLE TIMES?

 Some of the Cowboys Offesne nodded, Morris flipped off  Bronk ( that might cost him a fine)...Adam just grinned.

Lucas did a playful spike of the ball in the end zone.  When he turned around and looked on the side lines, he spotted the sign of Lucas's Lizards.  He pointed to them and winked.

Not being boastful, he slowly jogged to the sidelines and took something to drink

Didn't mean to take the spotline from you, good job getting open, he said.  Next time is yours, I'll guarantee it if I have to chase after you myself.

He patted Jarrod on the shoulder pads and took a seat on the bench.

Celeste, Lu-Ti, and even took a break and this let the girls go sign autographs, stretch, relax or just commence among themselves.  Celeste turned to Lu-Ti and motioned where Ben was.  She nudged her friend to head over and show some spirit, Dragonnette style.

Celeste winked when she noticed Adam looking her way, but she wanted to locate Eve and see if there was anything that she wanted to comment on or do while they were taking a small break before halftime.

Lu-Ti quietly moved over to where Ben was and tapped him on the shoulder.

Good game, she said.  Looks like a surprise win.

Breaths showed the lack of chances to be out there, and no matter how much one practiced. It was hard to imitate what you did out their on the field, so it was to no surprise that when hands went down to undo the chin-strap that Jarrod was taking in a few sucks of breath just so he could feel the game-shape performance he needed to be in.

Clutching the helmet in his hand, he just turned to Lucas and offer him a simple smile. A proud stance on his facial features. "We got a touchdown I hear, thats all that mattas to me. Even in the farm-land, its a team sport I reckon, besides.. I got ya open a little bit. Doing my part."

Setting the helmet onto the bench, he raised his hand to move to grab at a cup and sip at the drink that was contained inside it.

  Adam was  walking  down the benches to find the powerade chick. He was laughing at Morris and the Cowboys  turning on each other.

  Givens  Looked at him as he walked past and snapped,..hey Bronk..don't you ever get tired of hearing yourself talk!

  Bronk shrugged,...do you ever get tired of sucking?

 Givens  just sat back and shook his head, looking up at the clock.

  Miles Smiled as he stood  up from teh ebnch, Gave Bronk a whack on the BAck as he walked by.whatever it takes ..to get them to fall apart...

  Fry Looked At Tali...a proud look on his face,....you know..this is going to change your life..First  Woman to score in a regular season game...first to kick a FG....looks like , the first to play  on a winning team in a regular game, God  only know's how much points were gonna pout up..Sims likes to score...and he flat out, doesn't  care  how other players and coaches feel!

Ben Dragon Stomp'd as Lucas got his TD, then scampered off the field to watch Tali do her thing, first the PAT and then the kick-off. He cheered her each kick.

When Lu-Ti came over, he pulled off his helmet and bent to kiss her.

"It's going well so far, beloved... you keep cheering, I'll keep running," he whispered to her, "Running straight into your arms!"

Lucas eventually made his way to the side lines to grab some drink, a seat, and to watch the defense take the field.  He'd managed to swing by the Lucas' Lizards group and signed a few things even taking a group picture for the media.

Lucas looked around and looked to Adam.  Think the next game will be like this? he asked a touch of worry on his face.  Or think that we'll have our asses handed to us in the next half?

  They Took thier  time on This, they hanned off to the HB  up the right side, he picked up 8 yards with the Defense dropping into pass coverage.  Clocks  stopped for the 2 minute  warning with 1:53 left.

  Cowlings   dropped back looked to his  right  then dropped the ball off to a screen to the Backup Halfback, He  Slipped past Dalton and took off Up the Sidelines  Before Cruz hit him, dragging him down before he could get out of bounds...clock running at 1:44..

   Cowlings   gave a quick pitch to the BAck, after  they  hussled up to the line, the BAck picked up 6..Dallas Coach called TO.

 Looking over the Defense The Cowboys  came off the BAll, Cowlings hitting his TE in the Middle for a 7 yard gain..clock running...2nd  and 3 at Dragon 43..

  The next pass hit Nickels who ran out of bounds as soon as he caught it...

  1st and 10 at the dragon 38 :57 left..Cowboys , 1 TO.

Lewis  Called into  Worth who Nodded and began shouting  signals, Tha Payne  picked up and shouted to the  D-line....

  The Ball was  Snapped, the two Corners  and Worth dropped straight BAck..well Best and everybody else  came at Cowlings...the Ball hit the  Ground well, behind  the other WR...2nd  10 Dragon38...51 second

Having a couple of players pass him, this next play he was bound and determined to not let this next one slip through the scrimmage line if he had anything to do with it.

This time carefully watching the QB and the player's he'd been favoring the past few plays and focusing on them.  When the ball was snaped from the center to the QB...he flew through the line and headed straight for the ball.

  Rcikey headed towards the Line, then dropped into coverage, as the TE moved to the "open space" in the coverage...Dalton Jumped  up catching the ball with his Body and came crashing down with the TE on top him!

  Worth and Best came over  and whacked  Dalton on the Helmet,  The Cowboys were walking off the field with thier ehads  down, Cowlings Threw his helmet into the Gatorade containers..The Coach tore off his  headset and slammed it on the  table by the phones....some of the Cowboys were gathering near thier end of the  Playters' Box, waiting to head to the lcoker rooms.

  However...Sims sent  Duke out to the Huddle,...Coach says..we have 3 Timeouts and :36 seconds.....we're supposed to show the people watching this game..we know how to use them...

   Duke  smiled  at Jarrod,..We'er gonna let them tell us where to throw the ball...we have three timeouts..so?..If you rgab the ball by the sidelines, step out..if you get it in the middle...Hit the turf so we can call a Timeout..See if  we can get our Kicker to...talley..some more points..

  Miles groaned at the  pun on Tali's name, but the Huddle broke, the dragons Lined up

 The Cowboys  dropped alot of folks deep, Leaving  a three man Line, and the Middle Linebacker up close.

 Duke  took the Snap and Fire  off the Line to Adam, he caught the ball and ran Out of bounds for a * yard pick up...

  Duke took the Ball again Quick snap throw to JArrod, who was slanting In...Jarrod went  down and Duke called a TO...

 1st and 10 Dragon 40...2 TOs..:24 left.

  Here..duke  took a chance, Faking another Out Route to Adam, Bronk did a double Move and was Going  down filed..Jarrod, was Sent on a Fly..Ben, a deep Curl..both backs were to block...

((OK..Adam rolled decent..Mik rolled good for blocking...Ben and Jarrod  Roll (need to beat a 77 for the ball..however...Lucas has to roll to pick up the block..depending on Lucas's block..we'll see who gets the ball...))

  The Cowboys  syopped, Most stood near thier end of the players box, Helmets in hand, watching the Dragons...with 24 seconds on the clock and 2 TOs...they where thinking, Fieldgoal...

  The Caoch  kept Looking acorss the filed at Sims, almost daring him  to look over..But..Sims didn't give a damn about the Cowboys, he was talking in his ehad Set to Duke, and Moving down field with his team...to watch Sims, youo would not know  he had a 44-7 lead with only :24 seconds on the clock..

...Fans  were shifting  between screaming like Crazy...to shutting up as they saw Duke call his plays

  The Camara flipped between the owners Boxes..The Cowboys owner  was snappign at the people around him, some of the people had thier backs turned to the filed as they went to the Buffet to get some eats... The Amotas were standing by the windows..the windows  were open, and  they looked like any other fan...Mr. Amota, wore a suit, But Yuto had a Dragon Tee-shirt and hat on... he was hollaring out the window...

He let her go and put his helmet back on, and was ready when it was time for the O to take the field once more. He trotted out to the huddle and listened intently before taking his place ready for the snap.

  with :24 on the clock, Duke  went to Go Deep, He first Looked at Jarrod, the DB had hit him at the LInhe, as they Untangled, he stumbled a bit, Duke's eyes  moved to Ben, Who looked like he might have a Step on the Nickle Back covering him..But he saw Adam streaking down the elft sideline, His Left Arm in the air...

  The Crowd stood  Up as Duke set to pass..The MLB came  crashing through the Line, Lucas  stepped up, ready to stick his helmet in the man's chestplate..Byt the MLB spun off the Block, and Hit  Duke, just as he let the ball Go...the Ball fluttered out of Bounds...

 Adaam stopped. Jumping in the air a feel times, then raan back to the Huddle..the Crowd Groaned at the Missed score...2nd and 10 Ball on Dragon 40..clocked  stopoed with :18 on the clock.

   Duke  moved his arm a bit...feeling his shoudler  with his left  hand,well...18 seconds and  2 Timeouts....Look...Adam and Jarrod...take flies down the sidelines  again...Ben,   Just run a seam up the Middle  stop at thier 40..Mik and Lucas?  Take the flats, turn up field..Now?...Bronk? Jarrod..if you get the ball go as far as you can...as  fast as you can..step out, to save  the time outs..Ben?..if you get it..gho down and  I'll call a time out...Mik and Lucas?  if you get it, Go up the sideliens  and step out when it looks like you are through....Lets make this happen...

Lucas shrugged and shook his head as the defensive man pushed passed him and got to Duke.

I got your back this time, he said apologetically..  He patted the other man on the shoulder pad.  Let's make this happen guys!

Ben nodded and dropped into his 3-point stance, waiting for the snap then streaking up the seam route as if dragons were chasing him rather than he being the Dragon!

  ....Lucas hit the flat, the LOLB waited to undercut a thrtow, Had Duke tried to hit him.

  ...Mik, Got Leveled  By the ROLB as he  tried to turnup field in the other  Flat...

  Duke rolled to his left a Bit, Ready to Let the Ball go deep to Jarrod, But the Db  was pretty close to him, and the Free safety was hover over top...

   His eyes  was shifting to Bronk, who was starting to break away from his DB, Until He saw Ben stick his right hand Up as he broke Up Field...

  Morris  had been heading over towards  Bronk...the Free safety was  shifting over top of Jarrod... Ben had the Middle!...

 Duke  AThrew the  Ball in a High Arc, Ben Pulled it in, and  Cruised the LAst 15 yards for a Touchdown!

 One  would think this was the first ever Dragon Touchdown, the way the Crowd went  crazy!

  Adam Came Flying  Over   Jumpinmg in the air  Pounding Ben on the Pads...Duke Held up his right  hand and Pumped it, and said  something to the D-lineman who had given him a late hit a few plays before...The Score Now read...Dragons 51...Cowboys 7..and thier  were  still 9 seconds left on the clock!

 ..TALI!...Get your people out there! Sims  said, He tried to surpress a grin, was  losing baddly!

..Bronk was  Bouncing in the air..shouting,..HALFWAY THERE....HALFWAY THERE!

  The Cowboys  Kickblock team put thier helmets on there Heads, The Head Coach was  shouting at the players who came off the filed, his hand waving to the scoreboard....

  Ben's 60 yard Touchdown pass Flooded the  highlights on all the stations...all other games that were being broadcasted, were told the Dragons had  scored 50...soon to be 51..points in the first half!...

  Duke's Stats showed up under the score, when the   Fantasy Football numbers popped up..20 out of 36..554 yards and 5 touchdowns.

  Ben's  stats showed he had 191 yards recieving and 3 TDs

  The Announcers at  NFL Central shook thier heads  as one of them said,..Sims said he would  score 100 points if he could...sure looks  like they have a shot!

Tali watched the last offensive drive, and was caught up in the excitement as much as the fans.  She clapped her hands excitedly as another touchdown was made, and then realized Sims was yelling at her to get out and make the point.  She nodded as she blushed, and pulled her helmet on as she ran out to the line.  She snapped her strap to her chin, and backed up.  She waited for the snap.  As she ran up, she planted her her right foot poorly, and rolled the ankle causing her to duff the ball into the low crossbar.  She bounced a few times on her left foot, and gently rolled her right foot as she felt a small stab of pain shoot up the outside of her ankle.  She shook her foot left and right, slowly raised it up and down, and then trotted off the field.  She avoided Sims' eyes, ignored the fans who were brought down a slight notch by her failure, and she leaned over to grab her tee.

Tali trotted back out to the field to set up for the PK.  She stood there, speaking to herself in Arabic as she raised her right foot up off the field to idly roll it in a gentle circle.  She grit her teeth, backed up and looked left and right.  She was torn.  She wanted to just put it away.  The cowboys would probably just trot off after the ball dropped and they took a knee.  Her darker self wanted to drop it in the coffin corner on the very off chance that the defense might be able to force a fumble from the demoralized Cowboys right on their goal line.  Either way, 9 seconds; one play.  She sighed, raised her arm, dropped it and ran forward to boot the ball.  She decided to coffin corner it as she kicked.  The ball raised high up into the air, spun and hung for a long time, before it came barreling back down to Earth at the half yard mark on the right side of the field as she faced it.

Tali observed her PK had hung long enough for the Defense to get a serious run down the field, as she trotted to the right to watch for a breakout should it occur.

  The Crowd 'awwwwed'. when Tali's  kick  hit the pipe, but there was  very little , in the way of holding Back.

  They were screaming ...stomping...some ..even roaring...as she Kicked the Ball.

  The Return man waited for the ball..He  took a quick look at the  sideline..if it went out?..they would get the ball on the  40....if it didn't go out, he would have to cover  it... He took the chance   and Fielded the ball ,about 2  feet near the sidelines...hand he let it hit...he would have had a 50-50 chance of it  bouncing out form the penalty...but  the Coverage  team was charging down, and he couldn't  let a Live ball bounce around, if it didn't go out!.

  He was Hit at the 10...4 seconds left it the Half....

   Fry Nodded  and Gave Tali a Pat ont eh BAck, greeting all the coverage guys  as they came out.

  Cowlings  came out and  the Cowboys  huddled  around him as he kneeled on the ball..running out the clock.

  The FAns booooooed...shouted jibes  and sneered at the Cowboys   as the slunk off to the locker room..The dragons recieved  Cheers as they  came off the Field.

Another fist-pump from the man as he noticed that Ben had gotten the touchdown. The Rookie beginning to move and head off to the side-lines unable to feel a little down about his performance as of right now. 2 catches for 15 yards was pretty good for a rookie who just got into the game in the closing minutes of the quarter, but he still felt like he could have done more.

Head would give a shake, letting those thoughts rummage into the deepening thrall of the mind for later, when he was alone and he could polish up on a playbook to try and get him accordingly timed with the quarterback. Besides, whats the point of being down when they were winning by this much?

Unsnapping the chin-strap, and pulling off the helmet once more, taking in a breath and watching the extra point hit the metal firmly before bouncing away, he gave a grimace. Something had to be wrong, because even Jarrod knew she normally didn't miss those kind of shots.

It wasn't until she came back after the kick down-field was over from the special teams, that Jarrod would just speak somewhat of reassurance. "Don'tcha worreh too much about d'at. We all miss one now a'again."

And with that! It was half-time, and Jarrod began to make his strides for the tunnel.

 This showed up on the Big  Screens! As well as all across the country

 Sims  was nabbed  by the  Nimia Jones , the sidel;ine Reporter for NFL  Central,Coach Sims?...with a lead like this...do you plan to use more backups  in the second half?...The Dallas  Caoch said he hoped you would show Sportsmanship and......

  She never  got to finish her statement..Sims  stopped  running, wheeled  and Got in her face, then turned his face to the CamaraSPORTSMANSHIP????...what the hell is he talkign about? I..have never been so embarrassed, as i am by the play of the Cowboys  thus far....All we heard...all summer long..every Preseason game..and  all week heading into this one...how we couldn't play our style ball in the NFL...how we didn't have the players...how I didn't have the backround....

 He looked into the  camara...a cold dark smile on his face..I don't have  'backups.'  I have Dragons..every single one of them are expected to step up..at a moments notice...they are supposed to be ready to play...know thier assignments..and have  the heart and guts to get the job done!...So? We scored 50 points on the poor  Cowboys?...I supposed to feel bad for them, and  take the foot of the pedal???... No damn way Miss Jones....These guys are getting paid  Millions of dollars...the only way..ANY..of my players  will reach that kind of  money, is by earning it!....So....As  Bronk said....  he pointed to the scoreboard..we're  halfway there....you don't want 100 points hung on you? Try and stop us..we play  all 60 minutes  on the Dragons!

 He nodded to her and ran towards the  tunnel...Nimia smiled  and said,..there you have it  folks...the Dragons are  getting  ready to feed again!

  The Coaches got  everyone into the Press area of the Locker room, so Tali and the  Dragonettes Could be there  as  Sims gave his Halftime talk...

 They Noticed , that there were screens up at the one Branch of the tunnel, they could see some  people most of the Japanese, but some Americans as well...they had smocks on, and had paintbrushes...there were armed guards there to  keep people out of that section of the tunnels.

  Sims  came into the Locker Room...he  walked over  and  stood  on a step stool so everyone  can see him,..Alright..I will make this short so everyone can take  care of thier needs,  get retaaped...and all that....  he looked a bit angry, but everyone knew , his anger was not focaused on them,..I was just asked....if we would show...'sportsmanship'...by playing backups, and running clock in the second Half.....Who all here knows what real sportsmaanship is?

 He looked around the room, players looked at each other, The  Sims  Pointed at Bronk,...You played  for me before...Tell them..tell them all....


 Adam cleared his throat and said Loud enough for everyone to hear,..True sportsmanship is...giving everything you have...everyplay....every second...of  everygame...to give any less...is to cheapen yourself...and the Sport  we play....


 Sims  Nodded,..That's  right....that's right....We getv payed...to play this game..this isn't highschool..where teams  can be so offbalenced, just by the  town you libve in, doesn't have the same number of kids  as another....this isn't  College...where you can recruit Blue chippers, while a smaller ..pooer school cannot do that...This  is  Pro Football...there is a draft...there is freeagency..and there is a  cap..to try to even out  teams...try to have teams get Big time players....

 ....We did it a bit differant...we got big time players...without  using big time money...everyone here..can cash in at the end of the season...the only thing is...you will earn every damn dollar you get...and  that dollar depends on you working hard, and your  teammates working hard...So..when we got out there? We're gonna play like we never scored a damn point  in this game....and..if the Cowboys don't like it?...They can walk off the field..Us?....We're gonna make our Fans...our owner...and ourselves...Pround...Now..take care of what you need..we hit the  filed in 10 more minutes...

Ben couldn't quite believe it, the TD seemed almost dream-like. He returned to the sidelines, accepting plaudits from his team-mates.

"Thanks, Duke - great pass!"

He stood by the cheer team, who were in full voice, and watched his beloved Lu-Ti strutting her stuff.

Then it was time to return to the locker room for half time. He listened with his usual intentness to Coach Sims, and to Adam.

"Here there be Dragons!" he called. He liked this philosophy, always had. It had never seemed right, at High School or with the Sooners, when coaches wanted to ease back before the final whistle. The clock ran, you played 'ball.

Tali listened to Sims storm and an odd sort of pep talk.  As she did so, she removed her right shoe and examined her ankle.  It appeared no worse for wear, and wasn't swollen.  Still after he gave them ten minutes she sought out a trainer to get it taped, before she re-tied her shoe.  While she was getting attended to, she asked about the condition of Max.

  Harry was called over  and he looked at Tali's  foot. He shook his ehad  and he said,..thjis is why Kickers should not be afraid of a little tape on your foot.....Now? he holds up a roll of elsaticized tape...this is strong, Light, and thin....

   he tells her to stand up and Put  weight on the foot to reflect the way her foot would bend when she plants it. He takes a marker out  and draws  a few lines on her Foot.

  With ease and speed, his  hands move as the  tape is wrapped  to over lap at some points. He pushes her toes back a bit as he watches the taape then Nods,..it may be sore to morrow, but there doesn't seem to be  any real damage...the tape will act as  extra ligaments and ssupport your foot...after a few warmups?...You won' won't even know its on...

 ..Come see  me if  it bothers you during the second half...I can give you some Ibphrophen for the pain if you want?..Max?..His season's over..Leg was broken in 2 places...he could be back if we made the Playoffs?..But Sims  won't hold a roster spot that long for a kicker...

Jarrod's time at half was very solemn at best, taking into sitting down with his head down and listening to the words of the coach. His helmet was laid to the side of him, and didn't look to move, but just listen.

When the conversation was over, Jarrod just kept in that post for the duration of the ten minutes, thinking to himself. Going over the plays in his head to see what he did wrong, and how he could better then, if he could better them.

  The teams  came out for the 2nd half, the Captains  met briefly. Noss was  back in the GAme now for The Cowboys. His  'hamstring' seemed better, and Now he and Morris were the  safeties.

   Fry  talked to the coverage team and grabbed  Tali by the elbow,..try to keep that ball in the endzone, I don't want anyone having  an excuse to giove you a shot....

  The teams Lined up, waiting for Tali to set up the ball....

  In the Dragon's Owner Box, The Commissoner talked with The Amota's..Commissioner Davis seemed surprised, and...perhaps..not in a good way...so? According to that interview  with Miss Jones, Your Dragons are coing out swinging? We he hold true to his vow about scoring?

 Me  Anota  Bowed his head slightly as he said,..Mr  Davis...We are here to build thge best team the league has ever seen...the fans of this region would like to see us  win..and see us score....Should  Caoch Sims wissh to..how you say...'ease off'..that is his option as the Head Coach..should he try to score  another 50 points?..I will be more then happy to see the  scoreboard blow out its circuits!...

  As the Commissoner nodded and shrugged, Yuto added,..no chance of that happening, the Scoreboards  were built by Amota Electronics....One thing. Mr  Davis. You will see the same type of fight from our players, if the score would be turned around....

 Mr Amota Nodded, ..Just so..Just So...we try to find..Samurai....who will not balk at battle...we have some few...who might not fit the mold right now...but they will not be back next season....

 Commissioner Davis Nodded,...we shall see how this turns out...you could  set a new trend in the NFL, Mr Amota.

  The  Teams waited for the  TV timeout to be over so  Tali could Kick..on the scoreboards  an Old Video played....

  The camaras swept the  Dragon's  sidelines as Most of them watched...Adam was mouthing the  words as a slight smile came to his face.

Tali came back out with a few minutes to go before the second half was going to start.  She jogged up and down the sideline, working her ankle and discovering Harry wasn't too far off about not noticing the tape after some flexing happened.  She grabbed her tee, and waited to be signaled onto the field.  She trotted out with the team, took the ball with a nod from the grinning official and snapped her chin strap down.  Tali scrunched the ball against her chest a few times, and set it on the tee.  She backed up, looked left and right at the defense, raised her arm and dropped it.  She ran forward and booted the ball down field.  It spun end over end and dropped toward the back of the end zone for the returner to decide what he wanted to do with it.

 The  BAll Bounced its  way towards the Endzone, the up men letting in go through to the Back rows, Finally the Up Back picked the ball up at the Dallas 15...he began to run up Field and was Upended by  Santos at the Dallas 27.

  Cowlings  came out out the Huddle Looking over the Defense...you didn't have to be a Pro coach to see the differance in the Teams..The Dragons were Lining up, Linebackers and  DBs moving around as Payne and Worth called out shifts...

 The Cowboys  walked up tot he Line and settled in...The O-line  didn't seem as aggressive as they did in the 1st quarter...Perhaps  ..they were already beaten?

 The ball was snapped, Cowlings dropped back  and Let the Ball Go Doiwnfiled to Nickels...Santos was beat..yet again..But the Ball was well over thrown..

 2nd  and 10 Dallas  27...The ball came  Back,. he faked into the LIne, Kane and the others  shot into the Line to stop the run..that wasn't there..Cowlings Popped up and fired the ball to Kiel, the TE who picked up 6 yards...

 3rd and 4 at the Cowboy 31... Cowlings fakes the ball to  The HB and Pivoted to Bootleg to his Left...If he got past Dalton..there Could be a big play!

With the defense out there on the field, Jarrod decided to try and do something productive with his time on the sidelines until he got called for his next number out there on the field to take the time to talk to Nevers who was the coach for the Wide Recievers and the Tight Ends(At least on Roster it is, so apologies if its wrong and I screw up this part.) Jarrod had a playbook in hand, and just going about asking him the coach a few questions that may help him in his next run, wanting to do better, and knowing he could do better.

"Hey Coach, d'ey be tryin' to bump me on d'ah line whenever they can like bees on honey. Not giving me a chance to move! Even tried bangin' with them like a bull but not gettin' much of anywhere on it. What am I doin' wrong?"

It didn't hurt to do a little cramming before a test right?.. This wasn't much different!

Ricky shuffled his feet and gained ground trying to catch and plow into the guy that would be getting the ball.  He was not about to let a big play happen on his dime.

  Nevers  tried to   Hit Bronk In the chest with Forarm Shivers, But  Adam would hanck away his arms with..'karatechop' like swings of his hands...Then Neversw  tried to ...re-direct him by hitting one shoulder or the other, Adam would bring a hand donw  on that arm and spin away....

 Finally..Never s tried to get into his Body with a shoudle, Adam stepped into him, but used the same...swimmove..that D-Line and LBs  use to get past Blocks...

  ..work on them for a few m oments  with Adam...its  the best we can do right now...

  Givens looked over the Bench at the  Big and small rookie and snorted in  disgust...then went back to watching the game.

  Rickey Looked like he had Cowlings, But the MAn stopped and Fired the ball downfield as  Dalton hit him... Nickels pulled the Ball  in, and was brought  down by Best at the dragon 31....

 1st and 10 Dragon 31...12:47 left 3rd quarter.

  Dallas  took the BAll up the Middle, for a gain of  3...

 2nd and 7 Dragon 28...

  Once mOre   the QB went back to pass and Hit the TE for 8...

1st and 10 Dragon 20...

  The HB took a pitch right  and  was Hammered  down By Wheeler and Best  for a gain of 1.

 2nd  and 9, Dragon19...

  Cowlings  fired a pass to the HB on DAlton's side of the field..it was another One  on One in the flats!...

  During the TV Timeout, Sims  gathered the whole team together...he pointed across the field...the Cowboys were slapping  hands and Grinning, holding up drinks   and shouting  amoung themselves.

 ..LOOK!...LOOK!...  his face held barely controlled Anger. Lewis had a meltdown already and was picking up the sheets from his broken clipboard...The Cowboys' Power Rating...if you give a damn about that stuff....is 3...they are supposed to be the 3rd best team in the whole damn league...yet..look at them!..they scored thier second touchdown, against an expansion team..and are STILL..36 points behind!...You...all of you..I watched this game...you are excited, because you are playing well...you are making our Fans...our familes..and ..yes..the coaches..proud....Don't cheapen this, by letting these losers back into the game...I want to see ..EFFORT!...i want to see..RESULTS....If you play the game, they way you played the first half!..they will look like thelosers they really are...Now...Dammit!..show me the Dragons I came in here with!

    The  Kick Return team went Out, Sims  called to  Mik,..let Bronk have another chance...  Mik nodded and grinned to Adam, who scampered out on the filed like a little kid on christmas Morning....The Kicck Hung in the air, Bronk brought it in 4 yards deep in the endzone, and took off...this time, Klay knew better, and went up field Looking for a white  shirt to hit.

    Thought the return was  set to go Left, Adam saw Wheeler take out One man, and  Salcido wall off another, And he sshot for that hole... Bursting through that small hole, brought the crowd to Its Feet..though they groaned when a Back Up DB manged to  Jump on Adam's back and drive him to the turf...

  1st and 10..Dragon 44...11:05 left in the 3rd Quarter.

Ricky took off his helmet in disgust not at the team or Sim's declaring war on the Cowboys and that last play, but more at himself for missing that guy.  If there were a punching bag around, he'd punched the living 9 hells out of it.  Since there weren't, he sit and fume over the lack of effort in that last play.  He'd tap the 9 hells out of the metal in the bench he was sitting on with his fingers instead.

Celeste had gotten the girls up and going with halftime over.  She'd discussed a couple of things with Lu-Ti not long before Ben got the TD and distracted each other.  She'd looked around in the stands and noticed Alexia and a couple of the other girls who'd left with her.  She gave the trio a fairly respectable and friendly nod though it did cross her mind what was she really here for.  Celeste shook it off and went back to the girls and their next set of cheers.

She was going to have to work with Eve this next week on doing a new dance routine for the halftime period.  Thus far, they'd only done a couple of set of cheers.

Ben sat quietly watching the play on the field, just waiting until the O was called upon again...

At half time Eve sought out Celeste and Lu-Ti. Hessitantly suggesting that the Dragonetts should consider giving the Cowpads a bit of a drumming, just like the Drangons were of with the Cowboys. From what she'd seen of their abilities she was sure the Ladies could do this blindfolded... besides it just wouldn't do to let the guys have all the fun.

Finding Eve, she'd heard her comment and thought over it some.

So what type of drumming are you thinking of? she asked curiously.

We could always use the upgraded reflection technique, where we improve on their routines and repeat it thus showing how it should be done. Indespersed with established routines. It'll show how flexible the Dragonetts are and rub the cowgirls nose in it... she suggests

During the first half Eve formulated this plan and closley watching the last three routines the cowgirls executed. Nodding at the boss, she outlined her proposal to the Dragonetts explaining the routines which she tweeked to heighten the effect and demonstrating specifics where necessary.

  1st and 10 Dragon 44...11:04  left.

  Duke called plays  at the Line, just as before, The first play was  a Quick pitch to Mik going  left, Adam Hit the CB, While OT Higgins  hit the  OLB...Mik picked up 11 yards..Duke  Huustled Up to the Line, the Team moving like it was a 2 minute warning...the Cowboys were ready for this...but it doesn't mean they could keep up.

  1st and 10 Cowboy 45...10:43 and running.

  This time Duke Pitched  To Lucus, who was to follow the  OG, he picked up 4...

 2nd  and 6 at the Cowboys 41...10:21..and running

  Setting back up, the Cowboys  trying hard to keep up. Duke  Quicksnapped the ball and  Hit Jarrod on a quick slant...pick up of 8...

 1st and  10 Cowboy 33..9:54..and running..

 Duke was  Waiting, he saw it  the Same time Adam did  as the Little Wideout shouted,..AIR RAID...AIR RAID...

  Duke repeated the  words...the Backs  would stay in to Block while   Adam, Ben and Jarrod  all took off for the endzone..catching the Cowboys in an All out Blitz...

As the second half started the Dragonetts who were positioned opposite the Cowgirls. Eve noticed they started one of the routines she'd studied, quickly getting the Dragonetts to mirroring, matching the routine move for move, save the improvements that had been introduced.

..If the Cowboys picked up, that the Call was the Dragon's  Adjustment...rather then just a warning..they showed  no sign of it...

 Poor Jarrod, used his  'handfighting ' well, however..the Tall recviever and the DB got tangled up again and Both went  down in a  Pile...

  Ben and  Adam  Both Broke Up field, Ben had a slight lead on his Guy, Adam had about a yard. Noss Went ofr Ben, after Ben had  Just burned them, Duke Let the ball go, Taking another  shot  from  the LE, a step after he let the ball go.

 Adam Looked  Up, it wasn't until the Ball's nose  came down and the little WR was certain he was going to catch the ball, that a wide  grin came on his face. The BAll came down in his hands, and  the  sped into the Endzone..holding the BAll up for the fans to see as he ran across the back of the endzone.....

 He  turned  up field to run into   the  Dragons who came  down to greet him in the Endzone...The Dragons  Roared  again...the  "flying Dragon"  Made another Trip across the top of the  Stadium to the other Endzone...

 The Crowd was Mindless..the Nose  was as high as it ever had been...those who tailgated in the parking lot  could hear the Roars , from all three sites  sweeping over the Amota Atheltic PArk....

  The Score was now..56-14...

 ..Tali!..you know the drill! he waved as the PAT team took the field

 while the teams played, the Cowgirls did not seem to notice  what the Dragonettes were doing...a few of the Dragon fans  did  as some would point..then the other  would watch and Nod...more  Pointing  of fingers and more realization as they did this....

  Duke Got  Up from the Ground, he sneered at the End  who hit  him and  Jogged  do to greet and  walk back tot he sidelines  with Adam and the others.

  Sims Nodded at the Score and the  time on the clock 9:24 left in the 3rd Quarter

  Lewis looked at  Sims and said,..you'er  really going to do this...try to reach 100? Its going to make us  look bad...

  Sims  laughed a hateful laugh,..Look bad?.... I warned them all..the first press confernace we had...this is  a 'no pirosners' thing. We were laughed at for our  draft, laughed at for the Freeagents we  brought in...seconded guessed all through Preseason. even though we wiped up the filed with the teams  we played....no...when we hit the press conferance..I will make it clear...one more time..what we are about...

 Lewis went to say something, Sims  stopped him and jerked his  head to the crowd,..Listen to them...these folks  haven't had a moment like this since they first got a NFL team..after the first couple eyars?..they were laughed at..used as a punchline...well?...this year?..Lets see if JAcksonville can be...'the bad guys'...let us be the  team that is going to make your team pay, for playing them....Let thier coaches  worry about how many points we are going to score, rather then how many points  ...they...are going to score....

Ben capered in an exuberant Dragon Stomp.

He trotted off the field, smiling at Tali as she came on.

Lucas had rushed the end zone where Adam took the ball and ran with it.  He lifted Adam up for the stadium to see and let him down.

Nice job! he said.  I can see now how you got your name.

He jogged off the field with Adam.  He grabbed a drink and tossed it in the can and what caught his attention was some of the fans pointing at the Dragonettes.  He nudged Adam to look as well.

Now that...is different.

Having took a few moments to practice the routine with the girls, they then took it to another level.  They were slowly getting attention from the crowd.  She wanted more.  She demanded that same attention from the crowd Adam just got.

Come on girls, she said.  Let's show them what we've got.

Celeste was quite distracted with the new dancing routine they were doing.  One of the trainers took the ball and sat it by Cel's bag near them.

  Moving onto the feel with the rest of the team, Tali set up for the PAT, as Smokey marked the spot for the ball.

 When she gave the nod, the ball was  snapped, smokey put it down with a half a turn, her leg swung and foot met the ball sending it through the Uprights.

  she  Gleefully accepted the  Pats  and Nudges  from her teammates, and set about   kicking off the ball.

  She tried to  send the ball deep into the Endzone,perhaps the tape was too tight?..or her excitement too high...the ball Skipped across the  Ground, bounded over  the Upmen's heads. The  Second line men, a linebacker, jumped on the ball and  curled up around it...

  The  score was now 57 -14.  The people cheered louder for Tali's extra  Point then  Adam's touchdown..or ..at elast it seemed like it, after the soft mummers during the TV timeout.

  Maybe it was because Tali was a woman?, or perhaps, because she was THIER  woman.

  The  squib kick brought  folks up to thier  feet.

Ricky readied his stance and anticipated whatever it was that the cowboys were going to throw at them.  He blocked off his emotions and settled into his gear and the roar of the crows distantly to keep his focus.  If he couldn't sack the QB, he'd at least plow through some of his men..

 The Coach shouted a few suggestions  , on how  Bronk could have sexual relations with himself....THE NFL SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOU!...  Duke reached over  , grabbed Bronk by the V-neck and pulled him back into the huddle,

 look!..there  isn't a guy in this who stadium, that wants to see the  Cowboys  do good....JUst..play the game..rub thier facers in it that way...Got it?

Finishing off the new routine, she'd let the camera and the crowd determine how well they did.  She gave Eve kudos on coming up with the idea.

This is what I like, spontaneity, she said.  See what you can come up with for this week and we'll work it in or replace some of what we have.

She had looked into the crowd just as she saw Alexia and her two friends point at the bench and laugh.  She took a look in the direction they were pointing to get a good idea of what they were laughing about.

 from what Celeste  could see, they were looking at the  Huddled Offesne...Bronk and  Duke going  over the poloroids with the rest of the team..while Givens was looking , everywhere but at the pics....Steele, his hat on backwards  and headset out, at least had his head in the  Group as Duke and Bronk went over some adjustments.

23:37, Today: Jarrod Thompson rolled 87 using 1d100.

Ben went long at the snap, and seemed to be attracting a lot of Cowboy attention so he concentrated on drawing them off and making space for someone else.. looked like Jarrod was best placed...

Lucas attempted to budge and shimey and shake through the defensive line, but the LBs weren't going to have it.  Either they were just pegged on him, or finally getting a clue on how to play defensively, he wasn't able to slip past even with a few pushes along the way they had him stuck behind the scrimmage line. His only successful attempt, keeping them preoccupied for Duke to toss it to someone else.

...  Ben split the safeties, heading up field...both of  them Chased him,

...Bronk Hit away the DB's hands, This  time, the DB grabbed  Bronk's Jersey and Gave a tug, Adam's reaction was  swing his Right  Hnag Up Under the man's Chin, Both Playetrs  went down in a  rolling bundle...if the Refs saw anything?..they didn't let on.

  Mik was Hit By the LOLB and wascovered rather well.

...Jarrod  Burst Up field, as the DB tried to get his hands on his shoulders , the Big Man Burst right through him, if he would have extended His  hands, he would   have been called  for  Pushing off...instead..He  broke away with no top cover, since Ben drew both safeties out.

  The Ball arced Over the DB..Hooker didn't have a chance in hell, of getting a hand on the ball this time.  JArrod reached out as the BAll came over his shoulder and was off to the races ..Noss was Hit  by Ben , as soon as the catch was Made..the other Safety was slower, and had no angle on Jarrod...Adam and his DM were still on the Ground..All Hooker could do is  chase..and hope a flag...or a fall would save  him.

  In the end?...There was no  flag...and there was no fall..Jarrod  cruised into the endzone for a 85 yard  touchdown PAss...  Duke  shattered the 'yards passing, game' record..and tied the the TDpasses mark, for a game.

 Duke  Sprinted down field ( after  getting out from under...another..leat hit)..to congrates the Rookie.. Adam  Clawed his  way  from under the DB, pushing the fellow down for Good Measurte  as he  ran towards the Endzone  too...

 The dragons roared....the scoreboard  shot upo Dukes  Stats...28-39..691...6 TDP...no INTs!

  The Team Jumped up from the bench, if they didn't think Duke would go long from the 15...as the Rookie  sped up field, some of the team ran down the sidelines ( until they reached the end of the Player's box)

  The Dallas  Defensive Co-ordinator  Threw his head set and Clip board  at the Bench... The head Coach stood there  with his hands out as if asking someone for an explaination..

  Many of the Cowboys, just shook thier ehads  and  went to the Benches.

  The Players on the filed stood and watched the dragons..some  charging downfield to celebrate with the Rookie...others  Jumping   and running off the field with arms raised... Noss unsnapped his   Chinstrap as Bronk ran past....Hooker crouched at the  Cowboy 20, looking at the Ground as the MLB, Croff, came over  and  hit his helmet to get himn to folow the others off the field.

 For  Sims, his eyes  watched the replay, then shouted,..Tali!...You'er up!

Lucas was about to run up the field to congradulate Jarrod and Duke, instead he looked over his should back at Bronk swatting about the DB.  He jogged over and extended a hand to Adam.

Not our play this time, he said.  Maybe next.  The Rook deserves it.

He turned to look at the Cowboys who were slinking away or shaking their heads.  He whooped and hollared with the best of them.

Here there be Dragons!  he belted out loudly.

Ben extended a hand to Noss, helping him up, then turned towards the capering, roaring Jarrod.

"Magic, Jarrod, pure magic! Well done, Dragon!"

He trotted off the field to watch Tali's kick.

Tali watched the offense perform an outstanding pass and subsequent touchdown and smiled wildly.  She was already trotting toward the set-up as she heard the shout to do so.  She lined up as Smokey settled down for the PAT.  The ball was snapped, and though there was little grace to the kick, it managed to sail through the uprights for the extra point.  She received her helmet and butt slaps as she moved up to thank Smokey for the great holds so far today, before jogging off the field.

Tali grabbed her tee, and then moved out to set up for the place kick.  She set it down, checked the post tapes for any manner of breeze, and scrunched the ball a few times against her chest.  She backed up, checked her defensive lines, raised her arm, and dropped it as she ran forward and booted the ball down field.

  Tali's  Kick went through, making the score 64-14. The  Scores  from other  Games were at the Bottom of  Both Scoreboards, none of the games were out of control as this one.

  for  people watching in thestands  or at Home, or listening  on radios, the words "...and they don't appear to be letting up..." were repeated by announcers across the  Country.

 The Ball was Taken at the 6 yard line, to those watching the game, it appeared  Tali ( and the dragons) were changing up styles of Kickoffs, so the Cowboys   would even be off balence, on Speicala teams.

 The Cowboys  ended up on thier  26..1st and 10  with 7:12 left in the 3rd.

 1st down, The Cowboys ran the ball again, a few good blicks got the back  a hole, and he picked up 8 yards..

 2nd  and  2, Cowboy 34...Cowlings  took the Snap, took one step back, then  Followed his center up the field, thought the Dragons were caught  by surprise, thier stamina and  work ethic has paid off, the Hit  the QB for a 4 yard gain.

1st and 10 Cowboy 38..6:34 left.  Once more , the  Cowboys  seemed to be streeing, having the clock run, and Cowlings milked the clock, snapping the ball , somewhere inside of 5 seconds of the play clock.

 The BAck took the hand off  again, he should have  been Dumped  By Dalton for  a Loss, but the BAck reversed his  field, heading for the right side. He turned the corner and  picked up 9 yards on the run, he dove sideways to make certain he would stay in bounds. 2 and 1 Cowboy 47

  Worth was Grinning from back at the safety spot as he Yelled, That's right You Wusses!..run the clock....we have  a whole quarter to get that 100th point!

   Cowlings    Folowed the Center again, pickign up another 4 yards...1st and 10 Dragon 49 5:38 left.

 This Time  Cowlings  stepped back on the Fake  and Looked down field, The TE  Had split  Worth and Best, both had  come up on the Run....

Ricky noticed the change up in the offensive play of the cowboys and recalled in the playbook and listened to the defensive side, how they too were going to shake things up.  He changed up his footing, who he was watching and the randomness that the QB was using for his pick of players.

He'd modified in his mind how he was going to approach each and every play.  Just like solving a puzzle, one piece at at time.  This play he did the same, he focused, watched, and reposte to accustom to the Cowboys change of plays and throws or runs.

He wasn't going to let them get the best of him this time.

   Cowlings, Flipped the Ball to the  left , after  faking a Dive to the Fullback, to the right, the HB  took the Ball  and lowered his shoulder into Dalton, picking up 2 yards...

  Cowlings   Rolled to His right, Looking into the Endzone, But dumped it off to the FB, who picked up another 2...staying in bounds to keep the clock running.

 3rd and 6..Dragon 17.

 Once more   Cowlings  dropped Back, it worked before?..It should work again? The invited Dalton Up Field, and  threw a Looping pass to the WR  for a Screen...

Fprging ahead, he wasn't going to let this second half get him down.  He moved forward attempting to push past the offensive line to make it 3 sacks this game.  He'd reposte, swerve, and shimmy until dark if he had to.

...The ball cleared  Rickey's hand by a foot or So, The WR Gathered it in and Follwed the Blocks of the  HB and the  OT, Diving In from the 5 yard line. though he was hit in the  Air, the Ref's hands Went up...the Replay ( sorta ) showed the Ball breaking the plane.

  Payne went crazy he was in the Ref's  face, and motioning for Sims to throw the Flag, Sims watched the replay on the boards, and Listened to the TE's Coach , who was in the Booth, they said.." don't waste the  Replay..they won't  change it for us right now anyway..."

 The extra Point  made it 64-21..

 The Dragons set up for the return, Mik and  Klay back to return the  ball...Mik gathered it in at the 5 yard  line, bringing it back to the Dragon 30 there was 4:47 left in the Quarter.....

Ben was standing on the sideline, hoping to be called into action.

  The Team offense took the field,At first No one noticed...until Givens  came in...right away , the  more knowledgeable Fans noticed Adam Standing in the spot Where Duke normally stood...Mummers  and  halfcheers rippled through the  stands...Until Duke, waved his dragons Baseball cap at the Crowd and gave them a thumbs up...then he put both hands up to make  sure they knew he was ok.

 Relieved that Duke was ok , the Crowd  gave a Raor and standing Ovation, for the man that broke  a NFL record  in his first game as a NFL starter...

 The Guys in  the booth that operrated the scoreboard Quickly messed with the animation...it showed a large Group of Men in the Huddle ..and the  little , oversized-helmeted, Adam character coming out  into the Huddle..the  Little figure pointed forward and  the word BAllon said  'CHARGE"...and the  bigger characters   went forward in  a cloud of Dust..over the loud speakers  came the Bugle sound of a Calvery charge.

  Most teams, when the BAck up QB came in, the fans would settle back, some m ight even leave to beat the traffic...But not in New Jacksonville...they stood  again...with each sound of the Bugel, the Crowd responed with "CHARGE".

  During the TV time out  Adam stood at the edge of the Huddle lookign back at the CAoches, the LE for the Cowboys shouted over,..HEY, MILES! ABOUT TIME YOU SHOWED SOME CLASS WITH THE SCORE THE WAY IT IS!

 Miles shouted  back,..SON?...YOU DON"T KNOW WHAT YOU'ER IN FOR!

WHAT?...WHAT YOU SAYIN' BOY?

  Adam...his  eyebrows  down in determination,..HE MEANS.... And Adam pointed to the scorboard,...WE NEED 36 MORE POINTS!

 Up in the stands, when it was PLain , Adam was in a QB... Alexia and her two cronies stood up and 'golfclapped'..then  talked to a security Guard , who went to the Owners Box..shortly after, Yuto Came  out...He was wearing jeans and a Dragon's T-shirt, he talked to the three, and  looked a bit unsure, then Nodded , he said  something to the Guard, and began to walk down the steps, the  3 women following him.

Lu-Ti had noticed the girls (Alexia and crew) catch the attentions of the Security guard and then Yuto come out.  She cheered quietly watchinging the girls.

SHe looked over to Celeste who was busy making notes, suggestions and talking things over with Eve over other details for their next routine.

She returned her attentions to the girls to see what they would do.

Celeste was content for the moment about the routine they just did.  She motioned for Eve to come over and them to discuss options and modifications to the cheer.

Her attentions were not towards the field at the moment, though she knew by sound that Adam was there she gave a brief pleased smile.

She was too into work to notice Alexia and crew any  more.

Eve, what other suggestions do you have that we can do impromptu?

The three cowgirl routines we've already improved on, could also be enhanced to include motions replicating the strikes of a big cat, or dragon. This way if the cowgirls catch on to what's being done and match us they'll be in effect falling in line and enhancing our own cheers. Eve wasn't sure if this would pay off but it had some possibilities.

  Adam Held his  hand up to his Helmet, Sims  said something  into his Mike and Grinned. Celeste doesn’t know if it was the fact that she knew who was approaching or if it was the fact that she instinctively knew whose voice it was, it was like a bad nightmare at times.  Taking a deep breathe and looking at Eve, then a bit beyond to Lu-Ti with as patient of a smile and look to her face that she could muster up, she turned around and greeted Alexia and her friends.

Oh, but of course, she said slowly.  She nodded and extended her hand out politely to the other girls.  What can the Dragonettes do for you three today?

Tali frowned as she watched Bronk and the Cowpie for a few moments, and then snapped her chin strap on.  She dutifully ran out with the PAT, and lined up.  She waited for the snap, and as it was made, she ran forward and booted the ball through the uprights without any issue.  She watched the Cowboys as she retreated from the line toward the side.  She winked at Fry, grabbed her tee and returned to the field.  She set her tee up carefully, scrunched the ball the official handed to her and set it up carefully.

Tali took several steps back to the right of the ball, and checked her line.  She raised her arm, and ran forward as she dropped it.  She swung her left foot through the ball, and hopped with the kick.  The gods of football shone down upon her yet again as she felt the perfect alignment of muscles and her pendulum-like foot.  She was hoping that whomever her naysayers were, might now be second-guessing their complaints concerning a woman being amongst professionals.  This time she did have the audacity to not even watch the ball.  She casually leaned over and picked her tee up.  The ball, for the second time in this game, went deep into the first tier stands.  She jogged non-chalantly off the field toward Fry.

Ben disentangled himself from assorted Cowboys and trotted off the field.

  Cowlings  went up under center, at the Cowboy 20..The First Snap, Cowlings  HAnded off to the back again, to get the Clock running, He was brought down for a 2 yard gain.

 2nd  and 8, Cowlings, Faked the HAnd off  and Fired a PAss to teh TE, right behind Wheeler..Flags Flew as Kane took 2 estra  steps to Blast Cowlings BAck, 'ass-over-tincups'...  KAne Shouted to the Cowboys  sidelines HOW YA LIKE THATR?....HOW YA LIKE THAT...WE CAN HIT LATE TOO!

  Franklin Pitts came Running in for KAne, as the Big man jogged off the Field, Sims Talked to HIm, a HAnd firmly on Kanes shoulder as he looked into the man's eyes...Kane was nodding Quickly...then Nod again., Meanwhile  Lewis was shouting out at the Defesne to hold them.

 The Cowboys took the 15 yards  from the LIne...making it 1st and 10 on the DAllas 38..clock stopped at 2:02 in the third.

  One the First Down  The HB took a pitch around the Left in, Ricky was Blocked inside,  and Santos  was Blown off the field by the WR and the BAck had to be brought down by Worth at the Dallas  49..1st down..

  The Cowboys  snapped the Ball with a 1st and 10 at thier  49..Cowlings Dropped back after a fake  Pitch, the clock winding down in the 3rd, Nickels had broken free again and had his left arm up...

  The Dragon Turned Up Field Yelling FIRE!... FIRE! to let everyone know there was a turnover, In the end, The  TE brought Worth down on the 50 yardline.. The Gun sounded for the End of the Third  Quarter.

  As the Teams  changed  ends of the Field, The Dallas  Coach Called  a Time out  and walked out on the field to talk with the Officals, he waved his hands towards the Dragon Bench, and 3 Officals escorted him over to Sims, who had Lewis, Duke and Steele  standing next to him..Adam had already left the sideline to Huddle up with the Offense....Now? Coach Parks either thought he was really smart...or...was anything but....because the  Network Camaras where there to see/hear it all...

 ..OK  Sims..I wanna know  now..you going to keep this Bullshit up all game..you really gonna try to score 100 points on us...Humilate  an NFL franchise of  National TV?  The words were sharpe, with more then a little disgust in them...

Ben was out on the field as soon as the O were called, and watched the goings-on with some bafflement from the huddle.

  Bronk looked from the huddle to the sideline, then back to the Cowbots' sideline,..look at them...half of them are sitting around  drinking powerade, and laughing..but they'er down by 50 points!..the other half, moping about, mostly the backups,'cause they can't do nothing about it...

  Turning his attention to  the Huddle again,..THAT....won't happen here..everyone has a chance to make a differance on this team,,,even Givens...

  Lucas Hit the Right flat, Ben crossed to the Right, Givens  Cut the post ( sort of)..and JArrod  took off..The O-line was doing a great job, or the  D-line was tried..or just plain quit...Adam had a chance to set up and  look down field, checking deep first, before checking down...

Ben's feet pounded as he shot off to the right, but the Cowboys' D were on to him quickly and he went down in a pile of Cowboy jerseys.

Green??  Luke looked around and saw that he was open to run like a silver bullet clear through the defensive's line, or if they wanted to call it that.  Making a mental headway through, he kept checking back to see if the ball would be thrown at him or if he was going to need to step back some and clothesline someone for sacking Adam.

   Lucas Hit the Flat, with JArrod  taking his guy down Field and the Safeties  doubling up on Ben... Adam Never  gave another look at Givens, He fired  the pass out to Lucas, and slowed to a walk as he watched the outcome...The RE tried to give  Adam a 'bump', But the  QB/WR just side  stepped him, Sloan and Miles were there to make sure  he didn't try again.

  Lucas Caught the ball cleanly , turned Up field and  rattled off 30 yards, before  the  Hooker   Got away from JArrod  and Knocked him out of bounds...

  Adam was ready to get the team lined up to Go for it, when Fry whistled  for him...

  Go and get this one Tali.... Sims  said...the bsll eas at the 12..with the 10 of the endzone, and 7 yard spot...it would be a 29 yard FG..

  Adam came off the  field Nodding to the  FG team, buty it was easy to see , he was  a bit bummed up, aboiu t the Dragons not getting the TD...

Tali nodded and snapped her chin strap on.  As the FG team moved out, she clapped her hands quickly and loudly as she spoke rapidly in Arabic, caught herself, and then said, "Come on people!  Line up, quick and fast.  There's no dawdling here."  She paced off her approach, and waited for the snap.  As it came, she ran up, planted her right foot and swung her foot through the well placed ball.

  Adam Nodded to Jarrod , saying,...really liked to have shoved  another  one down thier throats.....


  Alexia stood Near Celeste, watching the Dragonettes, and then would peek at the Cowgirls. She  giggled and shook her head.


   Sims  Waved Bronk over  Duke, with a baseball cap on, Steele with his  hat on Backwards Looked at him. Sims  says,..what do you need, to move the ball?

Celeste shook her head at Alexia's failing attempt to woo Adam.  It wasn't the first time, and she was certain it wouldn't be the last.  Knowing that, she perked up and put on a very innocent smile, underneath devious plotting at its best.

Sounds like a brilliant idea to me, she said.  Why don't you go and ask his opinion, Alexia?

She wanted to say more, but left it at what she said.  She wanted to see how far Alexia would push it.

Luke strutted off the field and walked up to Harry after passing the water table and picking up two waters, one for himself and one for Harry.

  Getting the ballback at thier own 20, The Cowboys  took the field, this time Pete Kopen  , #6, the Cowboys  2nd team QB took control, the whole  Cowboys Offense was 2nd teamers.. Cowlings  Stood next to PArks, Holding his helmet with a disgusted  face.

   Parks  looked at Sims  and  grinned at him...gave him a "what-are-you-gonna-do-now" look.

  Sims  LAughed  and shook his head   and The Dragons' first team defense  went back out.

  If Parks thought he could  Shame Sims  into calling off the dogs?...it just proved, how little  anyone knew the Dragon's head Coach.

  The First Play from Scrimmage Dalton and KAne  combined to stop the HB for a 2yd  loss.

 2d and 12, Cowboy 18 ,12:40 left. when the ball was snapped, the  HB tried to get around the left end, he was hit hard by a frustrated Santos, for no gain.

3rd and 12 Cowboy 18  12:02...Kopens  dropped back to try and Find a reciever, he was checking  down to try and pick up the first, without  going down field...

  Alexia gave  Celeste a slight  smirk,...I'll see if i can grab him after the game....They won't  start shooting  , until halfway through the season..so they can use  some game tapes...then..hold off until the end of the season, so they can use that as the ending for the movie.

Ben nodded.

"Um. It just seemed, I was getting nowhere the last few plays. Wondered if I was doing something wrong."

Celeste smiled and nodded.  Sounds good, she said. Have fun with that.  Hope you ladies enjoy the rest of the game.

She gave them a friendly nod and when able turned back to Lu-Ti and Eve and spoke softly to where they couldn't be heard.  She gave Yuto a nod and shrug of her shoulders at Alexia's appearance here.

Under my cold dead body will she "grab" Adam, she said. Been trying to get in his pants since he joined the team, has failed every time.  Maybe I could find James and let him know his Lady Luck has arrived.

She gave a subtle giggle and turned to business of the Dragonettes.

Ricky took the field quickly and gained his composure at the line ready to take on and push out of the way any Cowboy offensive lineman that attempted to get to him.

He was going to take down one more time, the QB with that ball.

Lucas stood and then mocked jogging in place to get a good feel of the tape and then wiggled his wrist to loosen it up just a bit.  He checked his gear, laces, and maneuvered about getting use to the new tightness of the tape.

Let's hope its quick, he said looking from Harry to the field. Going to be some sick coverage on ESPN when this game is said and done.  Just hope we can keep this up for the rest of the season.

He gave Harry a concerned, but less than weary look.

Drinks on me, he said and patted Harry on the back.  Going out to stand by Adam, he picked up a ball that was on somberly sitting in the ball bag.  He tossed it between his hands and looked to Ben and Adam.

Wanna keep your arm limber, he said and gingerly tossed it to Adam.  Let's get us to that 100 mark for the big man.  He motioned towards Sim's with a nod of his head.

With a sly grin, he put his hands to his chest.  Not too hard now, I'm a fragile creature.

  Ricky broke through the  LIne, Coming up and Under Kopen's Chin... The Ball fluttered  hoplessly backwards, the Refs ...signaled it an Incomplete pass... Sims  ran down to the sidejusdge and Pointed  that it should be ruled a Fumble ( wheeler had  pounced on it)..but in the end...the Call stood, and out came the Cowboys  Punt team.

  The Punter Got a Rocket off it travled to the  Dragon 15, Klay brought it back to the  Dragon 27...1st and 10, 11:20  left in the game.

  Adam took the  ball and stepped off  a bit, tossing it to Lucas...Ben Caught  for Adam  and flicked the ball to him to toss back. Adam looked up at the Scoreboard...About...11 minutes to try and get 26 points..that's  4 TDs...or  three TDs and a couple of Tali's  FGS...

  The  Punt went  down field , Sims  , Duke and Steele  turned to Adam,..Take them in , Kid.....

With a  Nod  as he slip his helmet  on and  Jogged out to the field, Adam noticed, that the first team Defense was still on the  field... One of the Cowboys  pointed at Adam  and Nodded his head...Adam pivited  as he backpeddled to the Huddle,motioning with his  arms  to 'come-get-me'...Any Time....I'm not hard to find...just look on the field!

  Adam  walked inot the Huddle  after the LB waved off his  words, he was Buckling his chinstrap as he loked across around the Huddle,..Don't know about you guys?...But i never believed in the folks who cry about running up the score....in highschool? I was on both ends of it..never saw any one feel sorry for us...so we never felt bad about any one else....in DIII? there was a real good chance yoou could  get rung up a couple  of games each year...especailly when the Big Ten scheduled us for  war up games....now...here? All of us..every single guy on both teams, earns a paycheck to play football....I want our  fans to know, we earn every dollar...

 The..All hell broke Loose  as Adam tucked the Ball was pointing Inside  as he shouted something to Lucas... then turned the corner...no one would know the score of the game, by the reaction of the crowd...people stood as if they were part of 'the wave'...a rippling sound of low Mummers was breaking into full throated Cheers...

  those  Cheers Exploded  as the DB was faked out of his jock and fell to the ground, grasping at the  scampering  Bronk...all eyes  shifted to Jarrod and Morris...a good Block gave the speed  Bronk the sidelines  the whole way to the endzone....a missed Block ended the play...it would be a great gain...but these fans  wanted blood!

   Looking over the Defense, Adam barked  out  some false words, Pointed at a Linebacker, as if he was setting protection...The MLB cat called to Adam..But stopped  as  Adam looked at him across the line, and grinned,GREEN!....HUT!

  The  MLB was caught by surprise  as Adam  sprinted out tot he Right, He followed Lucas sayingTAKE HIM INSIDE!..Lucas  walled off the DE and Adam Truned the corner, When the WR/QB turned the Corner, the People in the Stands  stood and Hollared...now..there was  bug-on-the-rug, and the Cowboys  had to step on it!  Ben was Between the  far safety  and Adam, Bronk took one  Glance  and forgot  about him...putting his trust in Ben..He Pointed upfield tot he  Near Safety, for Jarrod to Hit..leaving Hooker One on one with Bronk in the Open field..

  Inside the helmet, the Camaras would show, Bronk Grinning like a wildman as he  turned the Corner, The Ball tucked  away in his  right arm, nearest the Dragon Sideline... Hooker came  runnign up, breaking  down trying to keep his feet moving as Bronk closed in, alot more quickly then Hooker  would have thought. Bronk Juked right , Cut  , left, then Pivoted  back to his Right, leavign Hooker  grasping at His  legs  as the DB fell in a tangle, of his own legs, Adam Broke up the Sidelines...it  came down to JArrod  and his block on Morris....
