Re: Travel times

The Team and  support folks  get left off , the  baggage  folks have a list of where to take the bags and who's  rooming with whom.

Yuto Waves   Adam  and Ben over,..I have told Lu-ti..she will speak with the Dragonettes...but on the road..especailly this town...since they were one of the ones who raised , much..how you say...stink...about  brining our cheerleaders...we are Putting them in the Floor above you with the support staff and coaches...it would not be a good thing, for them to put things in the paper, that would CAst the Dragonettes in a bad light..Father  won the right to bring  our  cheerleaders as he said...' i own the team..and part of my team , are the cheerleaders...if they cannot  come..then the home team, should not  be permitted cheerleaders either..it is  an Unfair  advantage..'

Adam  frowns  at first then nods,well..it makes  sense..if  the away teams headsets go out..the Home team cannot use thier  either...We'll be good...

Yuto Grinned  and Bowed slightly,..Thank you , Adam -son....Ben-son...it  means alot..this first  year..for us to show the NFL..what a differance  we can make... Yuto went off to see the  Desk clerk to check to see if everything was  alright.

Well..we have 15 minutes before  we have to go to the dining room..may as well see if  we can find the girls and  get a seat..gonna be a long night  of looking at films....

Lucas  was handed  a new ankle brace, by HArry...Just got three of those in for you...you slip it over your foot, then the scok, then we tape it..you should be  good...just in case? we'll tape the outside of the shoe  as well...

In reply to Bus ride (msg # 17):

Not likely, Luke chimed in.  Then again, I've been wrong before.  Let's hope its a bit more peaceful of a good-bye than I've heard of from other teams.

He gives a shrug and hefts his bag on his shoulder.  He halted when Harry stopped in front of him and handed him a nifty new gadget to protect his ankle.

Thanks, Harry, he said.  Let's hope I have a better end of the day today than I did last week.

He gave him a smile, but a small inkling of concern was evident in his eyes.

Re: Travel times

The ding of the elevator door alerted Eve as the doors opened she hesitated then glanced at the buttons, this was her floor, prompting her to quickly exit. Heading in the directions that were displayed at various intersections she found her room Once inside she plopped on the bed and looked around; noting the flight, bus ride and reception check-in were all a blur.

Re: Travel times

Celeste and Lu-Ti had been set to share a room.  That was so that they could work on different routines and put their sources together on their next plan of action.  Hearing a door to the right of them open and then come to a hard close, they both looked and figured that Eve was now in her room.

Celeste quickly typed out a message to her.

Drinks?  Head cheer room...room service??  :D

Re: Travel times

The Dining  room was nice the TAbles  set..smell of Coffee  filled the air and  did  the smell of  fresh  rolls.

The Team and Coaches entered  and began to find places to sit. MArcus  sat off by himself..his playbook near him.

most of the  players  sat in their normal bunches.. This would be a 'working' supper so only the Coaches and  players  were here...supportfolks  and the Dragonettes  could use the MAin dining  room, or get room service. ( on the Dragons  of course)

The  Waitresses were nice to them, they had  pads  and asked them what they wanted form the menu..

Adam got a large Bowl of PAsta with  a light  reddish sauce and a salad.. a Milkshake to go with it..and   a Cup of  coffee to have with  a slice of  cheese cake  for  after.

The  Coaches   had  the big presentation screen pulled down as they set up the  slide  machi8ne  and the Video machine.

Lucas walked in with a grilled chicken on ciabatta bun and some baked chips with tea and found Adam had already found his spot.  Luke was never much of a note taker, so he came to eat, listen, and learn.

Anything been said yet, he asked as he took a seat across from Adam.

In reply to Celeste (msg # 23):

The ringtone alerted Eve of an incoming text. Fumbling with her handbag she extracted the motorola and flipped through the screens. Thumbing just freshening up will be there shortly. Taking a quick shower Eve dressed then she slipped out the room and tapped on Celeste's door.

Re: Travel times

Having already changed into work out shirt and shorts, Cel answered the door, her hair in a ponytail holder swung back and forth as she walked to the door and then back to the edge of the bed.

We've got ours in the process of being fixed and sent up, what would you like? she asked Eve.  I figured once everyone had settled in, we could head to the weight room for a small work out.

Lu-Ti was in the back typing on her phone.  She too was in a less scantily clad clothes, but was in work out gear.

Re: Travel times

they were about hallway through dinner when the Films started...Sim  had let Lewis take the first shot. Lewis outlining how the  Colts use  a form of Hurry-up..but not quite as intense as  the dragons.

he stopped to add, that the refs  have been reminded of the 15 yard unsportsman like conduct that would be laid out , if the Colts  had  'injuries' while the Dragons  ran their offense.

the new  rules , that came into place, because other teams tried to slow down the Colts....would not work against the colts.

15000.00 fine  for  the player...15000.00 fine for the Head Coach...100,000 fine  for the team....there could also be suspensions involved should  a player/team make a habit of getting hurt...

he ran some films from practice..showing the DL and LBs what they did well...and what he wanted them to focus on for the game..some where big..like a blown coverage here or there..some were small. like change in rush vectors and such...

Re: Travel times

The Meeting/dinner goes well...Lewis a bit more cranky then Normal. Sims  seemed to be a bit more hardnosed then Normal

questions  asked  , answered , and tweaked as the flims flipped abck and forth, lazer pointers  pointing out where they would attack..or a tell-tale sign an opposing player was giving up.

The Players were lined up by the elevators waiting to go up to their rooms...some  kids were  let in to get autographs or take pics while the players had to wait.

Adam waited until the end so he  could  sign and Mug for the kids.

Re: Travel times

Most of the Kids  were 'winners' of a radio station call in that allowed them access to the Dragons for Pics and autographs....it was...somewhat odd...that no one told the Dragons.

One of the Radio station folks  were there..some loud  fast talking Guys  saying things   like,"..we promised the Kids the dragons would sign and take Pics  ect ect,,,"

Adam  Lokoed around for Yuto...he figured , if there was a PR thing going Yuto would not be far away..he was not in sight.

Adam , while he signed for a teenage  Girl who hgeld up the Picture  and  screamed as she ran to her friends,..well.... he began, and made sure  he was very close to the Mic,...Our PR folks weren't informed...i would have to assume, either your station droped the ball...or the Colts Failed to Notify us....The Dragons have a long  standing policy of working with Kids  and  organizations....if you want..I'll call our GM?..and he can address this?

The  DJ looked shocked   and said,ahh..no...i mean..the Kids  are getting some Pics  and   sigs....

Steele came over  with  Makins, some of the people  yelled for him and he waved, what's going on Adam?..can any one  Join in?

Adam   Nooded and Made room for the other  two, Kids started flipping through Glossies that the  RAdiostation had  Given them as pasrt of their prize, they held out his pic for them to sign, DJ said this was all set up?..You hear anything?

Steele Looked up at the DJ..who looked very uncomfortable, then back down as he said,nope...think  Young  Mr  Amota  would have told us..all the PR goes through him....

Looking over at Ben  Adam  raised his eyebrows to see if Yuto said anything to him..

By noiw, a lot of the players  were getting bored waiting for the elevator, they saw the Crowd  and came  over...before you knew it a good dozen Dragons were signing  and poseing..The Kids were  very happy..the DJ?...not so much.

Re: Travel times

Ben caught Adam's eye and shook his head minutely.

"Never mind," he said. "Come back into the dining room, all of you. If you are supposed to get an inside look at the Dragons... what we have been doing is watching game films and thinking about what we intend to do. Now, I'm not going to tell you our playbook, but here's the sort of things we look for... Adam? Got a disc of our last game back home? Let's take the kids through a couple of plays."

Ben was in his element. He loved talking to youngsters about football. And it would give time for Adam to scamper off and ask the Yuto's what they wanted done about this situation.

Adam opened  Up his   Disc holder  and  thumbed through the one   for the Steelers..he figured the Kids would like seeing the S teeler s get beat..he handed  Ben the Disc...and they went into the room, the Kids  Fanned out..soem of the players stood  by the door to sign, some sta  down at the tables  and  signed and stood by something in the dining room to get their pcis  taken with the Kids

The DJ  didn't know what to do...a TV cam  came in and was taking shots as well..it was  all out of the DJ's  hands  now, the interns  were handing out the  " photo-pac..marker and roster list" to the kids who showed up..there  was now..close to 50...

"OK then," said Ben, setting the disc up, and pulling up a picture on the big screen.

"Now, I expect you all like watching a game, yes? But do you really pay attention?"

He blanked the screen momentarily.

"Who was O and who was D?"

He listened to the first few calls, then put the picture back up.

"The Steelers were defending, we were on offence. Now... what we would be looking at here is not what the Dragon's QB is doing - we know what he'll do... we check out what the Steelers are doing."

He took them through the sort of things they'd look for when reviewing an opposition team. Placement. Twitches. Who looked where...

some of the Kids sat down and watched,,,alot of the older boys, and even a fe teenage  girls..Younger  Kids moved around to get their pics  and sigs.

Miles  and Sloan , heard  about the kids  and  came down to sign as  well...Duke showed up with Smokey and began to sign as well.

The DJ had lost control of the whole thing...the TV New  guys  were eating it  up...a rival team..having a Kids  night..and  even showing them films...

Yuto came down  and  asked what the heck was going On...Adam Pointed to the DJ  and Yuto went  over , pulling the Guy aside..they talked  for a few Minutes..Yuot  looked very upset..but  as he looked around the  room..he gegan to laugh and  walked away from the DJ..he  inserted himself near the TV guys  and began to say " what a wonderful way for Indy to welcome us. allowing the youngsters  a chance to meet and  green a Division Rival..this  is something goofd for us..and the NFL...for  people to get to know the Opposing team..."

The TV guys ate that up...feeds were going out to ESPN, The HFL  network and  even regular News  stations... Yuto was Ginning from Ear to ear as he Got on his Cell Phone....

Re: Travel times

Ben continued showing the kids various plays as they unfolded on the screen. Before long, he had his iPad hooked up as well and was demonstrating moves with the animations he used for his own study.

"You see here... how the safeties almost predetermine the routes the WRs will run by the way they position themselves. Them and the likes of me at TE are just looking for holes to run into.... then we hope like heck that the QB has spotted where we are going and will throw us the ball."

Ben couldn't help himself, and ran video of one of his touchdowns right between the posts, when Adam had thrown the ball over a whole bunch of D straight to him.

"See - Adam's good at that. He reads the plays better'n just about anyone, hoped that I've seen it too and throws the ball to where I ought to be!"

the Kids  and  players  all laughed at this.  Adam Watched the DJ...he  had lost control..the set up to make the Dragons  ahted  and look bad?..was truned  full and well against him.

By now...other   people were cpomign in off the street..either hearing the radio, or catching something off the TV or  social media...

there were even some  Teenage Girls   coing in with   "Steele"  jerseys  Or  " Bronk"  Jerseys  or  " Hope  Jerseys"...

Adam was signing the   Number 19 on one of the Girls Jerseys   As   the Indy Newpapers showed up to take pics.

Meanwhile, some of the Older boys  who play Highschool were waving hands  asking  Ben to show them  who to read the LBs  coverage drops.

"OK, guys," Ben said to the high school students. "First up, listen to your coaches and do what they say... or they'll come round to tell me off! That taken as read, these are some of the things we look for with LB coverage drops..."

Mixing the animations with video clips Ben did his best to explain. This was fun! He was more convinced than ever that he'd like to coach when his playing days were over, preferably youngsters.

Celeste had received the message and with prompt action gathered all the girls as she passed through the hallway.  Donned in their short short pj's, most of them Dragon gear and piggy ears, they bounded down the hallway and towards the main dining room.

Celeste stopped everyone a moment and motioned for a Dragon cheer as they entered.  There were kids around so did have to take some extra precaution.

Here we go Dragons, Here we go! the dragonnettes cheered as they skipped towards the players in need of a rescue, pom poms in hands.

Once Celeste and Lu-Ti were near Adam and Ben, she looked at every one.  Now who is here to cheer on the Dragons at the big game, Celeste boasted loudly.  Let's here it for the Dragons!

Celeste prompted the girls to give a loud cheer.
