The Jets game starts here.

    They were up, and went into the dining room to eat.

     Most folks were quiet, some  had  Head phones, Croft and a few others  were overly loud, hiding  nerves  with their  mouths.

  Bronk was  sullen... he   kept  looking at  his lap top..running   plays ..over...and over..and over.

 The Caoches  were  quiet as well Huddled   in their own area as they ate..  passing   tablets  around  and  jotting more last minute notes. But they didn't bother  any of the players.

  at 8:00 Sims  Simply announced,..Alright... get  your  Stuff..bus  leaves at 8:30..you miss it..you don't play...

 Adam had  his  gym back that had what he needed... he  walked out  of the Dining room towards the Bus.

Ben ate waffles, bacon and maple syrup for his breakfast. He was neither quiet nor noisy, just sat looking around the room. When directed, he got up and headed out for the bus, putting a Dragons cap on his head.

Emma had been up well before 8:00 and gotten her things together.  She'd also done her morning meditation to help get herself ready for the game.

She had pancakes and bacon for breakfast and was mostly quiet as she ate.  Since she had everything ready to go already in her bag, once they were told to meet on the bus she got up and went to the bus as well.

   They went through their warms ups. There  were Cameramen from the Newtwork carrying the game, as  well as  from the NFL station, Some  reporters  looked around took notes, chatting to  each other  , while newspaper and magazine  Cameramen stacked out their areas in the End Zone

 Later, the team sat in the locker room. there was sounds   of some folks throwing up. Last minute b-12 shots  for players who didn't  'feel right'.

 Bronk laid on the Floor, tossing a ball into the  air  and catching it, one hand, the other  hand.. both hands.. then do it all over again.

 Payne sat on the  stool by his  lockers  his eyes  closed rocking back and   forth.

 Miles   and the other   O-line men were talking over something  on a tablet.

 Then Sims  called out... Zip up!..Full team.. which was the signal, that the ladies were coming into the main locker   room.

 when they were all  ready Sims  and the other coaches  came out..Sims  stepped forward. ..this.....  he started out softly,holding up the playbook,..is what we  worked, so hard, to install this week...but...like  any battle plan... it will erode, when the shooting starts...the   side that wins, must do two things.... take the

Pacing back and forth, he says,<Red>..i have heard  announcers ...i have seen the papers..i have even heard other coaches says..." we took them out of their gameplan.."  he started to laugh, some of the players looked at each other.

 ...i want people to be AFRAID...to take us out of our gameplan.. I watched a pregame show last night.... the  ex-player said, the Cowboys 'stopped the bleeding'  when we  were rolling up the points... he shook his head.....stop the bleeding....

 He stopped  walking and looked around the room, I don't want the other  teams to try to beat us.... i want them...to stop the bleeding. I want them...to try to take the air out of the ball so we do score 80-90-100 points..and no..i don't give one damn about ratings... about  our  game being switch to another...because there was a time, when JAcksonville didn't have ANY..national Televised  games..The important  people... the people of Jacksonville and  out  Divison market..will see the whole game..and those are the only people I care about...watching the whole game.

 ..so... you make  each hit...each catch..each block.. like you were on someone's highlight  film..cause somewhere out there..there is  a little boy..or little girl..or crazed adult.. that is watching   every move you make...

  then he got a devious smile,..the announcers  don't like it.. the NFL doesn't like it..but this is what we are doing...This is New York  we have  3  players who  grew upo here... Bronk..Wheeler and Stalls...The three of you and Young  Mr  Amota..will lead the team out onto the field  when it comes  time for us the Come out of the Tunnel...The whole team will follow...we only do introductions at ort house, for our  Fans...

   Duke...Payne and Miles  will be  Captains....

 the was a knock on the  Door the Ref  said,Time Coach...

 Sims looked around Nodded to the  priest and pastor as they said  some words...   and the  Team walked out the  Doors, Bronk  leaving his head Gear off  and caring it... his  eye black was already starting to  smear from sweat.

  As the  TV guy tapped  Mackins on the shoulder to  run out first... Bronk, Wheeler and Stall  ran past him, followed but the rest of the players  and team, and there wasn't anything the  proctor could do to stop them... the  announcer  caught himself   enough to blurt out...  head coach Sims and the  Jacksonville  Dragons!

 The  staff that was already up in the box where laughing, the timing of the whole thing was thrown off..and the Jets  had to come out earlier then they thought... they went through their   introductions...  and  the Giant Flag was   rolled out by  people who were first responders and 911 operators.

 The Anthem played... 3 A-10s flew over the  building... and  the Captains  went out for the toss, after  the Flag  had been secured.  The Jets won the toss and deferred.

   after the commercial breaks.. the return  team took the  filed,  Klay and Adam back they   shook hands  and spread out...the  ref  blew his whistle.. music was playing loud as the Kicker  sent  the  Ball deep..Adam was the deeper  man, he field it 7 yards  deep, and   didn't even hesitate to take off.

 Heading Up filed   he veered slightly towards  Klay  Who came across the front of Him the Smash into  the contain man of  the  ..dragons'  left side..the hit  brought  some of the crowd  toi their feet as the roat began to grow, Adam  cut back to the Left as   Jers  hit into another Jets player,  Givign  Adam a small holethat he squirted through... the fans  stood   as  he broke up the sidelines, shifting the BAll to his outside.. The Kicker was  coming   acvross and Dove.. Adam leaped in the air and  over the Kicer... but  was Pounded out of Bounds  by a Jets backup safety... Both men flew into the Jets' bench area scattering players  and coaches like ten Pins...

 The little  wide  up  was up  and running  towards the  huddle , tossing the ball to the Ref..

 They had to wait for a commercial break Klay Gave  Adam a High  5  as  Duke jogged onto the field...looked into the Huddle and said.....fast..hard..no mecy..no Huddles   Unless i signal for it..get the ball to the ref..run to the line..lets make them work..while we have fun!... Draw to Lucas... then..look for holes..just like  we practiced....

  they broke the  Huddle and  hustled to the Line.  Duke called out fake  colors  acould Jets LBs  shifted  around... the snap came and the wraparound went to lucas we went between Miles  and sloan for a pick up of 6

NFL stadiums were bigger when you were going out on the field than when you attended a game as a fan. Emma knew some of the really big name college stadiums were huge too, but having played in a small conference she didn't get to experience those on a regular basis.

While the offense went and did their offensive thing, Emma was on the sidelines with the defense, watching the game and listening to whichever players might end up giving her advice for her first game.  She wasn't expecting to go out there to start, but she knew she might eventually get called in, so she was just keeping herself ready to go.

Ben listened to the exhortation from Sims, and came out with his usual "HERE THERE BE DRAGONS!" before trotting out in the middle of the pack.

Out on the field he watched the opening proceedings, cheered at Adam's kick return, and was ready to trot out onto the field with the rest of the Offense.

This is when he really came alive...

   Duke  knew what he wanted to do, but needed to  know if they could do it.. From  the  Pistol, he called a quick toss to   Ben's  side of the line.

 Adam Fakes a  slant.. and  locked up with the DB, Klay  took the pitch and ran towards  the Jets side of the field...Ben when to Hit  the DE, and was  surprised  by the  ORLB as he Smashed Into  Ben Leaving  a way for  Havers  to shoot through, The Collision with a surprised Klay, Caused him to lose  2 yards, and almost the ball.

 Regardless of the out come the  Dragons Hustled to line up, As  Klay snapped  the play out, almost in anger.

  the  play  was straight from the game Plan.. receivers find the Holes... except, he sent the BAcks out to the Flats as well.

 The Crowd was almost as loud  as being in Dragons' Lair  Both Mackins and  Bronk had to watch the movement of the ball , because they couldn't hear Duke's voice.

 at the Snap, Ben was  met  with the DE slamming into him as he  came out of his  stance. Only to be Hit  Again by the ORLB  after the DE broke off.

  The defense  paid the price, as  Adam, Noticed, As he looked in for the movement of the Ball. the ORLB moved ...he set up, out of habit. in his  nature spot..but took a step up and in, so he  could  Hit Ben.

 Adam didn't even Fake, he slanted  in  with his head Turned towards   Duke, Duke, with No backs wanted to get rid of the Ball quickly..The  CB on KLay's  side charged up on him in the flat, as the  Safety moved to where he thought, Adam was going to go...

 The ball zipped into Adam who tucked it  away ,planted  a foot and took to running steps  Before he was Decleated By Havers... the Big Man's  pads Hit Adam  in the Chest.. stopping the top part of his  Body, while his legs  kept Going.. They Both Hit the ground Hard... whistles  Blew  and the  Back judge ran up to hold the ball.

 The Ref Looked at the Spot and signaled  1st Down by 2 yards.

  As  Adam Got up he shook his head, The ORLB Looks at him and Ben,..get used to it boys.. we're hittin' you every ...damn...play...  Farth # 52  was grinning, his teeth stark against his dark black skin.

 Duke  waved the his people  to the Line, This time  another  draw to Lucas.... Once More, The  DE Hit  Ben.. Adam  slanted in to  try and  Get a Blck  on the  ORLB but the man had  already stepped up to wait his turn at a Hit on Ben,

  Lucas drove through the hole.. he  and HAvers had a savage collision, and both fell backwards. pick up of 4.

  Duke  wasn't happy, but he didn't want to waste a time out....Sims..wasn't happy, but trusted  Duke to get through this drive, then they could talk about it..he didn't want the Jets  to have the Moral victory of causing them to call a timeout.

  The next Play  saw Ben  Getting Hit  again.. Duke  fired off a quick pass to  Mackins who was driven  to the ground with a nasty hit  from the  CB.. short gain

   Duke  saw the Jets Hugging the  Line he looked to Both sides   screaming as loud as he could to be heard over the tidal wave of sound from the  Jets Fans....SCATTER.... SCATTER

   Adam and Mackins took off deep as fast as they could Go.. Ben.. was  hit  by the DE  and ORLB  again, but  fought through to Hook Up  behind the DE... Klay went to the  Flat on his   side... Lucas on his...

  and Duke  ran forwards thought he  hole between Higgins  and Miles... Havers  gave him  as hard a hit , as the Vet QB ever had..but he  picked up 3 yards.

 Duke Got  up adjusting his  Helmet by pulling on the facemask.. and  Lined Up in shot gun..the Fans   were still loud... but  they were frustrated in the 1st downs.

  The  next play was back to the Game plan.. Find the Holes...but..Duke wanted  Ben to get a Ball , so the Jets would  back off a Bit.

 at the snap, he faked to Mackins  then Turned,,held the ball a bit took long and rifled it into Ben..The safety that was on  their  side, and  Havers closed in..they all met..at the same time the BAll got there...

Ben's long arms and big hands proved an advantage as he reached out to snag the ball and bring it in close, wrapping himself around it even as his feet left the ground under the impact from the safety.

 Ben came  down hard with the safety following through on the hit and Havers  adding to the  weight, just soon enough, not to  get flagged.

  Ben had a hard  won 7 yards.. Duke was slow getting up, as Miles  and Sloan  each pulled  at hand up.
 As soon as he was on his  feet,  Duke Motioned  for the team to line up

  Again straight  with  the GAme Plan.. Ben was Hit, again by the DE. but the ROLB held of a step. letting Ben get  another Curl in   Adam ran a slant, then broke back out His hand in the Air  as the Safety bit  down on Ben..  mackins  Hooked up..Lucas  and Klay both hand to pick up Blizters.. with Lucas  , hammering Havers   as he split the Hole between Miles and  Sloan.

  Duke  threw  the  Bal  hard and Low towards Bronk, the DM  just nicked it as high Jumped as high as he could.. the flutter of the ball didn't matter as Adam  Jumped  snagged the ball and  flee backwards to make sure he was in...

 The Dragons  Fans in the House cheered... while  a very long  groan was heard as the   pass was complete for another 1st down.

    Adam  zipped a pass to the  Backjudge to spot the ball ( he dropped it)..he  smiled  sheepishly at Bronk as he  set the ball down..already    the white  Jeresys  where lined up.. the O-lines' helmets , with the  distinctive Decal  made the  heads look like a line of  snarling dragons..the eyes  staring are  the defenders.

  Again.. Duke stayed with the GAme Paln Called the snap  faked a draw to Lucas  and fired over the line to  Ben.

  Ben, who was hit  again had to fight through the hit nad  found a hole that HAvers left when he came up on the fake..  Both safeties hit   ben and brought him down for a gain of  8..

  This time the   draw wasn't a fake. Lucas   churned into the line Knocking Havers back a  yard before being brought  down for  a gain of 4.

    The  fan were screaming now ( both sides).. this was torture  for both... could the Jets hold them  to a Field  Goal... Could the dragons push it in, after this long agonizing drive.

     Duke  stepped back into the pistol and took the  snap.. Ben was taken out Low By the DE, determined not to Let Him in the endzone.. the  DM  on Bronk locked Up with him and the  two men all but wrestled  at the 4 yardline. But, Dike faked a pump to makins  and   turns, snapping off a pass with his wrist to Klay in the Flat.. the DB on that side  took himself out, fighting with Bronk.. and the ROLB  came in to 'Finish off ' Ben.. so, Klay walked into the endzone.

  and  , building wide Groan went around the stadium..while pockets of  cheers  from  Dragon Green or  white  dragon jerseys had  formed.

   Smokey came out  and Kicked the ball through...
