From Gym

After an exhausting workout, Lindsey entered the Den in need of some more energy. Though she wasn't feeling particularly hungry, she knew she would crash without eating something of substance. So make it easy, she selected a chicken salad sandwich with a bag of chips and an unsweetened ice tea. She also opted for a slice of apple pie for desert. After paying for her food, she found an empty table and set up. Babs wasn't in the Den yet, but when she finally arrived, she would have a friendly place to sit

 Player   were almost all in line or seated  now.

 Sweated up dragonettes  came in for  drinks  and a  small lunch  after   workouts and swimming, they would have to  practice their  routines  , while the team practiced.

 Megan sat down, but   heather  with  a bowl of Veggie soup and some rolls  with a tall glass of ice tea.I don't know  how hard   the  practice will be for us, But i am tired from just the weight room

 Tracy . came in  with    Sims, Babs  and Lou.. Babs  was tryign to hide  a Giggle.. Lou looked stern, Sims  looked....displeased. BRONK!... You are a Bastard!

 Adam  nodded as he reached for his soda.....This, is true...

 you can't keep your  damn nose out of   anything!

 Tracy slammed  a hand  down on the   table.who the  hell do you think  you are...dictating  what I can do  with ,,MY..people!

 Adam's  Fork    fell out of his bowl and hit his  Keyboard..his eyes  when as wide  as if he got cheap shooted. he  grabbed  napkins   to clean it off..You  idiot!... that lap top  is worth more to the team then i am... he wiped  and   got sauce  out...Babs...any of them.. They aren't ..YOUR  people.. They are Lou's  People... low  us part of   Coach Sim's people... and all of us  are Yuto's people!  I don't know where your head's  at.. But you have  the best trainer in the league.. right there...and that's  just no me... you asked the guys,  You..you have been there your self when she  tapes  our  ankles  or  , spats   out cleats...

 Tracy was redfaced...she lookd at Lou , who shook his head.. Sims  was still displeased. She  turned to Babs,you got  what you want.. i hope you're  happy...  she moves off to the Table  with the other trainers.

 Sims looked at  Adam,hell of a hill you picked, may as well have been San Jaun Hill...  he walked Off.. Lou leaned over.You did good Kid, this will all wash itself out  by Draft day  he moved  off .

 Eve  stopped by , she looked at him coldly,do you have some  kind of Complex.. was it that important  to  have  Babs  be taping   for the next two weeks?

 Don't know  about the others?.. but its Important to me... i blow out  an ankle, because some trainer is jealous  of a  new kid
 in the building?.. That's not my problem...

 you talk big..but what happens if a FA  or  Rookie  comes in here and takes  your  job...

 Adam shook his head,Then its on me...right?... some one  can play better, hit  harder and  take the hits, they deserve to be  here Amotas?  Sims?  They  don't owe me a damned thing... They gave me , my chances..and here i am... Lou gave Babs her chance, and here she is...why you wouldn't  want the best Tape person on the  line, doesn't make any sense.

 Babs  has to work with all those others.. how do you think that will go now...

 Adam Looked at Babs who are a firm lipped smile.she's  from the North east.... Jersey Girl.. she'll handle it, hell ? she was carrying  most of them anyway...

  Babs  seemed like she got  taller.. Eve  gave  a head shake  and  went to the trainers  table.

 Babs  smiled with a bit of Moist eyes...Thank you Adam.... she  touched his hand  and   scurried over to  Lindsey. Sitting  down she  waved   for a Big King Bomb Burger  and a  shake, OMG..... he   got  me back into doing training things again..  Wayne  has to do the tables  and stuff...he didn't have  to  stick his neck out ...but now i get to do, what i do best!

the  server brought  Babs  food over, she  gave her  the money and  5 dollars  for a tip.

she looked at  Lindsey  and  bit into her burger. Sooooo..LA  tomorrow.. Lots  of   guys ..and i guess girls, looking for fun!!! she  looked round  and lowered her voice..There's a guy... he plays  Bacon  Bean on Star Hunters.. i started  watching it a few weeks ago,,, he  this  hardnosed   bounty Hunter, who  does  all kinds of  good deeds  while killing aliens  and  stuff....  The Actor Name  is Zeke Aston.. I know you can't get autographs, that would make you look goofy,  But if you see him there? maybe  sneak a pic for me? Watch out   though , Entertainment show  says he loves his ladies..

Bronko got some lunch and sat near the windows.  He heard all the conversations around him, but he wasn't involved, so he kept to himself.

Lindsey looked up when Tracy went off on Adam. It was hard not to hear what was going on, but Lindsey was absolutely perplexed at what Eve's problem was. Babs was good at taping ankles. The guys liked how she did it, so why was the senior trainer so bent on keeping her in a box. Was it jealousy, or something else? It was pretty well known that Tracy didn't like Adam. Adam liked Babs. So, maybe this was less about Babs and more about Adam. It was hard to say, but the net result was the same. In the end though, what this all should have been about was doing whatever was good for the tea. If the guys preferred that Babs tape their ankles, then there should have been no further discussion. It was shocking how self centered Tracy was being. It was even more of a surprise that Eve chimed in on Tracy's side. She was usually the level headed one. Still, despite all the gnashing teeth, Adam got his way, as he should have, and Babs would be the official taper. Once it was settled, the Jersey girl bounced over to Lindsey's table and took a seat.

"Hi Babs. Yeah. I have no idea why it was even controversial. If the players want you, then that should be the end of it. No further discussion. Tracy's acting like it's all about her. The Superbowl is less than two weeks away. It should be about the players. Period. And it's not like what Adam was asking for was even slightly unreasonable. Tracy should be ashamed of herself. That goes double for Eve."

Lindsey waited for Babs to get settled with her burger, then lit up as the conversation turned to the Emmys.

"Ya. LA tomorrow. Believe it or not, I'm actually kind of nervous about it. There's going to be a lot of star power there, and so many influencers. They'll be looking for fun, but Sage said they'd be looking for connections also. Just being there will be fun. Anything else will be extra."

"Star Hunters? I don't think I've heard of that one. Did they really name the character Bacon Bean? That's hilarious. And memorable, I guess too. It doesn't sound like the name for a tough guy bounty hunter, but I guess that's part of what makes him interesting." Lindsey took out her phone and looked him up. "Oh, yeah, he looks like a bounty hunter, Cute too. If I see him I'll get a picture for you. Yeah, it might be a litle goofy to ask for autographs, but maybe not. Stars are also fans of each other. I'll see what I can do. What makes you think he'll be there? Was he nominated for an Emmy?"

  Babs  finished a couple bites, and  asked the first of the questions  first.from what i undestand, tracy  went to school to be an athy;letic  trainer, she also wanted to go into sports medicine?.. Eve has been helping her there, but  there is only so much time... and the classes are hard,  so? tracy will either have to wait until she's in her 40's...or she'll have to   quit here, and try to be a doc?  or..quit trying to be a Doc.

sip of  shake.I found out  from Wayne, that  half of  those trainers  went to school with  Tracy at UCLA...the others  she  picked from the
  schools in FLA... I....am  an 'extra'.  When Mom and me came down here, i tried to get some college  jobs, but i could only get jobs  that they wouldn't pay me..and we needed the Money. So, out of desperation, I came to The Lair  to  work ..someplace?.. but i took a  wrong   turn.. Adam was coming out  of the lockers, he looked tired, and beat up, but he had a  kind smile.. I asked Him  where i would  find out  who is  Hiring.  He Pointed to Lou , who was stacking   boxes of tape with a couple helpers.

 she  Grinned....Lou asked  me  what kind of job i was looking for?. I told him i was a trainer, but only had  a little experience.. he  punched the flaps open on a  Box, , pulled out two rolls  and   showed me   a trainers  belt. I  buckled  it on,  and he  got the  two helpers
 to  take their shoes  and socks off...he pointed at one , saying  'regular'..the  second ' High ankle sprain '  he held up a stop watch,  and said 'go'..i hand  both  guys   taped  in less then 2 Minutes.. he looked at the high ankle sprain and said, 'what's this on the inside of his  Ankle ", I shrugged, and said ' you didn't  say   anterior  or  exterior, since he's smaller so I  figured  anterior  since  , lighter   guys  get it there alot..

  Lou   went in his  office  and  Came out  with for   cokes, and we all sat there  and talked.. the  guys  were having  fun  jumping up and  down  with there  tape on... Yuto  came in a few minutes Later, Lou said  what  happened, Yuto  checked out the   tape jobs, and  Lou's  watch , he opened his Lap top  and had me  sign an E-contract... :: bang::  I'm a dragon..sorta... I worked the rest of the day with them.. That's when i met tracy...she wasn't happy..AT  ALL.. Lou  pointed at Yuto, Yuto smiled ..and  ::Poof:: , my boss  was my  'not friend'.. But its  worth it  to be here...I get paid  great, and  I'm going to be at the superbowl! I could tell you  About Adam..Mik too..but not  as much... Adam  went through alot, ebcasue they knew he played  for  Sims  and was friends   with the  Amotas....her eyes  got  galssy for a second..all my years around sports. I have never seen a guy work so hard,  and get beat up, so badly, Miles and Slaon picked him off the ground, so many times, but  a second later , he was right back in the lines doing  drills with  split lips, or a black  eye, and god, the Bruises, when he was in the  hot  tub and  ice tub.....but every Cut? he was still there.. Payne   was one of his  supporters   aftra  they jacked each other up...lots of stories... but it  don't matter...

she looked at the  trainers  Table  and tracy   glared at her, and  Babs  finger waved, and went back to her burger.


 then to  the Emmys Zeke is the  Main Character of a weekly TV show.. the  season ender  was last week.. they'll have their  3rd season  in starting in september...., they are  up for a few of the  emmy's.. Best  Actor, best show-sci-f, best special effects..Writers... she  waved her hand..Lots  of stuff..Ulla  Dark, she plays  Vista, she  the  bad  guy who has it in for Bacon. Its  funny..He turned  down Captain Lighting because he didn't want to work with Linda...Then? according to   Entertainment show, he was turned down to  be the  spokesman for
 Big Kings  Bacon burger. According to  the  news guys, Mr Cross said they had their  spokesman, and they didn't want to tie into  any shows
 or Movies just yet. He's supposed to be a playboy, but he's nice  about it, according to the   papers, the  Girls come  and go...  she giggles at that.

 Kane  sat down  by Bronko... Hey Bronko? what do you think  of  the  Saints  line..they are Big, but they ain't fast? . the  table next to them  the backers  were  sitting down, Cruz, Sal  and  Branch settled in,  Payne was  standing  with Duke talking about something.

  Prince    walked  by Lindsey and   Babs, he  gave her  an awkward  smile   as he moved to the LB  table.

"In my experience, speed beats size almost every time.  Sure, they take up more space, but it also means they aren't agile enough to keep balance.  If you drag the block in the wrong direction and let it go, it will put them off balance and unable to regain footing quickly enough to block properly.  That means one of two things, either paths to the backfield, or lots of holding calls.  We know their weaknesses, and this is one of them.  We just need to properly exploit it."

Lindsey nodded. She didn't know any of that about how Babs was hired. It kind of made sense that Tracy might feel slighted if she was supposed to be in the loop, but that wasn't Babs' fault. But also, Lou was actually the hiring manager. It was his call. And it was interesting how Babs wasn't at all apologetic about it. She shouldn't be, but a lot of women would feel a bit embarrassed, and even self-conscious about having all this trouble swirl around her. But from Babs' cocky finger wave, she was feeling some empowerment.

The description of Zeke Aston raised Lindsey's eyebrows in surprise. "Wow. That's... interesting. It sounds like I might not have to chase him down. He'll probably come to me. I mean, just on the Big King Burger angle alone we have that connection. But also there's Linda. It sounds like we're orbiting the same planets in a way. If I do run into him, it sounds like we'll have a lot to talk about. And a lot of those guys are playboys. I'm expecting that. But who knows. Maybe it's the girls leaving him."

When Prince went by, Lindsey smiled at him, giving him a finger wave. He looked awkward. After he went on to the LB table, Lindsey turned back to Babs. "I feel bad. Prince and I had such a good time last night, but today I've been keeping him at arms length. I'm just really scared because these guys don't seem to understand dating. I feel like they're expecting that just because we had an evening together, we have some exclusive relationship. I let that happen with Adam. And then again with Wade. I'm not doing it again. That kind of relationship can happen after we've been dating a while and I feel like I'm ready. Now I have Wade and Prince trying to be my one and only. I'll talk to them after practice about what I want. If they don't want to play it that way, then they can find someone else who wants what they want."

"And we've been gagging poor Prince. I spent the night in Ben's old dorm, but came in with Adam. Since last night at the party we've been playing up the 'you can have both' thing. Now Prince half believes Sage and I slept with Adam. It's eating him up, but I'm not inclined to tell him that it's all just kidding. He should be able to figure it out. I'd say that even if I had done something with Adam, he should be able to accept that because we almost literally just met, but I can understand why he'd be upset. I did turn down staying with him last night. I also told him ahead of time I'd be in Ben's dorm, but I guess all the innuendo is getting to him"

 Babs nodded about    Zeke,well? whether  he hunts you down or now, you know he'll be in the building

another  bite  or two.yeah?  Don't know   Prince or  wade  that good,  Hal  taped the  LBs , most of the time, They are good  guys in the locker  room.  As  far  as  what you  want?  That's  what you want?  Me?  I'd Like a  guy who would be steady , Stalls is fun..we'll see   after the season, how often he cames  back to New jack..and why?  she  shrugs,whatever..right?

she chuckled  about the Gag...its  funny , right.  I mean? Adam  would never  do  two...he'd have to be drunk? if he was drunk, he wouldn't be Adam. But  prince  might  think its possible , and that just feeds  it? he can't  deny it,'cause he  figures  it could be possible?

 itshard to tell about guys  , right?  They say the  same thing about us..

"Yeah. I'm not saying I don't like the idea of a steady guy, it's just to do that I have to trust him. I can't know if I trust him until we've been dating a while. I'm not going to just go steady again after one date. And I'm not going to blow Prince off for Wade after the way Wade pushed me aside."

"Yeah I know" Lindsey shrugged. She did know what Adam would or wouldn't do. She knew Adam very well, so no one was telling her anything new about him. "But it's not just what Adam would do. It's what I would do. Would I team up with Sage on Adam? Maybe. But that's not really the question. The question is whether I'd spend a nice evening with Prince, then leave him hot and bothered just to go jump into bed with someone else. He doesn't know me well enough to be sure that I wouldn't do that. And that's exactly why I'm not jumping into anything. So, yes, exactly."

"So, you know, you're position is pretty assured, but you're relationship with the other trainers is going to be difficult. Are you going to try and mend that with some of them at least?"

 Heather walked into the Den, smiled at everyone and went up and got a burger fries and a salad. Heather then sat down with Megan, and replied," Wow yeah I bet you ladies are training hard it is the Super Bowl everyone will be watching. Coach is going to run us tough this weekend and then we will be ready for Next Sunday."

 Heather began eating as she waited for Megan to respond.

After the meetings, Wade went with his teammates to the Den for lunch. To be honest, after sitting on his ass all morning, he was ready to get out to practice and exert himself. He ate but didn't get anything that would weigh him down.

"I have to tell you," He said to the table, "this waiting is getting old. I wish the game was this weekend."

  Branch looked over  at Wade.yeah?  I mean?  why take all this time?

 Prince  spoke up, a bit quietly,well?  first they have that clown show  for the Pro Bowl, and  the pro Bolw game is a joke..but? everyone who isn't in the superbpowl , gets to see thier  Fav players  around the league  act like dickhead..but  hey? they get paid for it, and so does the league....

He took a bite of  chicken finger  and Gravythat extra  week gives  teams  a chance top get healthy , and the networks  can shine that apple

"Well yeah, and there's nothing we can do about it, but I'm ready to get going." The need to build it up in the press was understandable, but that didn't make the waiting any easier. "But I guess since we have the time, we might has well use it to become stronger than ever."

    Payne   said  , for the  Backers to hear, course lots of people could hear... Its good to be strong...its  better to be smart. Sims   has already started the super Bowl, He's  got Bomb out there, goign head to head  with thier  'mouth'.. Sims has  us trapping all over thier Idenity.. The were the  'bad assed  Saints',  Champions of the NFC... But  we're the dragons, Lords  of the AFC, andsoon to be ruler of the NFL. Aint  no oner talkign about,  what the Saints  can do to stop us,  But everyone is  talking  about the point spread.... our jobs  are easy for us to understand... we stop them  from scoring   points...our Offesne  keeps scoring points... and the  team that has the most points, is the winner..Its  getting  intense  now.. wait until media  day, and that  kickoff party? That's when the bombs go off.

 Cruz  Grins..well... i'm all for  stoping them from score, but i want to light them up... they keepign talkign all big  and bad...

 Sal smirked,I want to   ge rotating to the flat when a back catches  a swing pass.. see if  i can do to them what has  happne to Mik and  Bobm, , see if i can land them on thier drink tables

  Prince adds...Drink tables  are no good.. that's between the  40s, in the  team-coaches  B0ox.. you want them  flying into the camera Guys, inside thier won 20

 Megan  gave a nod as she  ate. Amy  said   that Coaches  is using his  'fuoll contact'  Sunday and Monday.. Tusday is a travel day, and wedensday is only meetings  until 4;00..then its   Media  day at the stadium, and that  runs  right into the Kickoff Party, the eams , some bad,  Rich fans on the field, algn with the media  and   the stadium fuoll of  normal folks who  bough ticks  to see us party  and  get interviwed  by some MCee  guy..Thursday is when it gets  real... no media at the  practi8ces, except  for the  NFL Presses and the  teams own 'home town' folks

  Babs's  burger  was almost done, she  still had 3/4 of her shake.I sorta know where i stand.. Tracy  'hand picked' people won't be too nice to me.. the  'home grown ' ones might side  with me a little. But here is the main thing.. I was like a free agent..right? No one wanted me, and the Dragons gave me a chance....I..knew i was good, some one had to see it.. Lou did...Adam did, Mik did  and more and more Guys came around...Hel? I'll tape the whole team myself  if  they want me took, and I'll do it in less time they  the whole rest of them can do it together.. The way i see it right now... THEY..have to keep up with me.. i'm betting , with Lou backing  me, some of those  trainers  will lean more to me then Tracy...Tracy's  Buddies  she  hired   will  try  to stay loyal to her..

 The real proof, will be  when the FAs  start coming in for workouts, , there's a few 'pro days' they'll have at our house  too, before the draft... that will be after   our  guys  go through the   contract thing.. by that time, I'll know if i'm still here, or not.

 I guess  we won't see you around much, once the  Movie machine is cranked up

  Adam, Mik and Mindy talked  with  Machins , Stalls   and ben Nearby. some of the others  were scattered around.  Dragonettes  sitting with  some player who were by themselves

  Adam's  phone  kept  buzzing  he would looked. out of  10 buzzes  he would ..maybe..answer one.

"I don't actually know what my schedule is going to be like. I mean, other than my modeling trips. I imagine I'll be pretty busy, but that depends on what roles I get. I'll be around though. The question is how much. So far all my film credits, either from appearances or commercials haven't really taken all that much time. From what Sage has told me, it usually doesn't go that smoothly, so we'll see."

"But really, you too, right? The camps are in May, and the combines in March, but I don't imagine you'll be taping ankles much until preseason."

 Heather smiled and replied," Yeah he said he will work us this weekend like it was a game so we will be ready for it. Yeah we head out Tuesday get to Miami that will be a long flight." Heather giggled as she ate some more than added," Wednesday will suck all those weird reporters asking weird stupid shit. Yeah I cant wait till Thursday Megan."

  that's where i will see where i stand, for next seaosn. Sims  will use  some of his own players   for th FA  tryouts  and Draft invites... Our guys wi need taped..maybe the FAs , unless they bring  their own

 we'll be  setting up for the rookie Minicamp.. then the OTas ..then mandatroies .. bleeds right into camp.

 Megan giggles , its like  some kind or torture.. all the years  this town waited for the superbowl, when they were  lucky to win  a couple games..now..undefeated and a week and a couple days, and it seems like  forever to get there now.

"Right, but those are just events. What will you do in between? Do you just get paid vacation?"

   Babs  shook he r head  quickly as she  chewed her last bite,.well  we  have to set everything up  for the Olympics, this will be  the main  Venue  for   Track.. the  Jumps  and  throwing  will  be  in the   baseball filed ,when they don't have  games, .  Tracy  signed us  up to help with  athletes   taping and   stuff , so we'll all get an extra payday  with all that going on..all the Boating stuff is  going   on in Miami...Rowing   will be in Tampa  Bay..  swimming in  going to  be  at New Jack University Gymnastics  at  FSU. Diving at UF/// cycling, they  built  a  Drome near Tallahassee...  Marathon  and Bike races will be  be along the    coast  that will start and  end  at New jack.. Archery   will be  at New Jack U,,,shooting too , i think

 she  sips from her shake  and Looks  at Lindsey,Its Sad, Adam won't run... not only could ge  get even for being screwed over..but he would  be  Running  in..HIS..stadium?  how special is that?

 she sighed, anyway?  I am going to  be one Busy chickee  with  all that stuff, front he end of the  Su0erbowl, until the  start of  summer  camp..the   Olympics  will over  Lap. Coach Sims  is already complaining that  we'll have  to go 'day to day'  for  out  practices, we might  be spending  most to the  summer  at New Jack U.

"Oh!" Lindsey looked surprised. "So, you have a very busy spring and summer ahead. That's good. I'll try to make time to be around for the team events. My modeling schedule seems to miss all the bog dates. I might even be able to go to Indianapolis at the end of the month for the combines. I'll know more when I see the shooting schedule from Paulo. And you can bet Carlton will come up with some BKB commercials to associate with the studio productions. Who knows, maybe I can recruit Zeke Aston." She grinned, waggling her eyebrows. "Then you can get his autograph in person. But be careful. I hear he's quite the playboy."
