Player Rules & Zombie Code/Caravan Code & RTJ Form!

Player Rules

The following rules are self-explanatory. The GM's are not the Gestapo; everyone must do their part to make this a fun experience, this game is about YOU after all! :D

Zombieland has an Open Door Policy. If you have any questions or concerns, talk to us! Please do not stop posting and dissapear if you don't like something. The GM's are here to help you have the most fun possible.

1. No one-liners. This is self explanatory, really. Even in a boring situation, creative people can provide some action and/or substance.

2. Attendance. At least once a week, though if you can't post, please inform your posting partners as to your RL obligations, etc.

3. No Godmodding. This is a prime example of God Modding:  Player A: Punches Player B Player B: Dodges attack, grabs Player A and throws him. Player A flies at Player B, who warps behind him and slashes Player A in the back.

New Rules may be added as we go along and run into problems.

Zombie Code

1. Its a virus!
-Transmitted through blood, bites and body fluid contact.
-We are not all infected. (not Walking Dead rules), the unbitten do not turn.

2. Zombies are slow. Anything a fat kid or elderly person can do, without expending calories, a zombie can do.
-Note; corpsicles---> zombie popsicles, they freeze, they thaw.

3. You must destroy the brain (or sever the brain stem).

4. Infection can be stopped by immediate amputation.

5. Speed of infection depends on your character's health/constitution, and, of course, dramatic necessity (because we are writing a story, after all).

Caravan Code

1. The Caravan stays together.
-All activities(raids, etc) must be undertaken by the entire group. You can be away from other players, but you must stay in the same thread, the same time and place.

2. NPC's are background characters and sheeple. They are their own people, with their own opinions, but will follow whichever player-character is in charge/most dominant/influential/humps them longest.

3. New players come into the action and the main group.
-No side thread beginnings/auditions etc. They join the main group from the get-go and join the action. They are dumped into the shit.

RTJ/Character Creation

IMPORTANT NOTE:

You begin the game as a member of the Caravan, a group of survivors who had travelled for many months together trying to survive as a group against other survivors, undead, and the elements.
We recently underwent a time change, jumping our players ahead 4 months, from Autumn to Spring, skipping winter.
You are one of the new members of the Caravan. It is to be assumed that your character had joined the group sometime in that four-month time jump.
Your character will already have met everyone in the group, more or less, so no need for introductions.
In Zombieland, first impressions mean little, such is the nature of integrity in the apocalypse. More integral is how well you mesh with the rest of the survivor group that matters.

ALSO; When creating your character please consider that you are a person who has survived in Zombieland thus far, though you can and may very well be bitten, wounded, or killed eventually. Make allies or friends, and you may survive. Act callously, and circumstances may run against you.
But fear not, if you die you may start a new character, or play multiple characters if you have the time and ability.

The Character Sheet

Name:

Age:

Appearance: 1 paragraph minimum, may post images but still need to have 1 paragraph. ONLY real human Character Portraits = No anime/cartoon portraits.

General Personality:  1 paragraph min. 2 paragraphs maximum. Give me a sense of what your character is about.

Back-Story: 1 paragraph minimum, 2 paragraphs maximum. From the time Zombieland/the apocalypse began to recent history. You may go further into their back-story, if the information is relevant to the character design.

Plot ideas?: anything intriguing to add to the plot in general or for your character? Examples; alcoholism, wanting to get to a certain play and why, ways to create intriguing tension within the group, etc.

Character Arch:
Your character changes, just like you do! Give us your idea of how you expect your character to change from how they begin in the game, to how you think they'll end up. Will they start with hope and become ruthless, or start ruthless and regain hope? Etc etc.

Writing Sample : This section will make or break your acceptance to the game. Must be as the character you have just submitted.
I know this can be a pain to sit down and do sometimes but it is required to ensure we have no one liner's(Rule #1). 1 Paragraph min, 2 paragraphs maximum. This does not go into your character description unless you wish it.
It is recommended your writing sample include potentially how your path interceded with the Caravans, and/or possibly a display of how your character reacts when faced with the undead and/or hostile humans. Show me how your character will be like in the game; remember, your writing sample is like an unofficial contract on how you will play, so do not write 3+ paragraphs if you can't sustain such posting in the game.
