I'm contemplating how to handle some things with Victoria.

I'm waiting on character RTJ submissions for Saskia (Final point negotiations) and Auna (i have nothing but a statement of interest)

So... yes... well ahead of the curve at the moment to wrap up by fridays... probably... i have a medical check up coming up in a couple of days though and will be out all day doing stuff... nothing will get done that day.

Prologue seems to be moving along fine with little required of me at the moment, i will interject game master narrative now and then when i think it's important but will work on staying ahead of character generation for now.

Ive died on the hill of character generation too many times to not get ahead of the curve and put it away so i can focus on play.

Much concern seems to be had over a player medic... i will still go on record to say that it's not a concern players should really worry about.  If push comes to shove i'll generate one for myself to join the campaign with or roll up an npc to join the party with.  I dont want any players to feel pressured into playing something to meet the needs of the party and maybe end up with a sub interesting character for themselves.

Just something worth mentioning... since more than one player seems concerned about healing.

Currently all of you are Human (high)

you get to pick two racial perks.

You can select Cure Light Wound (1)/Day, which makes your character a pocket emergency healer. You can even cast it more than once by expending 2 mana points to do so...

You should have something from me after I get home from work. One of the two concepts that after jostling for position in my mind would help with the concerns alleviating the need for a friendly NPC to help. The other less so.

Either or is fine.   When the dust clears we'll have six of eight slots filled.  So even if we have zero healing, we still have room to fill that void.

Looks like Auna is going with Mirielle, a half elf, which should be interesting...

Adding a Prologue for her, since i don't anticipate any real problems that should interfere with her roleplaying in prologue.

Working out Mirielle and Saskia a little.

Also firmed up in my head that I'll play a Miko, asian wandering exorcist cleric type.

Very much a medic, which should put Zander's mind to rest.

I've been wanting to see one in play since the east/west campaign.  There is no reason why i shouldn't and with the need for a bit more healing all the reasons that i should.

Mirielle not going to appear in the campaign, going with a different concept.

My cleric is going to be a miko from asian, and Auna will be playing her kunoichi bodyguard.

Going to avoid serious thinking for now, especially anything that requires math.

This should settle six characters, finalizing details for Saskia, they may be involved in clotildes plot line which is fine, she can use a co-conspirator with her plot line.  The why/hows i'm going to wait till after i firm up discussions with Saskia and i don't feel dizzy from hunger.

We seem to have a pretty solid seven, which puts us pretty good in the 6 to 8 target.

I'm not going to put an open want add out.  Quite happy with the seven (counting myself) forming up a party for adventure.

That said if any of you know a decent player looking for a game, and will vouch for them to make the recommendation, i'll make room and take that new player by recommendation.

Okay... some food and an afternoon nap does wonders for my mental facilities...

Unfortunately things have piled up over the last day or two so... i'm giving myself the day off from the campaign, and probably looking to catch another nap or sleeping early to properly square myself away.

I'm actually okay with the way Aeron and Victoria view their time spent with one another, it probably says something about how they view one another.

Clotilde and Saskia will probably be working through the Stop the Apokalypse plots together.

Sa Mei (Miko Exorcist) and Sara (Auna's bad ass Kunoichi/Taimanin) will be roving around Ghost Busting.  They're both competent enough that Victoria might do something about having them both join PRINCESS... maybe... who knows.

The campaign was still not officially to go online till tomorrow, so we are far enough ahead of my original time table, that i dont mind napping a bit till tomorrow.

We are at seven players, and unless someone has a recommendation, i will leave it there to shake out for a chapter or two.  Sort of a proof of concept shake down to make sure everything is working and players all still want to be involved.

Love all you guys, but history has taught me, that no matter how perfect a party looks, on average at least two will have to drop out or wont work out for some reason or another. So rather do the hassle all at once later, than twice when i don't have to.

Things to happen to wrap up the Prologue and then start the actual first chapter.

- Introduce Sa Mei and Sara

- Introduce Saskia

- Clotilde ~> Expose an injury she received recently

- Victoria ~> Inform you that she knows of a salve to treat the injury.


Adventure One ~> Classic Gathering Adventure to get your feet wet, kill a few things, gather a few things, make some coin.  Pretty easy shake down adventure.

I can probably summerize the last two check offs on the list, but thought it might be more fun for the players to roleplay through it while i'm working on character sheets and stuff in the background.

I feel so much better. okay it's a day to be productive in some many things that needs doing including RPOL.

okay included everyone into the prologue (except myself), who i'm giving a pass for now cause i'm spending my time mostly doing character sheet stuff.

I have a lot of work to do for Sara and Saskia, i know.  First in, First out is the order i'm doing stuff at the moment, so the more complete character sheets are getting a glance at first so i can just finalize them, and forget them... which eventually will give me greater focus to deal with these last two~three characters.

Okay,

Aeron, Clotilde, Victoria, and Zander are in final stages of completion for character sheets.  Just a few tweaks left.  Unless there is major player objection, they should be finalized soon.


Will work on Sara, and Saskia with more focus now, and start on Mei as well though she's a late after thought, since i want to get all the players squared away first.

Hope to get first drafts out for Sara and Saskia by tonight, and after getting feedback, finalize them by tomorrow... well that's the theory anyways.

Sara has a working character sheet down, in discussion.  Going to find something to nibble then i'll take a look as Saskia.

Clotilde and Saskia get a prelude thread to bum around in.  Nothing to affect any of the other characters, just a prelude bit of roleplaying to get some information across.

Putting you both together in one group was not an accident, rather it was done because they share common ground, and it made sense to do.

For those of you that remember... i am 'semi' using the rule of wounds in this campaign.  Wont be a super focus, but if you take more than 10 points of damage in one go from an attack you took a 'wound'.  Wounds are special injuries that linger and normally leaves scarring.

A cure spell will get the body up and running, but there will still be lingering signs that the body took a nasty injury.

Taking less that 10 damage means you took bruises... cuts... and the like, that you can shrug off eventually given time.

Clotilde shoulder injury was cause by a bear mauling, claw claw, bear hug sorta thing.  not the sorta thing a person walks away from, so a scar from the wound is a minor issue in regards to being dead.

That said, with wounds, there are means to get rid of wounds.  [which will be brought up eventually, since that's the point of the first adventure]

on schedule last touches are being put on character sheets, then i'll give Mei a little love and we'll be ready to start... we can either at that point wrap up the prologue and start chapter one, or leave it to continue in the background (its just roleplaying), which i'm fine with, but from experience people will tend to forget/ignore it in the shadow of the actual adventure.

Going to give everyone the weekend to enjoy themselves (that includes me) and probably start Chapter One on Monday... by then, i believe about everyone should have complete.. or almost complete characters... you wont be waiting on me hopefully if you're not complete at least... o.O

In the end Saskia went with simple, which is not a terrible thing, especially for a first time player to my game master style.

I need to spend a little time with Zander, this is actually his first pathfinder campaign, before this campaign started, it was run on Dungeons and Dragons, so he's adjusting to some of the rules, as well as the volumes of house rules that come with it.

That said, i have Mei's old character sheet that i'm mostly going to update, and make campaign legal to use.  I should be able to get that done fairly quickly when i find some time, so i'm going to start setting up chapter one.  I don't expect a need to shove off on chapter one just yet so we still have a little time to wet our feet and figure out the character dynamics in the party.

Its also been years since i've set up to marshal a chapter, then again its only one party so hopefully i still remember how to set them up.

New players to the campaign will have to get use to how economics work in the campaign.

I'm a capitalist at heart, but i run my campaigns as if i were communist.  Everyone has a function, does what they're suppose to do, and if thing resolve nicely everyone gets an equal~ish party split, modified slightly by character level.

Everyone also has an account set up with the Magic Shoppe.

We are technically in a bookkeeping phase, doing light roleplaying.

So... if you have craft projects to be done, now's the time to do it.

Victoria will get to ink two more pages into her book for spell casting, and brew a potion.  PRINCESS will cover the cost for Victoria's crafting so she won't have to worry about it, just pick out the spells and potion you want to craft.

Everyone else can state a craft project... or not.

for new players... time in the misty valley passes at the same time as in the real world.  So the seasons and holidays sort of get roleplaying in the campaign too... or a version of them.

The adventure takes as much time as it takes, and the difference is presumed to be bookkeeping phase that happens in between adventures.  During the bookkeeping phase, youre not on adventure and you're living a normal life... more or less.  If this was a comic book you'd be in your secret identity going about your business.  This is why everyone has a profession skill, this profession is what you do during your down time.

Most of the time, this profession is suppose to cover the cost of your lifestyle tax.

old players should sort of remember what i'm talking about, new ones will get the hang of it quickly.  Doing nothing is an option.  If your secret identity is loafing around and being a  potato, i dont mind less bookkeeping for me.

ummm... yeah... yadda yadda yadda...  were almost ready to start.  Im' considering this is a good omen to my usual starts.  Everyone is on track and i'm not drowned in paper work from the get go.  (its nice to have returning players for that)  Very much good with holding off on the last player to add maybe after the first chapter.... if ever.  Will consider it after were a well oiled roleplaying machine, or if we lose a player or two and feel the creative input loss and need replacements.

The moment has come...

I'm still finalizing character sheets, but we should all have a good enough idea of what we intend to do to at least start the first chapter.  We should... have full character sheets for everyone by the time actual combat comes along.  Till then, we can get our feet wet and start moving off from the prologue to Chapter one.

I'm not going to close the Prologue just yet.  So feel free to move it along.

The Prologue can be expected to close officially after i have full character sheets for everyone... which should be some time this week at the pace you lot are going.
