Something i learned from 4e and thought would be neat to apply is the notion of 'class modifiers' for ability scores.
Not going to go to the depths they do, but i thought it would be nice to apply.
Class modifiers are applied based on your Favored Class.
I will allow characters to add an ability bonus of some sort, based on their class. (This bonus can not cause the ability to exceed 18)
Aeron +2 bonus to one physical ability {Guessing Str?}
Clotide +2 bonus to one physical ability {Guessing Dex?}
Victoria +2 bonus to one mental ability {I suggest Int, but if you're not looking to power game i can see Cha too}
Zander +2 bonus to one mental ability {Guessing... Charisma?}
Will start looking at racial abilities... Traits... and feats tomorrow.
Everyone is a High Human, so they get to pick two racial perks from being one. Go read here if you dont know what i'm talking about...

Then everyone gets their level 1 feat, a bonus feat for being human and at least one 'trait' (Zander gets two).

Victoria will have both Scribe and Brew Potion, from being a Wizard / and her blessing so she can actually spend her feat as she likes. No clue what makes for good wizard feats, if nothing else comes to mind toughness might be good to keep her alive...?
