Campaign notes...

This thread will be for explaining how various character classes fit into the campaign in general and more specifically the Misty Valley region.

To start with, the main focus of the campaign takes place in the Grey Mist Valley area, an area along the northern mountain range of the Euro Empire.

There is a Dwarvern Ring Hold seated in the mountain range to the North of the Valley.  The Dwarves seem content to stay in their ringhold, making occassional excursions out to raid the lands around their Ring Hold for goods to pillage and plunder.

For decades now the Elven houses have slowly increased their influence in the lands east of the valley.  Slow methodical terror and shadow rulership seems to be the way they work.  Leaving intact (more or less) existing human settlements as long as they pay a tribute to their Elven masters and concede to any demands they make.  Any resistance is quickly dealt with, most seem to quietly vanish in the night.

The Black Bloods are the most active of the non human races, aggressively moving in from the west, they've already acclimated the lands west of the Misty Valley, boxing in the human settlements on three sides, leaving them only the caravan highway south to the Euro empire as anything resembling a safe haven of trade and supplies.

Paladins and Inquisitors...

Very very frequently asked questions, probably the most asked question among the character classes.

Both exist and operate as orders of service to the One King.  Both have similiar goals, but different methods of achiving the goals.  Both classes are in orders that are in the Service of the "One King".  Think of them as the CIA and the FBI.  Both have an interest in keeping the country they serve safe from enemies.  Their 'juristriction' and how they go about executing their duties vary.

The Inquisition are the One Kings wandering lawmen and keepers of law and order.  They make certain that the one kings laws are upheld and that justice (as they interpret it) is upheld.  Almost without exception, all (human)inquisitors follow the faith of Creed, with a few exceptions that find a higher calling serving Sol or Luna.  The inquisition are like the Rangers of the old west.  They travel around, empowered by the lawful regime to execute justice in their name.  They act as Judge, Jury, and Executors of sentence.  They only to each other and the One King.  An Inquisitors Holy Symbol often acts as their 'badge'.  All active Inquisitors are 'issued' a Holy symbol that has been enchanted to in some manner to verify their authority among one another as well as designate their rank and immediate superior.  It is important to note, that all Inquisitors in the service of Creed are Lawful.  Creed is law, philosophies of good and evil are less important to him.  As such, it's possible to encounter a Lawful evil Inquisitors as Lawful Good ones.  *Though Lawful evil ones are limited to NPC's*

The Paladins are another order in the service in the One King.  They are the morale conscience and military arm for the One King.  Where the Inquisition often operate alone with little coordination or aid from local authorities, Paladins will often seek to work with such authorities.  They are often considered a more 'noble' and kinder order in the service of the people as much as the One King.  They seek to enforce the 'spirit' of the law, not the 'letter' of the law.  The Paladins seek to promote and serve the greater good.  The Inquisitors serve the Law, and would rather be feared than loved.  Sol is the favored Divinity among Paladins, though it is not unheard of for a rare few to feel a higher calling to Creed or Luna.

It should be noted that while tolerated, Inquisitors who follow Luna/Sol or Paladins who follow Luna/Creed are often looked upon with some level of suspicion and concern as to where their 'true' loyalties are.

Barbarians in the Misty Valley

Without a doubt the most common Barbarian in the Misty Valley are the Gemaniac ones that have taken over King's Hills.

William Vandal is the acknowledge Clan leader of the Gemanic Barbarians that have claimed King's Hills and guard it from the Black Bloods looking to retake the area.  His son Erik Vandel is his acknowledge heir and active war chief, often setting off to raid Black Blood outpost and haplass patrols.

The Gemaniac Barbarian are reknown for their ability to hurl weapons with great accuracy and force making them deadly opponents before they even enter into melee.

Significantly fewer in number but fearsome enough to make make an impression on the people of the Misty Valley are the Nordic Barbarian.  A small band of them have settled through out the Valley.

North Shire Regular Army Militay Ranks.

http://artzone.daz3d.com/azfil...6imsuhyscw5-full.jpg

The Euro Army colors, are Dark Blue and white (or silver).  The military ranks for the regular army are often stitched on the left arm of shirts/tunics worn by the army.

Most of the campaigns characters are considered 'Irregulars', which is sort of like the 'National Guard' or 'Reservist'.

They are considered 'Privates', and a white bit of fabric is tied around the left arm, in place of an actual military insignia.  Characters that have served in the Regular army maintain the ranks they muster out of the army with.
