Have fun at the Con.  I can see that the registration table is totally covered.  It's good to see the next generation of gamers enjoying themselves.  :)

Quick note, this weekend is my gaming club's annual gaming con! I won't be able to post until Sunday or Monday, depending.

My little Gia and my wife Michelle volunteered to help at the registration desk:

Grin Tony needs to show the clip of one very confused little daughter being offered two spoons at one. looks on kids face is a real joy.

Sorry to take so long in posting.  This bug has bit me again.  Could be because the weather can't decide if it should rain or snow.

Rosemont, IL 60018

It used to be called the Rosemont Convention Center

Yep.  It was the Rosemont Horizon.  I still think they should have kept it to that.  Just got back home and am TIRED!  Had a wonderful time.  My crafting soul got nourished and I kept with budget.

To many names change because people think it would be better. The Willis Tower will always be the Sears Tower and the Horizon will be the Horizon.

Yep.  I agree.  I still call it the Rosemont and they still have the Rose inlaid tiles etc.  Work up to no cable and waited for Comcast to come out.  They replaced both my modem and my box for the tv so here's hoping it works now.  Off to work to try and get further along in prep for MOnday's meeting.

Re: OOC Thread IV

Posse,

To clarify, no one else saw the thing and so no one may react, or if you decide your character did see it they are frozen, can't react for some reason, or whatever.

No one needs to change their post but by the same token no one is going to have an action this turn except Peter. And you may still not act until you make a TN5 Guts check (starting at the end of this turn).

Again, your characters cannot do anything.

They can't prepare for combat. They don't know combat is about to begin!

I don't mind your characters seeing the creature, or something, but please don't post a direct action like taking aim or preparing a spell. It simply won't happen until next turn at earliest. That's all I meant.

Re: OOC Thread IV

I think i messed up the roll, Vundra passed the tn5 gut check. What he failed was me rolling for card draw initiative as i thought we were doing combat rounds. As we didnt have a round yet, just take the bust as no card for ne this turn.

Re: OOC Thread IV

In reply to Vundra (msg # 91):

I think I see what happened.

While you intended to roll for the TN5 Guts check versus surprise, it turned out it wasn't needed as you never actually started combat then.

I took that roll and applied it to the TN9 check for seeing the bodies coming out of the vats. As the rolls were the same and there were no mods, it seemed equally valid to me.

From a practical point of view Vundra wouldn't be able to act further this turn, even if he made his roll. In other words, you can re-roll your Guts check but it won't affect this turn further (as Vundra has already acted). It could affect future turns.

In reply to The Marshall (msg # 92):

Crap. Double crap. Fraking zombies. Damn Ranger Creeds. Oh well here goes.

3 questions Tony.

1) Can I assume that Jason would make sure that the Posse cleared the room?

2) Is this a standard door way or a double doorway?

3) How long can Jason hold a doorway against 50 or so Zombies using Fred's package?

Re: OOC Thread IV

In reply to Peter Firecrow (msg # 94):

Sure, yes, you have all acted. Time for new actions!

Everyone make Quickness rolls.

As for Jason's questions:

1) You would think, eh? But Rangers probably don't use frag grenades all that much, although they are more paramilitary than regular law enforcement. This is a hard call, I want to give you the benefit of the doubt but Jason's action was pretty clear.

2) I assumed standard doorway but upon reflection I think it's probably a double door, except 1 door is closed (secured shut by pins). It swings from the var room into the storeroom, making it easy to block from the far side.

3) The item Jason received was not particularly effective against undead. If they need to come at him single file he could probably hold them off quite a while.

To clarify #1 above. I meant before walking away from the door. Not before he threw the grenade.

#3 True, but would Jason know what it's capabilities were?

#2 I was hoping for that.

Re: OOC Thread IV

In reply to Jason Sinclair (msg # 97):

1) Maybe, but is that what happened in this case? Would you like me maybe not do an out-and-out retcon but fudge the timing a little?

2) Jason was never appraised of its capabilities. He would know it's powerful, that's for sure!
