Re: Scene 3: Charity

Levi got a little skittish after hearing the news. She was an Illegal immigrant as far as the law was concerned. The fact that either one of the group could be taken under the loop made her fear the fact that they might do a background check on her as well. Not daring to say what troubles her she just stared at the ground a little, hoping to fade to the background for a bit.

It was Synch who tried to do the smart thing and tell the group about it. Knowing it could become a problem if they found out later on, he decided to get it out of the way. “Well there might be a slight problem there” he said once his turn came up. but before he could continue he got interrupted by the raging redhead named Sarah. He sighed and waited for an opportunity to tell the group that Levi was a refugee. Levi noticed and tried to subtly hint at Synch that he should keep his mouth shut about it. Yet subtlety wasn’t her strong suit and it was clear to see she was trying to shush him.

Once Sarah had finished Synch reluctantly replied “Wha...Chill lady, they are just doing their job. They have to investigate every aspect before they can come to a conclusion. And wouldn't you be somewhat suspicious if some girl just happened to be better at fighting crime than trained professionals?” with the hope of not  getting punched in the face by Sarah for voicing his opinion. Sarah just gave him a look as if saying “What the hell do you know about it?” but it didn’t bother Synch much since it seemed like she wasn't going to pummel him into a bloody mess. Relieved of this fact he continued. “I'm a little concerned about the privacy matter though. If anyone knows who we are there might be repercussions.  Some of us might not be able to be completely honest about their background because of either personal or political reasons.” while saying this Levi's face went from Blue to slight purplish blue because she knew Synch was talking about her. Yet she appreciated the fact that he didn’t bluntly say what his true concerns were, and in fact was making himself look more suspicious than Levi.

Re: Scene 3: Charity

Mittens responds with body language mostly at first.  To Diren and Shephard she smiles and nods.  To Angel's points she strokes her chin and frowns, and puts on an impressed "oh!" look when Angel boasts she's into public relations.  Between Liberty and Emerald she raises her eyebrows, lip-skews, and nods.  Joe's comments make her blush, rub behind her head, and wear a sheepish grin.  To Timothius' answer, she wears a tired face, hangs her tongue out, and pants like a St. Bernard.  Sarah's cough startles Mittens, and she reaches out like she was ready to give the Heimlich Maneuver but recovers, listens, and hehs.  Between Levi and Synch she head-tilts and smiles curiously.

"Good points, all!" she answers, "Fantastic, I should say!  Because I didn't hear any quitter's excuses!"

She squees for a moment, clenched fists covering her grin, trying to contain her happy excitement!

"What a buncha brave hearts you all are!  It may be viewed as crazy for me to smile in the face of danger, but I can't help but feel privileged to be surrounded by such awesome heroes!  Ok! Ok! Calm down."

She paces and waves at herself.

"One additional point needs to be made.  Namely that we're all in this together.  All for one and one for all!
"Angel, since you mentioned you're an expert in PR, I would love for you to take over such if Joe doesn't mind.  Thanks for the positive outlook!
"Diren, it's an honor to provide a place for you, and I look forward to seeing your first metal sculptures.
"Ed, we'll be there for you should anything ever go to trial.  I've made quite a few lawyer contacts already who've offered legal aid and advice for free.
"Liberty, you live up to your name.  If you were around during the revolution, Sam Adams would put you on his shoulders and say he looks up to you.
"Emerald, shrewd and practical as ever.  Your level-headedness will keep us down to earth.
"Joe, I too know the satisfaction of proving the nay-sayers wrong.  You may not believe it to be as noble, but the fact remains you heroically placed yourself in danger to help others.
"Timothius, you sound like He-Man giving the moral of the story.  Of course reducing personal risk at the expense of others isn't even an option... in the mind of a true hero!
"Sarah, I can't tell you how happy it makes me to have a protective big sis.  I only ask that we save the punches for villains who are putting people's lives at risk.
"Synch and Levi, I'll be more than happy to do what I can to protect your privacy."

Mittens stops there, figuring Haalima and Cell would rather not be put in the spotlight.  She sniff-sniffs at the air.

"Man that pizza smells sooo goood!"

Re: Scene 3: Charity

Joe, considers Mittens's long and elaborate reply to what everyone has said.  He of course singles out the single most important detail for him to address out of all these points.  "I am not a short lion with a crowned heart on his belly and/or a Mel Gibson movie."

  Important details.

"Though less effort on my part for someone probably better at the PR thing would be good."  TLDR Edition News while easy to read, likely wasn't very good for their image as hardworking... whatevers.  "Nobody is in handcuffs... Right now."  More implying the times Sarah and Edward may already have had such wrist accessories than it being inevitable in the future.  Honest.  "And yes, Pizza is good. I've lost track of if we have introduced Diren to this concept directly yet or not."

It's not because you only feel like this meeting has gone on for months and lost track of things Joe.  It's because it actually has gone on for months and your player has lost track of things.  Similar, but fundamentally different.

Haalima cleared her throat gently. "I agree that the pizza does smell good. I think Emerald probably outdid herself," she said with a soft smile. Her brown eyes glittered as she looked at Mittens. "As for being under scrutiny, just so that my opinion is noted in the official minutes: I've been in newspapers since I was born. A few headlines that aren't about the Daughter of Satan being born aren't going to bother me a bit.

"I do admit that it sucks Mitts is being put under the microscope for something we all know is ridiculous, but the police are just doing their jobs. I can't be too angry with them for that. Hopefully they'll see the light soon and get on board with us."

Re: Scene 3: Charity

Sarah's rage subsided a little after hearing the kind words of their leader. She scratched the back of her head out of embarrassment. “well if ya insist I’ll try to keep the punching to a minimum, yet I can't promise anythin'. And If there is anyone giving any of ya trouble don’t hesitate to call and i'll be on my way backing ya up.” She said wile taking a look around at the faces of the group.

The furry little captain was right about one thing; there were some brave people gathered in this room and Sarah had come to love them, not only for their bravery but also their acceptance of other people. It was a good feeling to have gained a group of friends with a common goal, and no fire-breathing dragon or stalking officer was going to get in between that. Thinking this she smirked and took a more relaxing pose in her chair. Than she remembered something rather important.

Having half forgotten she was in an official meeting she turned to Halima when the somewhat shy lady had said her piece. Sarah didnt want to interrupt her, so with a little hesitation asked: “So, Haalima. We aint had much time to talk and I was wondering ifn ya have some time to come over to my place in the near future.” she takes a short pause to check if it didnt startle the tall tiger lady too much and than continues. “gonna try to have a talk with all of ya,  yet I guess since, well...erm. Sarah Sighs before continuing, thinking she's never been very good at connecting to people for some reason. “Well  i'd love to hear what’s on your mind ya know. And I bet we'd have ourselves some laughs seeing were the tallest of the group.” For Sarah it was a lot harder to ask something like this than to put her life on the line for people she didn’t know and it took a lot of effort to get the words out of her mouth. But she figured if she was to stay with this group she'd better get to know all of em a little better to avoid conflicts. Truthfully Haalima would be one of the harder ones to get to know she thought. Noticing she was a little on the shy side Sarah figured it was best to start there.

Re: Scene 3: Charity

Emerald had bit her lip with a twinge of a smile when Sarah referred to the policeman as a pig. She listens to all the "we're not quitting" talk and has a proud, cocky smile with half-lidded eyes. Almost like a "those are MY kids" look. Then talk of pizza. Emerald smiles as she listens to Sarah comment some more, but hops to her feet as she does. "Haalima. I choose you." she couldn't help it. "Come help me pull the pizza out. There's a couple in there and they are a little big, so a small fry like me could use some assistance if I wanna not get burns trying to pull them out."

She gives a glance to Sarah. "You and I could use some one-on-one sometime, Sarah. Lookin' forward to it when it happens."

As she heads for the kitchen, she talks over her shoulder, "But then, I think everyone here should have one-on-one with everyone else at some point. Not that it's a requirement. I'm sure it'll happen all on its own..."

(To keep the RP rolling, I'll go ahead and say the pizza comes out and is served to everyone in short ord-*gets smacked by Emerald* "Bad pun! Bad!" ....anyway, yeah. Feel free to post having pizza and Haalima can feel free to post that she helped and then partook when she gets around to posting.)

Liberty ducks her head in embarrassment at what Mittens says about her. "Jeez, Mitts. Little overboard with the compliment on me. So besides "oh no, we're the scapegoats for all hate-crimes" and besides pizza, was there anything else to cover? I'm kind of excited about getting nicknames for everyone. It's just like having a club and this is our clubhouse."

Liberty and Sarah. So alike, they even have the same font color.

When the pizza is served, of course, Liberty digs in and enjoys.

While narration was about to use a different word that would have upped the rating of this board, Timothius finds another word to describe the pizza. Ecstasy. "Wow... this doesn't taste home-made. This tastes like restaurant pizza... only better."

Emerald smiles and says, "Yeah, well... to no credit of my own. Anyone here could make it. I just lucked out and came across someone who came up with the recipe and, well... let's just say he trusted me enough to give it to me. That said, I'm not allowed to teach it to anyone. Yet."

Tim ohs. "S'ok... as long as we have you around cooking pizzas like this, I doubt even a double-agent would ever betray us."

Angel just keeps her cool when Sarah loses hers. She patiently waits for others to speak and eventually gets her own piece of pizza. Which makes her raise an eyebrow as she inwardly agrees with Timothius's assessment.

Angel decides it best not to speak up for now.

Diren takes a piece of pizza and bites into it. "This is the greatest thing I have ever eaten." He thinks out loud. He continues to *nomnomnom* on the pizza while the others are busy talking, going back for seconds. And thirds. He clearly isn't used to just having food whenever he wants it.

With a slight grin Synch replied to Mitten “That’s all I needed to hear little lady.” as earlier mentioned, it was a little odd to see someone so cheerful about facing danger, yet she seemed to have a warm and caring heart. He figured it’d be a rather interesting experience to help this group. He stretched and relaxed a bit until the pizza arrived.

Not being able to resist good food he took a piece of pizza. Even though he had eaten before he and Levi went to register he always had some room for good food, and it sure did smelled great. After trying a piece he said: “well if there’s going be pizza’s like this I’ll be sure to show up at around meeting.” than gave a smile to the little fox lady before taking a second slice. He didn’t want to be rude but the pizza was tempting.

A large smile returned on Levi’s face as Mittens had spoken. Both relieved of the facts that her privacy was safe and that The Citizens Patrol was filled with such wonderful people. She turned to Liberty and replied Well, me and Synchy kinda already have nicknames, but I don’t mind helping out with picking them.

Levi has gone in float mode again and as the pizza arrives the looks for the smallest cut. Since she already had eaten she wasn’t very hungry, yet with all the people saying it was so good she just had to try it. “Wha, yeah. This is great stuff” she gleefully remarked to Emerald. “The one on one talking sounds like fun” she than remarked on an earlier comment. “though erm…I do live at Synchies place so it could become one on one on one talks.” Making a little “heh” sound after saying this since she might have phrased that a little awkward.

He quietly whispered walking by Sarah.
"Calm down' lil' lady."
Then he put his hands together almost in a  clap fashion.
"The pizza smells absolutely delicious!"
After taking a slice he starts carefully eating it, trying not to get anything in his beard.

Haalima helped Emerald with the pizzas, then took a slice while everyone was chowing down on their own. As she put the pizza on a plate she looked at Sarah and smiled. "By the way," she said, speaking quietly, "I would love to come to your place some time. Thank you."

The tiger-horse woman took a bite of the ooey, gooey, melty pizza and let out a noise of satisfaction. "Delicious! Nothing quite like homemade, is there?"

Joe grabbed a single slice in order to actually get one, and because he had the feeling single slice was all that would he availible with this many people for himself.  But hey, free food.  "Well that's just great.  We've ruined quick trips to chain pizza shops forever for Diren with this quality stuff."  Of course, there was always that certain something when it came to buying food instead of making it, like going out for chocolate chip pancakes instead of pouring the mix, making it, cookoh right that was it.

Going out to eat and delivery had the delicious taste of lazy that your own home cooked meal would never be able to accomplish... Except Joe hadn't helped with this pizza at all, so it had that benfit for himself, score!... oh, good.  For a second there we thought he'd feel bad for not helping.

"I'm still skipping the nicknames thing, first it's nicknames then before you know it you're wearing your underpants on the wrong side of your pants and talking in third person.  The one on ones could work out I guess, though I hope nobody is expecting deep and meaningful from me."

"Yum!" Mits says after nom-noming on a slice of pizza, "Delicious!  Thank you, everyone who contributed!  So glad everyone is all, 'Bring it on!' when it comes to the microscope.  Yes I was hinting that y'all are like the Scots in the Mel Gibson Movie.  Sarah's place is awesome.  Tonns of music!

"Speaking of music, that was gunna be the next bit on the itinerary... or was it the bit after the next?  Well it was on the list anyway.  I've found us a place where we can get together and jam!"

She motions with her hands to indicate the building everyone is in at the moment and grins playfully.

"Love it when things come together.  I'll be passing around a calendar so everyone can put on it when they're available to jam or listen to the others practice.

As promised, Mittens passes around a calendar, her own name written on various dates she's left her schedule open for music and fun.  She snickers at Joe's superhero humor.

"Nicknames.  Hmm...  Joe is Joe.  Mittens is Mittens.  To brainstorm some ideas, I'm thinking Haalima could be 'Legs.'  Angel could be 'Ebony.'  Sarah could be 'Slugger.'  Emerald could be 'Vixen.'  Diren could be 'Pizza.'  Can't call Timothius 'Angel' or that'd get confusing.  Maybe 'Miracle.'  Shepherd could be 'Wolf.'  Already figured 'Tank' for Liberty.  Beyond that, I'm outta ideas.  And nobody's making anybody take a nickname they don't want."

Re: Scene 3: Charity

"Work, work, work," Michael thinks to himself. "Why does it seem like all I do is work?" Walking out of job he just quit, as it turned out to be a sketchy business, he made his way to his motorcycle. Sitting there for a moment, he decides to drive past the police station and see how the Citizen Patrol is doing. He hopes they don't get to made at him for not being around lately.

Finding a visitor parking spot, he makes his way inside towards the room used previously. Opening the door, he is surprised to find a group of men sitting around in a circle, all of which look up at him when he walks in. With a sorry, Michael backs out and heads over to Bill's desk. Bill looks up as he comes over and a smile appears on his face. "Michael, wonderful to see you again. How are you doing?"

"Doing fine William," he replies, giving a slight smirk when Bill gets annoyed at him using his full name. He looked questioningly back to the room and Bill picks up on it.

"You actually just missed them," he says. "They left with some lawyer lady, saying they had their own place now. Good for them, but it means I actually have to do this paperwork now." He grimaces at the thought of that. Taking a sticky note, he scribbles quickly onto it an address. "Here is where they went."

Michael chuckles at Bill's loathing of paperwork and nods his thanks for the address. Then back on his bike he heads to the new location. As he made it to the building, he checked the address a few more times to make sure he was at the right place. "Lawyer lady, huh?" he thought. Parking out front, he makes his way to the door and knocks. He would walk in, but he still thinks Bill gave him the wrong address.

Emerald hears the excitement in Liberty's voice. "Who is it, Liberty?"

Liberty calls back over her shoulder, "It's Michael!" as she prepares to lead Mike to the others.

Emerald ohs and says with an impish grin, "Hmm... should I tell him we're taking measurements for everyone to wear leather tights...?"

Then shakes it off. "Hmm.. a good start. I'll take notes..." she begins scribbling. "Alright. I'll start shootin' some names: Mittens could be Miss Adventure. Joe could be Impressive Guy. Liberty being Tank is so fitting, but I guess we should all make names, so... Stalwart? Cell calls himself that, so it's likely gonna stick, but I offer maybe calling him Replica? No... too girly sounding somehow. Double Dealer? Better... anyway, Haalima already has an exotic and pretty name. But for a super hero moniker? Arabian Knight? I'll just note that for now... Timothius could be Red Cross. Edward could be Wolverine. Rodney, bless his heart, named himself Wyrm and since he doesn't mind that... I don't mind. Sarah could be Gluegun. Angel could be Messenger, because she'll be doing our PR. Diren could be Metallo. And Michael, of course, can be Sergeant Slaughter."

The last part saved for the moment Michael walks into view, of course.

Angel actually looks at her own skin when Mittens suggests 'ebony' as her nickname. She didn't think she was all that dark... and double-checking, she isn't. Even in this light. Maybe it's because she's the only negro-related person here? But then... Emmy mentioned Rodney, who's blacker than Angel. And this stuff does matter to people.

She hears Emerald's nickname and kinda thinks how if this group knew her better, neither 'messenger' nor 'ebony' would be the suggestions. She doesn't say anything about it, though. Seeing Emerald point at her, Angel points at herself with a curious expression.

Emerald says, "Your turn, Angel."

Angel says, "Oh... uhhh... I guess Emerald could be..." she thinks "Padlock, for all the secrets you keep! Or maybe just Secret. Or maybe Ethnic because you speak all those languages.." but says, "Ruby because she's red. Or Gemstone because her being equated with one isn't uncommon. Mittens... Capricious Cat. Timothius, Healing Wind? Liberty, Fearless. Joe could be Ninja." "or lightning rod" she thinks. "Haalima could be Dancing Dame" or Ponytail. "Edward could be Boneshard. Rodney could be..." SoftSquishythingMon "..yeah, worm. Cell could be Duo. Diren could be Metalmorphosis. Sarah could be Root. Michael could be Portal."

Re: Scene 3: Charity

Sarah was delighted to hear the that Mittens was actually still planning on making a band alongside of the whole hero business. She had been trying to pull some strings for instruments and other equipment. “Good to hear” she replied to Mittens “I was afraid that with all the busy days ya had forgotten all about creating a band. Well I got some good news for ya. I asked my mates and old band colleagues ifn they had some equipment to spare and it seems most of em were willing to help out. Even Greg, the drummer from my last band was willing to part with an old drum-kit of his. Though he said we would have to pick it up ourselves, and he lives in Canada at the moment." She sighs while thinking it will be a hell of a trip only to  pick up a drum-kit. “I'm gonna try to convince him he should come over and here, drop it off and meet the crew. Honestly, he is a great drummer and a pretty decent musician overall, so we might profit from his experience if he decides to show up. Aside from that there is some other gear I managed to scrape together, not in perfect condition but its good enough for repetitions. So whenever ya are ready I’ll tell Ishida to hire a van and we'll drop the stuff off here.”

Synch raises an eyebrow at the tall redhead. His first impression of her might have been a little off he thinks as he listens to Sarah. Than he replies “I do have a truck, it should suffice for transport so that that Ishida person doesn’t have to spend cash on a van. I would prefer to drive myself though, since me and my dad are the only ones that can keep it running.” Synch smiled as continued “And I bet I can get that gear of yours back in perfect shape if given some time.” Sarah gladly accepts the offer, it would save her money and it would give her some time to get to know the newcomer a little.

than she hears the doorbell, and as usual doesn't give much more response to it than: “Hey, someone at the door.” She is glad to see Liberty going to awnser it, Sarah was just getting comfortable in the chair. When she hears its Michael she shouts on the top of her longs "ey Michael, if you're quick ya might still have a piece of pizza, its good and going fast.” Sarah was glad to hear Michael hadn’t given up on the group, though she wouldn’t show it directly. She gave an amused look at Diren who seems to be enjoying the meal. She smiles as she said “ya should join me at an all you can eat sushi place some time, seeing how you eat I bet you'll have a good time there”

it seems her mood has taken a turn for the better again, half forgetting about the whole police observation thing. She couldn't resist pitching in a few names herself. “well some people call me Danger woman at times, but I think that name fits Mittens better. Seeing that she attracts danger and runs at it face first. No offence though, its one of the things I like about ya little lady, but do watch yourself a little, aint like you're immortal or anythin'”   This coming from a lady that has a reputation of 'punching first and ask questions if the person survives' is a little strange. But Sarah does seem to care for the little lady. She than turns her head to Emerald "As for you, a simple yet cute name would be Foxy. not very original, I know, yet it does seem to fit ya. Than again, I think I’ll still be calling ya M.” she said with a grin, than she rubs her chin thinking of more names. Sarah figures Timothius being a healer he should be named ample named for an amazing ability like that. “For Tim I’d go for something like Euri or Damu, both mythical gods of Rebirth.” she stops there, thinking that that should be enough of an effort on her side and for a wile.

(OOC: well, i didn’t want to fill up the entire screen with one post so i figured i'd stop here)

Joe finds Angel's suggestion about him both the most accurate and most annoying.  Not because of to what degree ninja like Joe was or not.  Bur because his middle name actually was Ninja...  Like many stupid things in his life, he blamed his Father.  And like many times he blamed his Father for something stupid, it was rightfully so.

"My lazy demands any and all fake names people are dead set on going by not be a headache to write down or type.  Not to say decent ideas are being given in the first place though." does anyone here want to have to type 'Metalmorphosis' at regular intervals?  "Though even if I was inclined towards such, Impressive Guy is probably overstating me."

When Michael makes his, if not triumphant, then at least pleasant return to the group inside, Joe would say  "Hi Michael, good to see you again."

"Good to see ya, Michael!" Mittens welcomes with a wave when he enters.

"Not too far from the truth, there, Emerald.  Next order of business is to decide reflective vests or xinglets.  I favor the xinglets myself."

She takes the following two examples out of her backpack and shows them off to the others: http://www.sz-wholesaler.com/u...estwork-wear-223.jpg and http://media.rei.com/media/dd/...201-50658b7d947a.jpg

"Great suggestions there, everybody!  And don't worry, Joe.  If I wind up Miss Adventure, you can always abbreviate it M.A.

"As for the musical stuff, thanks a million, Sarah!  All I'd been able to scrounge so far was some paint buckets for drums, heh.  I've had a few offers for donated gear, but way too many strings attached so far.  And I'd love to meet your drummer friend if that ever becomes an option.  And thanks for offering the use of your truck, Synch.

"By way of introductions, Michael, this is Angel Bard.  She's the one who donated the use of this place!  And this is Synch and Levi.  One guess what her super ability is, heh.  The three are our newest members!  Haalima can get ya caught up on the rest of what's happened."

Re: Scene 3: Charity

Levi tried to think of a few names yet there were so many pitching in that she didn't find much of a chance to pitch one herself before the conversation shifted. Honestly she felt it wasn't her place to start naming people in a group she just joined, but it was nice to see so many of em working hard to find decent names for each other. Some of the suggestions were hilarious and though she didn't mean to she had to laugh a little, especially when she noticed the reaction from Haalima to the name 'Legs'.

“Hi there” she said with a smile when she got introduced to Michael.  Levi was a little distracted with so many topics running trough each other. 'For now it might be best to listen' she thinks as she was tries to absorb all the information. Though her pointy ears are receiving the info her mind is getting a little overloaded.
