Around here we employ an informal approach to joining up.  Read the theme, read the rules, look at a few existing characters in the cast list, decide if you think this place is right for you, then PM us and tell us a little about yourself as a player (what you like about this place, how often you post, etc.) and the kind of character you'd like to play.  Be sure to mention rule number 1.  ;)

Then we'll get back with you and let you know if we're getting a good vibe or not.  If you like our reply, then you can go to the trouble of writing up a character sheet.

(To explain, this is what your character likes wearing most times unless you note otherwise. A quick description like "jeans, T-shirt" or "leather jumpsuit" is all that's needed.)

(This is where you put anything else of note, like a necklace they always wear, a hair style they prefer, or if they are obese, etc.)

Background:
(Don't worry overmuch about getting powers from background, though that is certainly allowed and enjoyed. As most characters here are mutants, you're born with your powers or gain them at puberty. This is what will tell us how your character got to where they are today, why they are the way they are, and so on. Nothing fancy needed, but it is desired. Preference for it to be shorter than 8 paragraphs for the sanity of the GMs.)

Personality:
(Now that you told HOW your character got this way, describe what this way is. What is your guy/gal like? Are they angsty loners? Are they social butterflies? Are they just that normal unmemorable guy? Or maybe a shy person who is just a little scared of strangers at first.)

Powers:
(This should be obvious. Feel free to ask for whatever you want, just bear in mind if it's super powerful or you have many powers, we may tweak it, send it back to you and ask you to change it accordingly. No biggy. So have fun here and we'll work with you.)

Abilities:
(This is where you put your non-power capabilities. Imagine if your character WASN'T a mutant. Well what were they best at? Example: Liberty is a mutant with high resistance to damage. But under abilities, she has the ability to play a guitar because she practiced! :) )
