Re: The current mission
Tinman...  This is probably the GM-side of me coming out (and I'm -not- a GM, here, I know).  If -you-re cool with the set-up, and you--the player--feel engaged, then it's just not an issue.

Sorry I'm so slow to get my act together over here!  I'll try to catch up when I get the chance.

I tried to finished my post by digging up actual Freedom City facts (NPCs and such) but I just had to wing it.

Just checking- we're waiting on Marcus, right? (And Whiplash if she decides to post.)

Re: The current mission
Okay, just trying to figure out where Whiplash would actually be in this scene.  (Possibly lurking around somewhere to work as backup, since she has approximately no chance of talking her way into anywhere...)

Re: The current mission
with the resources we've been granted you may find other ways in- someone using illusion- maybe even teleporting you in, etc. Don't forget we are on a sanctioned mission with more options than usual.

Re: The current mission
What Karl said. Illusions and disguise have been offered as an option, as has sneaking in with Marcus and Joseph. Resources are pretty open, so I'm open to other ideas as well.

Shadowing Marcus and Joseph is probably my best move, then.

All right, waiting on Marcus. If nothing by tomorrow evening, I'll NPC his reaction.

I should clarify; The coms work in the club, just not in the office-type room.

Heads-up: May be headed to the hospital. If so, may be there for a couple of days. Apologies.

Hope it's not as bad as you fear!

I'm offline for a couple of days too.  Reinstalling my O/S.

Re: The current mission
Tech said he couldn't reproduce my issues.  He obviously didn't run the same applications I did.  BSOD on any defrag isn't a good sign.  Reinstalled the O/S.  Half my issues are better.  Working on the other half (like, why can't I get a memory dump from windows 7?)

Hope you managed to avoid the hospital.  Failing that, I hope you make it out okay.

Still waiting on other posts. I will move the story along on Tuesday evening at the latest, one way or another.

Re: The current mission
Okay. I'm back.  really.   Had to buy a new power-supply and hard-drive.  Everything's installed and I've finally been able to successfully do a system image.  I haven't tried restoring from the image yet (kinda nervous about that).  But everything looks green so far.  I haven't had a crash in three days!

Re: The current mission
Okay, at this point, I think we've lost Magnus. Means I'll be NPCing him, as mid-story it'd be difficult to find someone new.
Tomorrow morning I'll be out of town, but tomorrow evening (possibly late, we'll see how it goes) I'll put together something to move things forward, as we seem to've stalled again.

Are we waiting on someone to make a plan? Perform an action? Or am I missing something?

Re: The current mission
my last bit was to ask the question- we gonna drop the plan to find out whats going on, or do we stay as is?

really just waiting for input, as far as that goes.

Re: The current mission
Guys, I'm sorry, but I'm having a real hard time keeping involved here.

I've run into the problem where I've joined up with a lot of games that have all slowwed to a crawl.  I feel like I should be carrying some of it but the truth is I also run my own games...  So, I get caught in the log-on and see nothing posted routine, which doesn't help anyone...

GM, you've been awesome.  This was one of the first 2E games I ever looked at.  It was the impetus for me getting into 3E, which I love!

'Cause I think it might be time to bow out gracefully.  Or just call it done and move on to something else.

Is it just me?

Re: The current mission
Nah, that's okay. At this point, we've lost half the cast, and having to prod things along every other week shows that this game just doesn't have legs. I'm sorry about that, guys. If I knew how better to jumpstart things, I would, but I think that this one is dying or dead.

Those of you that have remained thusfar are good players, and I'd love to see you in other games. Heck, I'd love to run another 2nd ed. M&M game, but I'm afraid it would fall into the same hole this one did unless I can figure out what went wrong here.

I'm going to leave this place open, and if I can figure things out, maybe go for a reboot or new campaign. I thank you all for sticking with it for this long.

Re: The current mission
The only successful resurrection I've done came at a butt-load of effort on my part as the GM...

The game in question was a freeform super-powered game where the PCs were terminally-ill patients undergoing a last-ditch "experimental effort" which gave them superpowers.

The first time things flagged and I lost players, I blew up the cruise-ship the game had been set on, forcing the PCs to run for their lives as someone started hunting them.   The second-time, I leveled a small South American city.

Both times I suplemented it with recruitment.  That's why I called it.  The effort wasn't worth the dwindling payout.  However, forcing a left-turn was successful that one time...
