In reply to Seth 'Shard' Gray (msg # 56):

Page 96 has an expansion. Whenever a PrC grants a bonus manuever readied, if the martial adept class getting the bonus is a crusader, they also get an additional manuever granted.

Ajah:
Psoinics are horribly written

Explain, please.

It's sad to see that Bo9S was published with known exploits...but any sane DM will look at it and say "No".

Re: OOC

Any sane DM will look at it and say 'is this really that powerful given the level it's proposed to be used?'.

Every book has exploits, but just because the rules can be combined in a way that wasn't originally intended does not make it bad or broken. Powerful, perhaps, but not broken. Review it in context, don't just ban it out of principal.

Re: OOC

I don't think it's really that powerful to be honest I'd look at it and say cool.

Let's be absolutely clear about one thing here - I have never claimed to be sane :).

Given that - can someone who wants this Idiot Crusader list in bullet format exactly what it will do for a high level character.

Pretty much in theory you could use it to try to ready only level 9 abilities every round if you know how to do it right, but by the time you can do it than it wouldn't really matter anyway. It wouldn't be that powerful it's more work than it's worth.

Re: OOC

I agree with Ajah.

I've been looking into it, and by the time it is problematic for game balance, casters are still worse. In a game it might be inappropriate, but here there should be no trouble.

Re: OOC

There's really only one thing it does.

This allows a given manuever, or multiple manuevers (in the case of a boost and a strike used in conjunction for example), to be used every round, rather than every other round like most martial adepts have to (using it in one round, then refreshing it the next round).

For a Ruby Knight Vindicator, it's basically free Divine Recovery for a limited number of martial manuevers.

Re: OOC

As with most trips where I can't get to RPOL for a while - I have "lost" some of the PM threads that require my attention. Now that I'm fully back, if you have a PM thread that needs me, please post a "bump" to it and I'll get right to it. My apologies for the delay.

Good morning folks (or afternoon if on the east coast of the U.S. or more east than that :) - If you have a monster fight and lose, please post that in the Victory thread so I know to close your match.  Thanks :).

Also - check out the epic duel going on right now for the Championship of Tier 9-15 between Thomas and Betsalesh:

Re: OOC

I think Earl vs. Gar, Jin, Shen & Tallulah was a pretty impressive fight since it went on for so long 1 on 4 was pretty rough.

Re: OOC

I was helping my team...I wouldn't have done them any good to be blasted to oblivion by your sonic lance whenever you decided to come out from behind your sand wall.

We had to wait until you were finished before the fight actually began.  You held up the entire fight with your tactics.  I didn't.

Re: OOC

You didn't wait for me at all, I was attack on round #2.

Shen and Tallulah were there by round #2-3 (I was on my sand wall at round #3).

I only cast 2-3 spells and the fight finish at round #9... ;)

Is 85% 3 rounds outta 9 ? :P

Re: OOC

I just know that it felt like an eternity. In the same time it took us to sort all rules mongering and arguing back and fort I managed to take part on two team fights, and I believe a pair of regular ones.

Let's not do that again

Re: OOC

Well when you are going 3 against 1 than you are putting him on the defense from the start so I still have to say it was a good fight.

Re: OOC

They were 4 vs 1 in fact !  ;)

Also, I must agree that I was on the defensive in such a fight, making defensive moves, but not hiding ! :P

A mystake can be lethal, that's why we need to agree about the rules before attempting anything...

It was a good fight, little long, but that's the deal with team battles !

I enjoy them, but one at a time. :)

Re: OOC

Congrats everyone - this is post # 50,000 for the Colosseum!!!!!  I started this arena on Aug. 13, 2010 (approximately 1,194 days ago).  That comes out to an average of 42 posts per day since it's started - thank you to everyone who plays in the arena and the GMs who devote their time to the game :).

As a thank you - I added 1,000 xp to every characters' sheet.  Thanks again and keep having fun at the Colosseum :).
