The hooded conjurer steps into the arena through an ovular disk of shimmering silver/white light, a translucent armor-like field about his person. In the background of the disk can be seen the exterior of the Garrulus Pub and Winery.

He makes his customary nods to the crowds, wherever they may be, and then calmly sets to completing a series of incantations, weaving a web of wards about his person in preparation for the coming battle. The first one causes him to vanish from sight and not a word is heard from him after.

Buried by the rubble at first, the mighty druid suddenly senses the hooded sorcerer again, this time on top of the pile of rubble he just created. With a single gesture, the conjurer sends a volley of arcane bolts to bite at the flying druid and then, just as swiftly but without any sign of a casting, Corthan's enhanced senses are suddenly cut off by an invisible  barrier that appears between him and the corner of the arena, blocking off all sense of the conjurer and that area.
