I'm not sure what you're trying to do with the rod.  Are you drawing it?  If so, that's a move action and you don't have actions remaining to draw your guisarme.

You also cannot "quick draw" a weapon during a 5' step.

The acid strikes the beast square and its flesh sizzles.  However, as the beast begins its turn, the wounds heal and it looks as if it was never injured!

The beast suddenly and without warning takes flight and charges Antaeus!
