Antaeus weathers the acid bath with nary a blink. Deciding he needs more power, he tosses his guisarme to the top of the pillar (effectively dropping it) and draws his greatsword. Moving closer to the creature by flying 5' down, he channels another Shocking Grasp at the monster. Using all his power, he swings as hard as he can at the foe.

I don't understand your actions.  Sheathing your greatsword is not a free action.  Fighting defensively involves making an attack....do you mean to take total defense?
