Squinting in frustration, Tim turns the ground into a dangerous area with razor sharp rocks.

The 'griff will use its second move action to determine the direction of the scent.

I don't know if Tim can act on the line of direction the hippogriff gets, but he'll know Melvin is somewhere on the outskirts of the 30' range.

Based on direction and that I just came into his 30' range, the hipogriff knows that I am in i9 on top of the pillar.

(BTW, smart idea to use the scent ability, wish I had a round after it showed up before you get to act)

When hippo gets to L19-M20+15' he can sense Melvin East and down at ground level.

ROUND 4

ASTRAL CONSTRUCT takes a 5' step to K14-L15+15' and attacks Thorn. (NOTE: I do not believe you get cover if he attacks from this location BUT, if you do, the construct would move another 2 squares to the right and your elemental would get an AoO)

The construct hits for 16HP of damage and gets an automatic trip attack. You must make a dex or str check DC: 33 or be tripped. (-4 for size). It is unclear to me the affects of tripping a flying creature, I think it depends on your manueverability?

MELVIN finally makes his presence known, turning visible upon his manifesting.
He takes a 5' step to H20, pulls out a rod, and manifests a mindthrust with everything he has.

Base for 5Power points is the 1d20+caster level (7 max of 10)

Augment
For every additional power point you spend (I increased the power to 10 power points used by using Wild surge) the bonus on your dispel check increases by 2 (to a maximum bonus of +20 for a 5-point expenditure).

I increased 5 power points, increase 2 per power point, is an additional 10 on top of my caster lvl for the total of +17.

Any creature moving on foot into or through the spell’s area moves at half speed.
Each creature moving through the area takes 1d8 points of piercing damage for each 5 feet of movement through the spiked area.
Any creature that takes damage from this spell must also succeed on a Reflex save (DC 21) to avoid injuries to its feet and legs. A failed save causes the creature’s speed to be reduced to half normal for 24 hours or until the injured creature receives a cure spell (which also restores lost hit points)

Note: I just realized that, because of the astral constructs maneuverability, he would have to fly 10' a round, not 5'. This would mean that he would never have gotten 2 attacks. The only thing this affects is that your last Hippo is still alive and would get an action before the construct gets to go for his round.
