Squinting in frustration, Tim turns the ground into a dangerous area with razor sharp rocks.

The 'griff will use its second move action to determine the direction of the scent.

I don't know if Tim can act on the line of direction the hippogriff gets, but he'll know Melvin is somewhere on the outskirts of the 30' range.

Based on direction and that I just came into his 30' range, the hipogriff knows that I am in i9 on top of the pillar.

(BTW, smart idea to use the scent ability, wish I had a round after it showed up before you get to act)
