Well, at least now Gideon knew why Thorn was willing to go up against three versions of himself...

Both of the remaining Gideons draw their swords back and flick them forward. As they did so, a thin black line stretched out from the tips and launched towards Thorn. One missed and dissipated harmlessly while the other caught the warrior across the neck.

Once the attacks had been made, they split off into different directions before rounding their movement to converge on Thorn.
