Re: The Labyrinth

Weathered from years of physical training, Jayden stands impressively tall, about 6'5", with a rough, musclebound form that just seems to ooze finesse at the same time. He wears a chain shirt and carries two large swords at his hip, with an array of potions at his belt. Also, of interest, is his blue skin and orcish face; this man is definitely not human.

Re: The Labyrinth

Karthus walks into the Labyrinth with a flourish of his scarlet cloak and an imperious mien.  The human has a clearly noble lineage to those whom know of such things, and those who don't still notice that he acts like it.  His 5'11, 200 lbs build fills his fine silken clothing impressively, and his dark black hair flows to his shoulders unbound.

As Karthus sits to ready his gear for his next battle, he lays out a well-cared-for, but otherwise ordinary, chain shirt to polish, leans a small quiver of javalins against the wall, and starts to sharpen an elaborate falchion.  The falchion is clearly the most valuable item he carries and is embellished with a family crest that matches the clasp of his cloak.

Though Karthus responds politely to any gladiator that approaches, those that do so rarely come away liking him.  Something about him seems to cause others to feel slightly uneasy.  Perhaps the shortness of his responses or the poorly veiled arrogance of his expression.

Re: The Labyrinth

Drana'Taro is an elf of fair coloring and slight build.  His movements are graceful yet appear not to waste any motion.  The equipment he carries with him, a thick-hewn composite longbow and studded leather armor, are well cared for, but appear to have been made by a talented amateur rather than having a professional finish.  His eyes flit warily to the other gladiators, and he actively avoids any contact with them, even at the cost of offending them.

Re: The Labyrinth

Rhakar the Bear is a water-orc as large, hairy, and ill-tempered as his namesake.  He wears his spiked armor in just about all public appearances, and he hauls a rough-hewn greataxe, a quiver of javelins, and a wooden tower shield into the arena for each match.

A warrior from birth, Rhakar rarely thinks of anything beyond combat, leaving every other aspect of his life, from his equipment purchases to his children, in the hands of his clan elders.

Re: The Labyrinth

A slender, small reptile with humanoid features. The thing resembles a member of the lizardfolk, yet it is small, with smoother features and a black snout. Its skin seems to change colors subtly, making it hard to get a good look at its out line. There is no telling whether this is a male or female.

A small crossbow hangs from its back, a quiver of bolts strapped to its side. A small pouch made from the inside of some animal is knotted to a loose leather strap around its loincloth.

Re: The Labyrinth

As the doors to the Labyrinth swing open with a bang, a small humanoid enters.  He stands 3'5 and looks to weigh under 45 pounds, but walks as though he is the tallest person in the city.  His pale white, flat face sneers at the his potential opponents, and his long arms swing as low as his knees.  A swing of his head causes his long, silver ponytail to flip over his shoulder.  As he barks a command to one of the Labyrinth serving staff, you note his wide mouth appears to contain sharp fangs rather than teeth.

When he whips off his white silk cloak to sit at a table with his feet up on the neighboring chair, you note he wears leather armor and carries both a heavy wooden shield and a crossbow.  When the food arrives (a rib-eye steak cooked rare) he pulls a pair of wicked looking daggers out to eat with, rather than using the provided utensils.

Re: The Labyrinth

In through the usual doors stepped a heavily armored figure. Not just armored...Made of armor. A unlikely cross between man and machine. Dust covered most of the armor, but the plates that were somewhat clean had a solid green color on them. Most disturbing were his eyes, ruby gems that glowed with an inner core that suggests intelligent thought.

A sword pommel shows over his shoulder, just a few inches longer than a usual longsword. A bow is also slung over his shoulder with his pack. A steel shield is present too, an unremarkable piece of battered armor. His only other possession the small weathered backpack he carries. He speaks with a gravelly tone, one of gears and magic meshing together. "Where do I sign up to start killing?"

Re: The Labyrinth

Paserri the crow is a much less imposing figure than her half-brother Rhakar, though still tall and brawny by human standards.  Her sudden movements and cold, calculating stare (made more unsettling by a white, sightless right eye) bring to mind her namesake, as does her lack of any sense of fair play.

She wears heavy armor, carries a spear, and bears the holy symbol of some obscure evil god around her neck.

An unassuming and quiet person, Bai rarely talks unless she sees the need to. Dressed in a suit of armor and and huge shield that is obviously oversized for her, one wonders what exactly she is doing in a place like the Colosseum.

Bai currently holds no readily obvious weapons.

Re: The Labyrinth

Raja is a beautiful, and tall, human like creature with long, golden feathery wings and a very supple and lithe body that glows with an inner power that makes it hard to look directly at her. She has vibrant blue cyan colored eyes, and well toned golden skin. Raja has beautiful long honey blond hair that falls down just above her hips. She is wearing a blue bustier that seems a few sizes to small, smashing her well formed breasts together and pushing them upward. A fancy white cloak that is fixed with a blue gem hangs from the young angels shoulders. Her pants are white with blue lacing up the sides that reveals a provocative amount of skin. Her boots complete her outfit following suit with her pants, white with blue lacing.

When in armor Raja favors a glistening spiked breast plate a set of greaves and a helmet.

Raja's favored weapon and instrument of death is a well balanced great sword which she uses with deadly precision. Her other visible weapons include a pair of spiked gauntlets, and a quiver stuffed full of javelins on her back.

Re: The Labyrinth

Scrawny, loudmouthed, and a bit of a coward, Ca'alish doesn't look particularly respectable, likable, or useful.  But he moves with unusual grace and speed, even for an elf.  His "working clothes" consist of dark cloth under a blackened, bladed mithral shirt.  A brace of javelins, a belt of flasks, and a seemingly unused rapier round out his equipment.

Jasben bears many of the facial features of an elf, a thin pointy chin, high cheekbones, pointy ears and long flowing hair, however looking down a couple of feet things change, Jasbens muscles looks more like those of a Half-Orc bulging out in all directions, next to him, leaned against the wall stands a huge Greatsword, looking more suitable for a Giant or at least an Ogre. Lying on the floor is a small pile of gear, a quiver of Javelins, a chainshirt and a mysterious wooden bottle.

Re: The Labyrinth

Kayle is a young lady who commonly appears in a set of silvery-white full-plate armor that covers every part of her body, up to a helmet that reveals only her bright brown eyes. At first glance she looks like an elf, with her delicate facial features and tall and thin physique, but her eyes have an otherworldly glow to them. In physical combat, she favors the axe and shield, but she usually relies on her mastery of various forms of magic to maximize her advantage over her opponent. On her wrist is a silver bracelet embedded with a large sapphire and the symbol of Mystra etched onto its surface, and a finely carved longbow is slung across her back. Strapped across her back is also a beautifully crafted ranseur, its glistening three pronged blade in the shape of a stylized cross.

Re: The Labyrinth

Thorn Fury enters the room in a light black robe slowly walking like a snake in the crowd of gladiators. He wears a white mask with strange complex snake-like signs apparently wrote with blood, his own, who knows ?

He holds a spiked chain that roughly touches the ground making sparkles with an horrible metal sound. He also wears a belt pouch with a dagger and a sling to his belt.

He doesn't talk to anyone and seems to watch everybody with intrigued eyes. The only thing we can hear is a nasty whistle behind his strange mask.

Thorn doesn't seem to wear any kind of armor making him really mobile and swift.

He is wielding a quarterstaff, some daggers(4), has a scroll case on his hip, a belt pouch, a component pouch, and a standard backpack. The armor he is wearing, is a simple chain shirt. He has a holy symbol hanging about his neck.

A male high elf enters; he is dressed in very fashionable silken attire.  He has a shortbow and quiver over his left shoulder, and a long sword dangling from his right hip.  But only a dandy would waltz around in a pink tunic with a star sapphire in his left ear lobe and a coral comb in his spiky blond hair.

Which probably explains why his nose looks like its been broken and rebroken, along with a nasty pink scar from his right ear to the cleft in his chin.  Maybe armor would have helped.  Maybe not.

He looked at the ashes like he couldn't figure out what just happened.

Re: The Labyrinth

Chaz passes though the entrance of the Labyrinth, standing in it a moment to collect his thoughts on the other Gladiators. Appraising the fact that they all carried a lot with them he thought out loud, "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll need all of that when I bring The Fight..to you!" No one seemed to pay him any mind, but he didn't quite care as he sat down at a table, placing the spear and two javelins, with the words "Toothpick #1, #2 and #3" etched into them, down next to his seat.

Chaz proceeded to wrap his hands in what would best be described as medical gauze, covering his knuckles and wrists and cinching it tightly. Chaz rubbed his hands over the scars on his chest, impressively ranging in type from small to gashing across his chest, as he considered a meal before his first bout.

Walking into the labyrinth, Mordecai looks like a rather unassuming human, covered in robes and with the slight jingle of chain mail underneath. He carries a club and has a shortspear attached to his back, but other then that, no weapons can be seen. He's average sized for a human, roughly 5'8", about 170 pounds if you had to guess.

The gates to The Labyrinth slam closed behind what seems to be a humanoid machine of some sort.  Made from a composite of several materials, including a glint of mithril, the thing isn't carrying anything or wearing anything.  As it moves you can faintly here the gears inside it.

In a very inhuman, mechanical voice A.I.M.C.U. asks, no one in particular, "Where do I go to join in the killing?"

"What do we have to do to begin the combat trials?" Rothgar asks anyone who is close to listen.
